Just then, the girl in front suddenly moved slightly for so unknown reason, causing the thief to quickly retract his hand. The blade in his palm flickered and disappeared into his hand. Fortunately, the girl seed to have just moved casually without noticing anything unusual about her bag, nor did she turn to look at him. He then breathed a long sigh of relief, angrily turned his head back to see who the damned person was who dared to ss up his plan.
Xiao Yi watched the girl move, but she did not turn around; instead, she moved again, quietly sighing in pity. If she had beco alert, he wouldn’t have needed to intervene and could have withdrawn directly. However, since the girl hadn’t noticed anything, he didn’t mind; having already intervened, he was naturally not afraid of the thief. Seeing the thief turn around, he simply spoke in a mild tone, "Brother, it’s hard for everyone out here. Show so rcy, will you?"
"What did you say? I didn’t catch that!"
The thief, in his many years of thievery, apart from so setbacks in the beginning, had almost never been caught. He had never encountered soone who was full enough to ddle in his business and had even forgotten how to deal with such situations. Hearing Xiao Yi’s words, he was montarily stunned and after a while, he stared coldly at Xiao Yi, his glance carrying a thick warning.
His accomplice had also sensed sothing amiss and turned around, glaring fiercely at Xiao Yi before quickly turning back, adopting a nonchalant deanor. However, his eyes still occasionally gave Xiao Yi cold, warning stares.
"If you don’t understand, that’s for the best."
Xiao Yi’s face bore a casual smile, as if he had not seen the warning looks from the two pickpockets, and he gently tapped the shoulder of the girl in front.
Seeing Xiao Yi’s action, the faces of the two pickpockets changed drastically, their eyes no longer bothering to hide their feelings, staring intensely at Xiao Yi like a pair of venomous snakes.
Feeling the sudden stern expressions on the faces of the two n, and the serious gazes from their eyes, Xiao Yi’s face still only bore a casual smile, paying them no heed. When he saw the girl in front turn her head, he calmly said, "Miss, when you’re out and about, you should be careful with your belongings and keep a close watch on them."
"Ah?"
The girl, who was initially staring at Xiao Yi in disbelief and confusion, not understanding why he had tapped her, suddenly exclaid upon hearing his reminder. She instinctively tightened her grip on her bag and glanced inside it. As soon as she saw a fresh cut from a blade on her bag, her face turned pale with shock. Without paying any more attention to Xiao Yi and the two n next to her, nor the crowded public bus around her, she reached out her handcuffed hand inside the bag to check if her money was still there.
Upon seeing that her money was still there, her entire deanor relaxed, and she looked at the two n next to her with a nervous gaze, her face filled with wariness. She took a few steps forward, instinctively moving away from the two n. Even if she wasn’t the sharpest, she had now figured out that these two n were pickpockets!
Once she had steadied herself, it seed she recalled sothing, turned her head back, and gave Xiao Yi a grateful look.
Seeing the grateful expression on the girl’s face, a faint smile appeared on Xiao Yi’s lips. He then turned back and walked to an open space that was his original spot before a man had taken it when he stood up.
Seeing Xiao Yi approach, the man looked hesitant, as if he was about to stand up and give the seat back to Xiao Yi, but Xiao Yi just smiled at him and did not seem to intend to sit down, instead standing firm, slightly squinting his eyes.
Although he squinted his eyes, Xiao Yi could still feel the malevolent glares from the two n and the various curious looks from the other passengers. However, he never bothered to pay attention to them.
As for the malevolent looks from the two n, that was expected the mont he decided to intervene; blocking their way of making a living, was it not fair for them to glare and vent a bit? There was nothing really to pay attention to. As for the sympathetic or gloating looks from others, those were irrelevant to him, and he had even less reason to care.
After Xiao Yi’s hint and intervention, the identities of the two n were obvious, and almost everyone on the bus occasionally gave them wary, strange looks. Therefore, it was quite unlikely they would commit another theft soon. They were expected to leave at the next stop, but contrary to expectations, they stayed on the bus, fixating their gaze on Xiao Yi.
Seeing the clear intentions of the two n, which were written all over their faces, the passengers looking at Xiao Yi with his eyes closed couldn’t help but show a hint of sympathy. Everyone knew that this young man, by ddling this ti, was certainly bound to face so retaliation. Nowadays, it’s hard for good people. Seeing Xiao Yi still with his eyes closed and his expression calm, as if he was unaware of the danger, they all thought to themselves, no wonder this young man dared to intervene; he must be a naive fool!
The girl who Xiao Yi had warned and helped, spared herself from harm, also looked nervously and worriedly at Xiao Yi on occasion. Seeing Xiao Yi look composed and unaware, she beca increasingly worried, wanting to go up and alert Xiao Yi to flee quickly, but she hesitated and ultimately dared not approach, taking no action.
Xiao Yi certainly felt the two n’s intentions; in reality, though his eyes were closed, he was more aware of their actions than anyone else. His Divine Sense was exceptionally acute, and now, having learned a secret technique from Beichen Feng, his senses were extraordinary. Although the two n had never concealed their intentions, their looks were filled with strong hostility. (To be continued. If you like this work, feel welco to vote for it at Qidian (qidian).
