"Crack!"

Following a thunderous boom, a cage suddenly ford beneath Ning ngyao’s feet.

It completely trapped her within.

At the sa ti, the eight puppets that had just been restrained transford into eight demonic blades, slamming toward the cage in the middle.

In just an instant, they pierced through the prison.

"ng Yao!"

Xu Zhi Rou, still fending off the other curse casters, couldn’t spare any effort to help.

Seeing Ning ngyao sustain a severe injury, she scread with all her might.

"Don’t worry, she’s fine."

Just then, Lin Fan’s voice reached her ears.

He approached Xu Zhi Rou with a smile, calm and composed.

With a wave of his hand, more than a dozen onrushing curse casters collapsed to the ground, instantly paralyzed.

Having lost control, they also lost control of their bodies.

"You’ve finally decided to take action."

Seeing Ning ngyao ’killed,’ Beitiao Qian Naizi sneered at the corner of her mouth.

This guy had finally stopped watching from the sidelines.

"Don’t worry, you won’t be my enemy," Lin Fan said, glancing at Beitiao Qian Naizi with indescribable contempt.

"What, are you planning to surrender? Being my dog is indeed your only way to live," Beitiao Qian Naizi, bolstered by the curse casters’ augntation, was absolutely confident.

"You’re wrong, what I an is, you’re not even worthy of being my opponent," Lin Fan said just before the wooden prison began to shake.

Following that, the demonic blades that had penetrated it were forcibly ejected.

Imdiately after, seven fox tails exploded forth once again, forcefully shattering the cage.

And standing in the middle, Ning ngyao glared furiously at Beitiao Qian Naizi.

"You’re not dead yet, I didn’t expect you to have so skill!" Beitiao Qian Naizi squinted her eyes, having not anticipated Ning ngyao to be so powerful.

To withstand the assault of the demonic blades.

"You have no idea what I’m capable of, I’ll see to it that you won’t survive today!" Ning ngyao said, ready to charge forward, but Lin Fan held her back, "That’s enough, let’s end this ga here and move on to serious matters now; she is not our target."

"Not deal with her?"

Ning ngyao looked at Lin Fan incredulously, not understanding the aning of his words.

"It’s not about ignoring her, it’s just that soone else will deal with her!" Lin Fan said with a smile, raising his hand and unleashing a gust of qi wind.

It struck directly on a statue wielding a heavy sword a hundred ters away.

With a booming sound, the entire hall began to shake.

At the sa ti, twelve statues each raised the stone swords in their hands.

The great swords, each weighing a hundred tons, caused the ground to tremble violently with each inch they were lifted.

Before long, it beca difficult for everyone to stand steady.

"What’s going on!"

Ning ngyao and Xu Zhi Rou could only hold on tightly to Lin Fan’s arms.

Watching the scene of rolling rubble before them.

"The true Drought is coming out!" Lin Fan said with a beaming smile as he watched everything around him.

He had just completely deciphered the large formation.

"Boom..."

Finally, as all twelve swords were raised, the ground shook violently.

The next mont, the ground sank abruptly.

"What’s happening!"

This scene made Beitiao Qian Naizi panic as well.

Her eyes widened with terror as she watched the stone statue grow more distant.

The entire hall seed to have been devoured, plunging into an endless abyss.

"You wanted to possess the body of the Drought, didn’t you? I’m taking you to see it now," Lin Fan said, smiling.

The descent was like riding an elevator, and Lin Fan watched Beitiao Qian Naizi with a smile.

This was just the beginning.

"I have already succeeded in the possession... I have obtained the body of the Drought maiden; there can’t be another Drought!"

Beitiao Qian Naizi naturally didn’t believe Lin Fan’s words.

But the sudden change truly terrified her.

"The body you’ve taken is rely that of a Drought’s handmaiden. At best, she’s a servant to the Drought. If the Drought were really so weak, it wouldn’t qualify as one of the Nine Corpses," Lin Fan remarked.

Feeling the descent slow, Lin Fan knew the real spectacle was about to begin.

Finally, with a loud bang, the hall ca to a stop.

And at that mont, what was overhead was now pitch black.

Their fall had been several hundred ters.

"Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh..."

In the midst of the darkness, a spark suddenly lit up brightly.

Illuminating the vast hall.

It was then that everyone saw that what they’d thought was the great hall was actually just a small core area.

Countless lights around them ford sothing resembling a grandstand.

Behind each lit candle, there sat a mummified corpse, cross-legged.

Their ancient, tattered clothes were damaged, but the shriveled bodies still maintained their pre-death posture.

The hollow skulls were frightening to behold.

"This... there must be hundreds of corpses... who are these people?" Ning ngyao asked Lin Fan, her nerves on edge.

The corpses seated in this cavern, over a dozen stories high—whence had they co?

"They are all frenzied devotees of the Drought, and his clansn, too. Waiting here, they must be anticipating the Drought’s awakening to lead them back into the world of the living. It’s ironic that the Drought Tomb, naturally averse to water, would use water as its driving chanism. It seems I’ll need to pay attention to the desert when searching for the Water Corpse," Lin Fan mused nonchalantly, while the others were extrely tense.

Apart from these mummified corpses, there were two massive archways to the left and right.

The archways, over ten ters tall, were shrouded in darkness.

Chilling drafts flowed out of them, sending shivers down one’s spine.

"Clang, clang..."

As they were about to uncover the secrets in the darkness, the sound of tinkling ornants approached.

Following that, from within the pathway, erged hundreds of won with identical figures and appearances.

All dressed in red, with vacant eyes and stiff limbs, yet their faces remained tender and soft.

"This... they’re all Drought maidens..." Ning ngyao realized as she saw their faces looked exactly like the current Beitiao Qian Naizi’s.

All dressed in bridal attires, with embroidered shoes on their feet.

Their jade-like hands had long, sharp nails.

"Exactly, they are the handmaidens of the Drought," Lin Fan said mockingly as he watched Beitiao Qian Naizi, frozen in place. "Now do you understand? All your efforts have resulted in becoming just one of many handmaidens. Do you still think there’s anything grand about this body?"

"Impossible... impossible!"

She had always believed she had taken possession of one of the formidable Nine Corpses born from the heavens and earth, yet she turned out to be a re handmaiden.

This made Beitiao Qian Naizi furious as she couldn’t accept that the body was so ordinary.

"Handmaiden, won’t you hurry back to your place and serve your master?"

Lin Fan, arms crossed, watched as a large number of handmaidens walked towards Beitiao Qian Naizi.

Clearly, she had beco the outlier, and her fate was now to be an offering.

"No... impossible... I am the Drought... I am the Drought... all of you die!"

The maddened Beitiao Qian Naizi let out a roar as nurous threads, fine like spider silk, whipped out furiously.

She was set on destroying this place, obliterating everyone within it.

Then, she would be the only one.
