(Third update for today, a gesture of commitnt. Since the publication of this book, I have maintained at least two daily releases and occasionally three, without a single break. By this diligence, I boldly ask for your votes and collection, thank you!) ———————————— After so serious contemplation, Xiao Yi decided that for the peace and stability of the entire Z University campus, he would temporarily sacrifice one of his math classes and his noble dream of becoming a model student to skip class for the first ti in his life.
Z University’s library, located at the southeast corner of the campus, is housed in a sowhat ancient building. However, that does not affect its status as the largest library with the most comprehensive collection of books in G province, nor does it dampen the enthusiasm of the students at Z University for reading.
At three in the afternoon, when most students are in class, the library at Z University did not feel empty at all. The reading room on the second floor was fully occupied, with students either engrossed in their studies or squatting in front of rows of shelves, holding books and reading with great interest and concentration.
It has been surveyed that the library is the place most frequented by college students, taking up more of their ti than both classrooms and dormitories.
For those who love to study, this is no exaggeration. The dormitory is just a place to sleep at night, but the library might see several visits in a day. There are many benefits to reading in the library: firstly, if you encounter difficult questions, you can imdiately look up materials and solve them on the spot; secondly, the company and atmosphere can help one focus and engage more seriously with their reading; thirdly, the environnt of the library is typically much better than that of study rooms, with most libraries now being air-conditioned, which adds a layer of comfort during the hot sumr. Moreover, occasionally, one might sit next to a fellow female student and have a fortuitous romantic encounter.
Upon arriving at the library, Xiao Yi ascended from the first floor to the second, admiring the full occupancy of the two vast reading halls and inwardly praising, ’This truly is Z University, where the study atmosphere is indeed remarkable.’
However, he did not linger on the first and second floors, rely taking a glance before heading straight to the dical books section indicated in the stairway, which was on the fourth floor.
Upon entering the fourth floor’s Library Room, Xiao Yi imdiately felt a quiet and antiquely musty atmosphere wash over him, and saw rows and rows of various traditional Chinese dical books bound by threads.
As this half-floor was completely dedicated to dical books, it was much quieter than the floors below, with only a few dical students searching for books by the shelves and hardly anyone else around.
Normally, students from other disciplines are not interested in dical books, and dical studies require a strong professional background to understand the content. Even dical students might not favor these books, as most are content with mastering what is taught in class by their teachers. Very few students utilize their free ti to explore professional books in the library since dical books are often perceived as quite dry and dull.
Many people find mathematics, physics, and chemistry formulas too dry, but at least those have a logical reasoning process and are sowhat justifiable. However, many dical books lack clear rationale; they simply state that certain dicines treat certain diseases without much explanation, other than that a substance in them can cure the ailnt.
Xiao Yi passed by several shelves of modern dicine and Western dical books, arriving at a shelf filled with various old thread-bound traditional Chinese dical books, and started to examine each one.
Xiao Yi browsed quickly, glancing at the table of contents of almost every book before putting it back. He skipped many outright, only occasionally holding a book to read through carefully, sotis with a thoughtful expression, before putting it back on the shelf.
In less than two hours, he had looked through all the books on the shelf. As he placed the last book back, Xiao Yi could no longer hide his disappointnt and sighed deeply.
It seed that the few Needle Techniques ntioned by the old man might really have been lost, as he had said.
Otherwise, with the old man’s abilities, there would be no reason he couldn’t find them. Xiao Yi himself had already searched through several Library Rooms across the country, finding not only no reference to the Needle Technique but also nothing even ntioning such a thod.
However, co to think of it, are this library and the Peking University library really the most authoritative in the country with the most comprehensive collection of dical classics?
Although these two places are far better than Book City and others outside, having more truly insightful books that deeply inspired and benefited him, they were simply a dical kindergarten compared to the old man’s private library.
No wonder, yesterday at Book City, those guys mistook their acupuncture for Taiyi Divine Needle and were so astonished at Taiyi Divine Needle, which had no significant features and at best was considered an ordinary Needle Technique.
Xiao Yi glanced at the large bookshelf he had just finished browsing and began to understand the shocked and admiring expressions of the old traditional Chinese dicine doctors when they saw him perform acupuncture yesterday.
It wasn’t that they were ignorant, but that there was so little knowledge available outside.
Even the Taiyi Divine Needle, which seed very ordinary to him and which he had been required to master since he was thirteen, was described in almost mythical terms in the libraries outside, with very little actual docuntation.
Still unable to find the information he wanted, Xiao Yi didn’t want to stay in the library any longer. With a disheartened mood, he walked out of the dical Library Room and headed directly downstairs towards the library’s entrance.
"Be careful!"
"Ah!"
"Ah!"
Just as Xiao Yi stepped out of the library onto the campus path, pondering whether to go out for a stroll or head straight back to Azure Waterfront, he heard several shouts of alarm nearby.
He couldn’t help but lift his head towards the direction of the sounds. As he looked up, his face imdiately froze.
He saw an electric bicycle, which had beco very common on campus over the past few years, hurtling at high speed towards a beautiful girl wearing an old pair of jeans. The girl was standing by the edge of a high slope, a special terrain created by the library. Below the slope was another school building’s cent floor. Although the bike seed to be flying fast, by Xiao Yi’s estimation, it was probably only around 40 kiloters per hour; it wouldn’t kill soone on impact, but at this particular spot, a collision and then a fall could certainly leave her severely disabled. If the rider then jumped off and let the bike smash down as well, the girl would almost certainly be dood!
What stunned Xiao Yi wasn’t the perilous scene, but the fact that the girl who was about to be hit was the sa beautiful girl he had encountered at the school gate yesterday, who had nearly been run over by that broken van!
At that mont, he was certain that the electric bike was no accident but deliberate, possibly by the sa group who were after the girl yesterday with the van—they were out to kill her!
Otherwise, he couldn’t believe that the girl could so coincidentally encounter this incident within such a short span of ti!
