In this world, there aren’t many people that Xiao Yi genuinely respects from the bottom of his heart, that he considers noble.
But Shangguan Mufeng is definitely one of them!
Or rather, the entire Shangguan Family counts as one!
He also believed that the person, after hearing what he had just said, should absolutely be unable to continue staying with the Qian Family.
Such a talent, who had not easily reached the Bone Tempering Middle Tier, was also quite rare, and he did not want to see such talent wasted; if this matter were spread, it was possible that the person would face punishnt, after all, their previous conversation had revealed quite a bit of information.
He was very clear that there were things in this country that even Shangguan Mufeng and the Shangguan Family could not change.
Even if it would not provoke punishnt, drawing the attention of certain interested parties was not a good thing either.
However, in reality, his worries were indeed superfluous; the young chauffeur had been in such shock before that he had barely heard any of their conversation, and had not even caught the na of the master.
"Thank you, Mr. Xiao..."
The young driver finally breathed a sigh of relief and gratefully spoke to Xiao Yi.
Soon, the car ca to a smooth stop in front of a villa at Azure Waterfront; stepping out of the car, Xiao Yi’s gaze fell upon a dented spot at the front of the vehicle and he smiled at the driver, "When you head back, could you please take it to a shop for maintenance? I’ll cover the cost. Ask them to fix this."
As he spoke, Xiao Yi took out a stack of cash from his clothes, roughly two or three thousand, and handed it to the driver, "This is all I have. I’m not sure if it’s enough. If it isn’t, you might have to front so of it yourself, heh heh."
"It should be enough, and if there’s any excess, I will personally return it to Mr. Xiao."
The young driver did not expect Xiao Yi to be so considerate, and his face involuntarily showed a trace of gratitude.
"That’s good; any surplus you can keep as a tip, there’s no need to bring it back to , heh heh."
Xiao Yi laughed, gave him a nod, and then turned to walk back into the villa.
Watching Xiao Yi’s retreating figure, the young driver couldn’t help but show a look of gratitude; he never expected that soone not only of distinguished status but also possessing exceptional true kung fu would be so humble, so kind and cordial to soone as insignificant as himself. He stayed for a good while, watching until Xiao Yi returned, then slowly started the car and drove away.
The entrance of the Provincial People’s Hospital always seed bustling, no matter the ti. The vast parking lot was almost completely filled with cars, and the front gate teed with people, nearly impossible to traverse.
Xiao Yi got off the bus, following the steps of the crowded flow, and walked towards the hospital’s inpatient building.
A thought unavoidably erged in his heart; he rembered an article he had once read in a magazine so ti ago, written by a foreign author. That article—a line in particular—expressed an aspiration for true love, compassion for human illness, and a thirst for knowledge, the three great actions of his life.
Looking at the many faces marked with despair, sadness, happiness, or relief, he felt human illness was indeed a very pitiable matter.
However, he was ultimately not a savior. What he could do was to heal so of the people around him, to alleviate so of their suffering. For many others, he could only, like everyone else, offer his sympathy.
Or perhaps, I should do sothing more within my power.
When his gaze once again t a face of despair, Xiao Yi for the first ti questioned his previous thoughts and felt the impulse to act and to do sothing.
But the thought was cut short before he could give it further consideration.
In front of him, Dr. Zhang and Mr. Ma had both co forward to greet him.
"Doctor Xiao, you’ve finally arrived!"
Mr. Ma, taking the lead ahead of Dr. Zhang, hurriedly approached Xiao Yi with more excitent, his face full of enthusiasm and joy. As he ca up, he took Xiao Yi’s hand warmly in a tight grip.
At any ti, a capable person who can help others will always be the most respected.
For Mr. Ma, Xiao Yi at that mont was the only one who could lend assistance, and thus was the person he respected the most.
If three days ago he still harbored so doubts about Xiao Yi, willing only to give him a try, not fully trusting, then at this mont, he had certainly co to trust him completely.
If he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, he wouldn’t have dared to believe that traditional Chinese dicine could indeed be so miraculous!
In just a short two or three days, the symptoms of his father had drastically improved, to say the least. It was as though his father had been given a second lease on life, an effect that was visibly apparent!
