"How co you know a foreign language?"
Ning ngyao, holding the steering wheel, excitedly looked at Lin Fan.
If it weren’t for his intervention today, the consequences of signing that agreent would’ve been unthinkable.
"When I was in the army, I spent years abroad. If I didn’t know so foreign language, I would’ve starved to death a long ti ago."
Lin Fan leaned back in his seat, his gaze fixed on what lay ahead.
"Which military unit is stationed abroad all year round?"
Ning ngyao looked at Lin Fan with confusion.
Since when did we have troops stationed overseas?
"There are so things I can’t say. It’s a matter of discipline. All I can tell you is that knowing a foreign language is just the most basic survival skill."
Lin Fan’s eyes were on the road ahead, but his thoughts seed to drift back to those war-torn tis.
The Wolf Teeth Special Combat Brigade’s operational duties mostly involved overseas combat.
Decoding docunts, recon behind enemy lines, intelligence gathering—that was all just the most basic of skills.
As the leader of the Wolf Teeth, he certainly possessed these abilities.
"Okay, keep your secrets. But anyway, I really thank you. Otherwise, today’s outco... I shudder to think. Consider this a debt I owe you."
Ning ngyao pouted as she spoke.
"So how do you plan to repay ?"
Lin Fan turned his head to look at the beautiful Ning ngyao.
Last night, they shared a bed.
He wondered if this ti they might take things a step further.
"Not making you sleep on the floor would be the best payback."
Ning ngyao rolled her eyes at him.
How could soone bask so shalessly in a bit of sunshine like this?
"Didn’t we agree you’d sleep on the floor? I took pity on you and let you into my bed. Now are you planning to oust from my own nest?" Lin Fan said with a mischievous smile.
"Fine, I’ll sleep on the floor tonight and give the bed back to you."
Ning ngyao pouted, looking utterly indifferent.
Rembering Lin Fan’s mood-killing words from last night made her blood boil.
"No, no, no, just joking," Lin Fan said, his gaze, however, fell on the rearview mirror to the right.
He frowned slightly, noticing that two SUVs had been following them for a while now.
"Annoying, I don’t even know if you an that."
Unaware of any danger, Ning ngyao continued to drive forward.
As their car was about to cross an intersection,
an elderly lady with glasses and graying hair suddenly walked across the zebra crossing.
Seeing the pedestrian, Ning ngyao instinctively slowed down.
"Don’t stop, hit her!"
But unexpectedly, Lin Fan shouted loudly from beside her.
"What are you joking about!"
Having not realized the danger, Ning ngyao continued to press on the brakes.
The car quickly reduced speed, heading towards the zebra crossing.
"I’m not joking, go through, don’t stop!" Lin Fan pressed down on the steering wheel and shouted loudly.
"No!"
In her panic, Ning ngyao still slamd on the brakes.
The car ca to a complete stop just before the zebra crossing.
But at that mont, the old lady suddenly fell to the ground.
"Drive, don’t mind her!" Lin Fan urgently advised, seeing the approaching SUVs in the rearview mirror.
"Why are you acting so strange? It’s wrong to leave without helping soone. What if the traffic police say I hit and ran, what then!"
As Ning ngyao spoke, she already reached out to open the driver’s door.
Although they were four or five ters away, seeing the elder’s difficulty,
she couldn’t control her urge to help.
"Don’t get out of the car, sothing isn’t right here,"
Lin Fan grabbed Ning ngyao’s wrist firmly and spoke seriously.
"I know you’re worried she’s scamming us, but I have a dash cam, and there’s surveillance at the intersection too. We can always get the footage to prove our innocence if sothing happens. But if it’s real, we have to save her. We shouldn’t destroy our values of respecting the elderly just because of a few bad apples."
Ning ngyao shook off Lin Fan’s arm and got out of the car anyway,
heading straight for the old lady.
"With your virtues intact, your life could be gone,"
Realizing the danger, Lin Fan quickly opened his door and jumped out of the car.
As the two of them approached the elderly woman, the SUVs that had been following then finally caught up.
"Granny, are you alright?"
Ning ngyao quickly walked towards the old lady and bent down to help her up.
"Young girl, you are truly kind...good deeds bring good rewards!"
The frail old lady, hunched over, suddenly raised her head, revealing a face full of stubble.
Following that, the right hand pulled a chilly blade from the bamboo basket.
It thrust directly at the unprepared Ning ngyao.
"Ah!"
As the cold light approached, Ning ngyao was already unable to dodge.
Just as she wanted to close her eyes, a strange force suddenly ca from behind her.
Lin Fan, who grabbed her clothes, forcefully pulled her backward.
At the sa ti, his right hand reached out, seizing the sharp blade.
"Old lady, you should shave your beard."
A cold gleam flashed in Lin Fan’s eyes.
He stepped forward, and his right foot kicked directly at the man disguised as a woman.
Amid the whistling of the strong wind, his foot landed squarely on the imposter’s neck.
With a muffled thud, the man was kicked five or six ters away.
Only then did he fall to the ground, rolling a few tis before lying there motionless.
It was unclear whether he was dead or alive.
"How could this be!"
Seeing the dagger that had fallen to the ground, Ning ngyao gasped in shock.
Had it not been for Lin Fan’s quick reaction, she would have t her doom.
"Didn’t I tell you to bump into them? Don’t you know that not listening results in a spanked bottom?"
Lin Fan turned his head, looking towards the SUV behind him.
The car door was pushed open, and a dozen n wielding machetes charged towards the two.
These guys, not wasting a single word, were intent on killing.
The leader was a step ahead, his machete chopping straight at Ning ngyao’s crown.
There was not a hint of compassion or rcy in it.
"Get lost!"
A cold shout ca, and Lin Fan’s leg whipped out.
Forcefully, it landed on the attacker’s chest.
"Crack!"
Along with the sound of breaking bones.
The hefty man, weighing over two hundred pounds, was sent flying out like a rubber ball.
He crashed into several other strong n who were following.
"What’s happening?"
Everything happened too fast for Ning ngyao to react.
But Lin Fan was already engaged in a fight against more than a dozen n on his own.
"Stop asking, it’s definitely enemies coming for us, hold on tight to !"
Lin Fan couldn’t just leave Ning ngyao by herself.
With his left hand, he scooped Ning ngyao up in his arms.
Then, with consecutive kicks, he advanced towards the oncoming assailants.
His legs whipped around, sending people tumbling through the air.
"Kill him!"
"Leave no survivors!"
Seeing the two surrounded, the gang beca even more aggressive and triumphant.
Their machetes glead coldly, aid at vital spots on their targets.
"Hold tight!"
With Ning ngyao in his arms, Lin Fan suddenly threw her out.
In the panic, Ning ngyao only felt her sharp high heel kick sothing hard.
"Thump!"
Just one kick, and it landed squarely on soone’s body.
The heel instantly left a bloody hole, and the person scread pitifully before falling to the ground.
"Ah..."
anwhile, Ning ngyao had beco Lin Fan’s weapon.
As they whirled up and down, the wind howled around them.
Dizzy and disoriented, Ning ngyao never imagined that her high heels could also beco a weapon.
After several flips and turns, Lin Fan finally held Ning ngyao in his arms again.
"Have you had your fill of touching ? Put down quickly, I’m getting dizzy!"
Ning ngyao covered her mouth, broke free from his embrace, and staggered to squat on the ground.
The spinning world around her nearly made her throw up.
