"You, you, you!"
The girl, bound by Qin Heng with the blanket, struggled to breathe. Her eyes were wide with terror as she stared at him. She rembered the "consequences" Qin Heng had ntioned. She didn't know what those consequences entailed, but she was certain it was best never to find out.
But she didn't dare to cry.
"I'll talk! I'll talk! I'll tell you anything you want to know!" the girl almost shouted, using all her strength. Then, gasping heavily, her slender body trembled. She was clearly still terrified.
"Good." Qin Heng nodded gently and loosened the blanket. He then smiled and said, "Don't think about escaping, or you will bear the sa consequences."
The girl lying on the bed stiffened. After feeling the python-like blanket loosen, her first instinct was to flee through the door. But, hearing Qin Heng's words, she was bewildered again. Thinking of Qin Heng's terrifying and strange thods from before, could she really escape? The chances seed slim. And even if she did escape, where could she go?
With that thought, she couldn't help but feel sad again. Sighing, she said, "I won't run away. Your na is Qin Heng, right? My na is Jiang Luwei."
Earlier, at the front desk, Jiang Luwei had seen Qin Heng's ID card, so she naturally knew his na.
"You're quite observant." Qin Heng sat on the bed, looking at her, and said lightly, "Why did you run away? And why did you want to stay with
and even try to use hypnotic spray?"
"I... I am running away from an arranged marriage," Jiang Luwei lowered her head and said. "My family wants to marry
off to an Englishman to secure a close business partnership. I refused, but they planned to forcibly send
to England, so I had to run away. Initially, I just wanted to get away for a bit and hide. But then I saw you... and I had an idea. My plan was to use the hypnotic spray on you, then take off your clothes. I'd remove my top too. Then, with both of us under a blanket, I'd take a photo of us in bed and send it to the Englishman. That way, he'd surely call off the marriage."
"..." Qin Heng was montarily stunned, then chuckled. "That's quite an imaginative idea, but it's playing with fire. If I had any ill intent, this charade would have beco very real for you by now."
This charade becoming real... Jiang Luwei's cheeks instantly turned crimson. She lowered her head, fiddling with her fingers, too flustered to speak. If this really had to happen... then it would be happening right now. Although Jiang Luwei was inexperienced in such matters, she wasn't entirely naive. Subconsciously, so rather adult images flashed through her mind, startling her so much that she quickly shook her head and waved her hands in dismissal.
"No, no, no! It's just an act! Don't make it real, please don't make it real!" Then she suddenly paused, looking at Qin Heng in surprise, and asked doubtfully, "You believe ? Most people would probably doubt what I just said."
Although Jiang Luwei knew she was telling the truth, the scenario was all too similar to those in novels. Most people, upon hearing it, would first assu it was fabricated! They wouldn't believe it at all!
Yet this young man, who looked like a high school student, actually believed her? Without the slightest hint of doubt.
If not for what had just happened, Jiang Luwei might have thought Qin Heng was naive and kind. But now, she wouldn't dream of thinking that.
"I have my ways to tell if you're lying," Qin Heng said with a light laugh. "What do you plan to do next?"
As an Immortal Emperor, Qin Heng's Divine Sense was incredibly powerful! He could perceive any slight emotional fluctuation from Jiang Luwei. Qin Heng knew with perfect clarity whether she was lying.
Jiang Luwei looked at Qin Heng and remained silent for a long ti. After a while, she let out a deep sigh and said, "Thank you for believing in . As for the future, I don't know. I might just wander aimlessly. Regardless, I absolutely refuse to marry an Englishman."
"Why not?" Qin Heng looked into Jiang Luwei's eyes and asked, "As far as I know, quite a few girls want to marry foreigners."
"That's because they're superficial and self-degrading, willing to stoop so low!" Jiang Luwei suddenly grew agitated. She stood up and declared to Qin Heng, "I am Chinese, a child of Huaxia, a descendant of Yan and Huang, the noble progeny of the Heavenly God! Those foreigners are re uncivilized Barbarians, with their varied eye and skin colors—utterly base. In ancient tis, they wouldn't even have been qualified to set foot in Huaxia! How could I possibly marry soone like that?"
As she proclaid her identity, her face radiated imnse pride—pride in who she was, pride in her heritage. She was a stark contrast to many young people today who idolized foreign things and pandered to outside influences.
"Then you can stay with
for the ti being." Qin Heng nodded slightly and said calmly, "As long as you're by my side, no one can force you to do anything, and certainly no one can marry you off to those uncivilized Barbarians."
"Pfft." Jiang Luwei couldn't help but laugh. Looking at Qin Heng, she gently shook her head and said, "You really do talk like a high school student. Brute force can't solve every problem in this world. Still, I appreciate your kindness."
As she spoke, her expression grew dim.
In Jiang Luwei's view, Qin Heng was, at best, a handso high school student with considerable strength, possibly from a sowhat wealthy family. She believed he couldn't possibly help with the kind of trouble she was in.
"No." Qin Heng, however, shook his head and said flatly, "There is nothing in this world that I, Qin Heng, cannot accomplish, and no one who can defy my will."
"..." Jiang Luwei stared at Qin Heng blankly. For a mont, she suddenly felt he was like the Prince Charming from a fairy tale, co to save the princess. For an instant, she almost truly believed this young man before her could help her escape her predicant.
But that mont passed, and she snapped back to reality, shaking her head vigorously to clear it.
This is reality! Not a fairy tale! Her family, the Jiangs, was one of the top eight prominent families in Sichuan and Shu! And the Englishman's side involved a noble family with a lineage stretching back hundreds of years in England! Both were colossal powers! Faced with such entities, what could a high school student from a rely sowhat wealthy family possibly do? Absolutely nothing!
The more Jiang Luwei thought about it, the more she despaired. Her heart grew heavy, and the prospect of marrying an Englishman filled her with imnse sadness.
Subconsciously, her gaze turned to Qin Heng, who was sitting on the bed. His handso features, tall stature, and well-proportioned physique made him undeniably attractive. He also possessed a unique aura that inexplicably drew people to him.
He drove here, so he must be at least eighteen. I'm twenty, only two years older...
Jiang Luwei felt conflicted. Biting her lip lightly, she finally took a deep breath, a blush rising on her cheeks. Suddenly, she said to Qin Heng, "I... I'm going to take a bath."
A man and a woman, alone in the sa room. When a girl says she's going to take a bath under such circumstances, the implication is obvious!