Thinking about how he had almost missed the opportunity to et a Divine Doctor because of judging by appearances and age, he felt truly grateful as he glanced at Dr. Zhang, who stood by his side. He silently resolved to support him in any way he could in return for this favor.
"Mr. Ma, Dr. Zhang, what brings you two here? Surely you didn’t co especially to welco ?"
Xiao Yi quickly went forward to greet them, shaking Mr. Ma’s hand and giving Dr. Zhang a smile.
"Of course, Xiao Yi, let tell you, as soon as Mr. Ma received your call saying you would co, he ca straight down here to wait. I’m quite envious of the special treatnt you’re getting!"
Dr. Zhang joked with a smile.
"I’m truly humbled, Mr. Ma, you’re too kind. I’ve already been to the ward; you could have waited there for , there was no need for you to co in person."
Upon hearing Dr. Zhang’s words, Xiao Yi felt a chill in his heart and quickly looked at Mr. Ma with politeness.
He knew about Mr. Ma’s extraordinary status. To think that soone of his standing would treat him, a modest doctor, with such respect, Xiao Yi’s view of Mr. Ma changed, and he couldn’t help but elevate Mr. Ma in his mind once again.
Such behavior could only indicate one of two things, either he was exemplifying utmost filial piety by humbling himself to care for his father, or it demonstrated that he had an uncommonly broad-mindedness. Regardless of which it was, both indicated one thing—Mr. Ma was truly exceptional.
Anyone else, even if they knew Xiao Yi could cure his father’s illness, might not have treated him with such respect. After all, given their status and position, they would assu that Xiao Yi would treat their illness with the utmost dedication with or without such gestures.
"How could that be? Mr. Xiao, you’ve co all the way here to treat my father, and I’m endlessly grateful. Such courtesy cannot be omitted. Besides, don’t take everything Zhang says seriously; we’ve only been down here for a little while, it’s not as exaggerated as he makes it out to be, haha."
Mr. Ma let out a hearty laugh.
"Hehe, I think we should stop with the pleasantries here and go see Elder Mr. Ma instead."
Xiao Yi laughed a little, not saying much else, and turned his gaze forward.
"Excellent, excellent, this way please, Doctor Xiao. My father has been looking forward to your visit, haha."
Mr. Ma observed the calm expression on Xiao Yi’s face, his eyes revealing a mix of surprise and admiration. Over the years, he’d co across many talented youngsters, including the outstanding talents within the Ma Family, but none seed to match up to this young man before him.
Despite being so young and receiving such treatnt, Xiao Yi remained calm and composed and didn’t forget his professional duties, maintaining a clear sense of self without the slightest hint of arrogance.
Just this quality alone was exceedingly rare!
No wonder he, at such a young age, already possessed dical skill far surpassing that of ordinary people!
However, it was unknown which national master had taught such a talented disciple.
Mr. Ma pondered Xiao Yi’s background and identity in his mind.
But, despite the flood of thoughts in his heart, his face quickly regained composure, wearing a smile as he spoke.
"By the way, how has Elder Mr. Ma been over the past couple of days...?"
Xiao Yi smiled and began to ask Mr. Ma about various details concerning his father’s condition over the past couple of days, including his diet, mood, sleep, bowel movents, urination, and other life details reflecting his physical state. He went through each question thoroughly without omitting a single one.
Mr. Ma, listening to Xiao Yi’s sequence of questions, did not dare to slack off, answering each question with the utmost attention to detail.
For each answer Mr. Ma gave, Xiao Yi would nod his head and sotis ponder for a mont. By the ti they were about to reach Elder Mr. Ma’s VIP hospital room, Xiao Yi had already ford a basic understanding of Elder Mr. Ma’s condition based on Mr. Ma’s responses.
Mr. Ma, walking beside Xiao Yi, saw the expressions on his face and, although he didn’t know that Xiao Yi had already derived so conclusions from his answers, was increasingly filled with respect for Xiao Yi.
He realized yet again that the young man before him, although very young, was not a simple character but rather a truly capable young man.
It wasn’t just the ticulous nature of his questions, which appeared to be well-considered rather than casual; more importantly, he saw in Xiao Yi a deanor not common for soone his age.
