"What are you laughing at? Haven’t you heard that ’everyone has their slip-ups, even horses trip’? Just because a ball is kicked askew, what’s so strange about that?"
The boy with shoulder-length hair who was laughed at, emanating a bit of a ruffian vibe – clearly the one responsible for the skewed kick – lifted his gloomy head and gazed at the soccer ball rolling near Xiao Yi. Feeling rather vexed, he turned around and cursed at them, then when he looked up and t Xiao Yi’s gaze, it was as if the fire broiling in his belly had found an outlet. He glared fiercely at Xiao Yi and snarled, "Damn, brat, what are you staring at? Are you going to throw the ball over to your master or not?"
Hearing the ruffian boy’s words, Xiao Yi’s eyes slowly narrowed.
If soone who knew Xiao Yi very well were here, like Liu Sandao, they’d recognize that look in Xiao Yi’s eyes and know he was angry now, and they would certainly keep their distance. Otherwise, they’d be in so serious trouble.
Unfortunately, this bunch of youngsters were not Liu Sandao. They didn’t know Xiao Yi’s personality, they didn’t even recognize him or know who he was. And of course, they also couldn’t see the expression on Xiao Yi’s face.
Seeing that Xiao Yi hadn’t moved and was still standing there dumbfounded, the boys next to him imdiately started shouting at Xiao Yi loudly and without any courtesy.
"Kid, Third Young Master is calling you! Hurry up and kick the ball over!"
"Kid, are you deaf? Didn’t you hear what Third Young Master said? Quickly kick the ball over!"
"......"
Hearing the uncouth shouts of the group of youngsters, Xiao Yi’s eyes narrowed even more, and the corners of his mouth began to curl up in a faint, barely there smile. His gaze shifted to the pricey-looking soccer ball beside him, and he walked over slowly. Reaching the ball, he lightly placed his foot on top of it.
"Damn, so you’re not deaf after all. If you had listened earlier, I wouldn’t have had to call out so much, you know," one of them said.
"Exactly, there’s always so idiot like that," another piped in.
"Probably just so bookworm that’s read himself stupid, hahaha..."
"......"
As the boys watched Xiao Yi approach the soccer ball and put his foot out, a smirk crossed their faces. They each made a disdainful gesture towards Xiao Yi and started to curse and jeer.
They thought that Xiao Yi couldn’t hear them from that distance. And of course, they didn’t care if he did or not. In their eyes, even if Xiao Yi heard them, it didn’t matter one bit. Just as they had said, in their view, Xiao Yi was nothing but a common idiot bookworm.
Hearing their whispered conversations and seeing the wild laughs on their faces, Xiao Yi’s eyes beca re slits. His smile grew broader, and his toe gently nudged the ball. He looked up, asured the distance to the boy who had previously kicked the ball, now sneering at him from the side, and finally made his move.
"You little shit, hurry u..."
"Thwack!"
The long-haired boy who saw Xiao Yi move up to the ball, apparently making preparations by shifting the ball back and forth, showed an impatient look, and was about to shout at Xiao Yi again to hurry up.
But before he could finish his sentence, not even managing to spit out the last word, his pupils suddenly contracted. His entire facial expression froze in place.
With Xiao Yi’s kick, the white soccer ball seed to suddenly transform into a bolt of white lightning, drawing a fast white arc across the sky and heading straight for his chest!
He didn’t even have ti to react before the white streak was upon him!
Imdiately after, he felt an unbelievably powerful force strike his chest as if hamred by a massive mallet. His entire body flew backward and upward, soaring for nearly half a second, almost two ters high before once again slamming heavily onto the ground.
Overwheld by an unprecedented agony he’d never experienced in his life, he fell into unconsciousness. Before blacking out, his ears faintly caught the crisp sound of bones breaking in his chest.
Everybody around the long-haired boy was completely stunned by the sudden turn of events, their minds numb. For a mont, they even forgot their own nas, just standing there, gaping.
The football knocked soone flying?
Could their eyes be deceiving them?
Were they hallucinating?
In everyone’s heart, these questions echoed over and over.
"Third Brother!"
After a while, soone in the crowd finally snapped out of it and rushed to the boy lying on the ground, shouting in sheer panic.
"Old Third!"
"Third Brother!"
"Third Young Master!"
"......"
Following that cry, the rest of them ca to their senses. They surged toward the fallen long-haired boy, shouting loudly.
"Third Young Master has passed out."
"What do we do, what do we do!"
"......"
After shouting for a while, the crowd again erupted into a series of frantic, panicky calls. This group of teenagers, evidently facing such an incident for the first ti, stared at the unconscious boy bleeding from the mouth and for a mont couldn’t even rember the common sense of taking him to the hospital or calling 120.
"If you don’t want him to die, I suggest you take him to the hospital," suggested Xiao Yi, looking indifferently at the panicking crowd who had lost the arrogance they had minutes ago; a faint sneer of disdain and mockery curling at his lips.
Initially, he had thought that if they had accidentally kicked the ball over, he might just warn them that playing football like this in such a place could be dangerous and could easily harm others, and then let it be.
But when he turned around and heard their tone, listened to their arrogant words, he was utterly enraged. Such attitudes from this group of people were simply too detestable!
