Lu Chen reined in his thoughts and asked cautiously.
"Since you didn’t co out, you must have been imrsed in it. As an elder, I certainly would not disturb you. After all, this shows that you really enjoy alchemy. I wouldn’t want to lose soone with such a great talent for it!"
Gui Zhuo was speaking the truth. If Lu Chen had truly developed a great interest in alchemy, he would have wished for nothing more than for Lu Chen to switch allegiances and take him, Gui Zhuo, as his master!
However, such a thing was not allowed within the Casting Gear Pavilion. Lu Chen could learn skills from others, but he could only have one master, which was Zhu Chongjiu!
From the other’s words, Lu Chen also gleaned the information he wanted—that the other party was not aware of the abnormality that had occurred to him before!
He breathed a slight sigh of relief.
"Third Elder, I should return this pill scripture to you for now. After I co back from the Haotian Secret Realm, I’ll study the way of alchemy with you in earnest!"
Lu Chen handed back the "Hateful Heaven Pill Scripture." Gui Zhuo received it with a happy chuckle, his eyes filled with even more appreciation for Lu Chen. "Good, then I will be waiting for your triumphant return!"
Having said that, he reached into his chest and took out several porcelain bottles, placing them in Lu Chen’s hands, "Take these pills for ergencies; you can consu them."
Lu Chen glanced briefly and noticed that each porcelain bottle had a small note attached with tiny characters—evidently to ensure Lu Chen would recognize the pills and understand their properties.
After thanking Gui Zhuo, Lu Chen took his leave.
Having achieved his main goal at Osmanthus Dan Peak, it was ti for him to leave!
"By the way, Lu Chen, would you like to take you back?"
Gui Zhuo rembered that if Lu Chen wanted to return to Zhaixing Peak, he could only do so on foot, whereas if he gave Lu Chen a lift, they could fly directly, saving a lot of ti.
Lu Chen did not stand on ceremony, bowing with his hands in front of his chest, "I would trouble you then, Third Elder."
"Not at all!"
Gui Zhuo laughed heartily, seemingly in a very good mood. He waved his hand lightly, and Lu Chen rose into the air on the spot. Then, Gui Zhuo carried him along as they flew to the outside of the cave dwelling.
Soon, Lu Chen had returned to Zhaixing Peak!
On Zhaixing Peak, there were now only two people, Zhu Chongjiu and Lu Chen. The surroundings were empty and eerily quiet.
After looking around, Gui Zhuo said, "Lu Chen, could you relay a ssage to your master for ?"
"Third Elder, please speak!"
Lu Chen steadied himself and said.
"Now that Zhaixing Peak is at least the seventh vein and boasts these mountains full of spiritual trees, wouldn’t it be a pity not to use them for artifact refining? Tell your master to start accepting disciples! There are also so outer sect disciples in the sect who want to learn artifact refining; it’s not a bad idea to take so in."
Of course, Gui Zhuo was also planning for his own future. Even if his own plans couldn’t be realized later on, this could win him so favor with Zhu Chongjiu and Lu Chen.
"Third Elder, I will rember this," Lu Chen replied.
Gui Zhuo nodded, left with a smile, and then Lu Chen entered his cave dwelling.
Upon reaching the outside of Zhu Chongjiu’s secluded spot, he activated the Hateful Heaven Pupil Technique and saw that Zhu Chongjiu had already taken the Nourishing Spirit Pill. The refining of the dicinal power was also at its final monts.
Lu Chen waited until Zhu Chongjiu finished his cultivation and erged from the secluded space.
"Disciple pays respect to Master. How are you feeling now, Master?"
Lu Chen deactivated the Hateful Heaven Pupil Technique, fearing Zhu Chongjiu might notice it.
"Feeling alright," Zhu Chongjiu touched his head. The effect of the Nourishing Spirit Pill was indeed good, making him no longer feel as lost as before.
"Eh... Lu Chen, have you reached the mid-Foundation Establishnt stage?"
Zhu Chongjiu, naturally more concerned about Lu Chen than other Core Formation Stage cultivators, was both shocked and pleased to notice that his realm had made a breakthrough.
Lu Chen said with a smile, "Master, I suppose I had so good luck. I had my breakthrough next to Elder Ning’s fire pit. But, Master, I’m saying to others that I made my breakthrough while refining artifacts; you mustn’t slip up and say otherwise."
"Wait, what did you just say? You had your breakthrough at Ning Changzhong’s place?"
Zhu Chongjiu paused, then exclaid in amazent. Recalling the two tis that Ninefold Peak and Zhaixing Peak had been attacked by fire and had finally absorbed it, how could he not realize that Lu Chen broke through using Earth Fire!
"Yes," Lu Chen didn’t plan on hiding it and said, "Master, it seems like the spiritual dicine I took before makes extrely sensitive to fire. Every ti I go near a new fire pit, I can absorb a different kind of fire power!"
Zhu Chongjiu perked up and asked seriously, "Then if you... were to visit all the peaks, could you possibly breakthrough to the Core Formation Stage on the spot?"
Lu Chen was moved, as his master actually took the initiative to consider the problem!
It seed that his damaged soul had at least partly recovered.
