"Achoo!"

As Lin Fan pushed open the door to the study,

he couldn’t help but sneeze.

This sudden sound prompted Ning ngyao, who had been dozing off on the desk, to sit up in a hurry.

"When did you get back?"

Upon checking the ti, it was already late into the night.

Ning ngyao stretched and said.

"I haven’t been back for long, I had a strong sll of alcohol on , so I took a shower."

Lin Fan rubbed his nose and said.

"You’re not coming down with a cold, are you?"

Ning ngyao asked with concern.

"No, perhaps soone bad was talking behind my back."

Lin Fan rubbed his nose again,

curiously looking at the thick stack of topographic maps on the desk.

"Is this for a new project at the company?"

"What are you talking about, these are the underwater mapping graphs of lakes nearby Jiangning, all insider information I got by pulling so strings."

Ning ngyao imdiately perked up when speaking about this matter.

"Based on the existing intelligence, the water body must et several requirents: the underwater environnt must be extrely complex, unsuitable for diving with oxygen tanks, it must be far from the city, and it can’t be in the deep sea, so besides underwater topography graphs, I have also specifically asked for opinions from old-tirs at three diving clubs in town."

"You’ve thought of everything, even considering diving clubs—impressive, very impressive!"

Lin Fan said with a smile, giving a thumbs-up gesture.

This angle was sothing he had never considered.

"Of course, when I was in college, I was quite the enthusiast, so I’m sowhat of a veteran in the diving circles; hence I contacted so of the big shots in the industry. They did indeed suggest a few water bodies that et these characteristics."

Ning ngyao placed three maps on the desk with a smile.

"This first spot is called Jade Lake, considered a haven for experienced divers, with a complex underwater environnt but very good lighting, suitable for underwater photography. Just a few days ago, a movie was shot there, but since the lake bed is muddy, it doesn’t seem worth exploring, so I’ve ruled it out."

"The second place is called Evil Island, an isolated small island hanging over the open sea. They say Death Lake is a series of caverns within caverns, and it’s laden with strong magnetic ore. After two divers drowned there, nobody goes there anymore, making it highly suspicious."

"The third is a wild lake by the sea, opposite Evil Island. It’s said the water is particularly cold, likely an underground spring outlet; due to the rotten wood and mud underneath, not many have dived there, so there isn’t much information."

She placed the last two maps in front of Lin Fan.

This was her ultimate answer.

If those three brothers had indeed dived in Jiangning,

it must be these two places.

"I feel that Evil Island seems more likely."

Lin Fan picked up the photograph of Evil Island,

looking at the clear water among the mountains.

He had a feeling, this kind of place rarely visited by people,

was very similar to what he had imagined in his mind.

"Great minds think alike, I thought the sa thing. But the waters are too complex and diving gear cannot be used; hence I’ve already called the club to order so mini equipnt from abroad. They’ll arrive in two days at the latest. Though it won’t allow us to dive to the cave’s depths, it will at least be safer than free diving. We’ll go together and take a look when it arrives."

Ning ngyao looked at Lin Fan excitedly.

Evil Island, situated in the high seas,

would require a full day of trekking through mountains and rivers to reach the lake.

Just thinking about it now was exciting.

"It’s too dangerous, I should go by myself."

Lin Fan said as he held the map, looking at the surrounding Primordial Forest.

He certainly didn’t want Ning ngyao to risk herself.

"Hey, are you playing the chauvinist card again? I’m the one who found this data, and I’m an old hand at diving. How can you leave behind in such an endeavor? Don’t underestimate people—when we get into the forest, you might even end up begging for help."

Ning ngyao snatched the map and pouted.

"But these isolated island forests are quite dangerous, I’m worried you can’t handle it."

Lin Fan said, his nose rubbed once more.

"Don’t give that, you just look down on won!"

Ning ngyao’s good mood instantly vanished without a trace.

The competitive spirit deep in her bones once again took the high ground.

"Rember this, I absolutely, absolutely won’t let you look down on again. Once the equipnt arrives, we’ll head out. I want you to see what I’m really capable of."

After Ning ngyao spoke, she turned and walked out of the study.

Seeing her like that, Lin Fan could only sigh helplessly.

He followed Ning ngyao back to the bedroom.

But before he could even lie down in bed, he found Ning ngyao taking out a yoga mat from under the bed.

"What’s the situation here?"

Lin Fan asked, puzzled, looking at Ning ngyao.

"I’d rather not share a bed with soone as chauvinistic as you. I’ll sleep on the floor!"

Ning ngyao rolled her eyes.

Despite her careful planning, her efforts were ruthlessly rejected by him.

This guy, seriously too clueless when it cos to a woman’s heart.

"Co on, I was just saying... After all, that remote island is uninhabited; no one knows what’s really there. I was just more worried about your safety," he quickly apologized.

"I don’t need your concern!"

Ning ngyao lay on the yoga mat feeling wronged.

Ever since Lin Fan appeared, she had been helped by him each and every ti.

Just when she finally had a chance to prove herself, he looked down on her again.

This made Ning ngyao swear in her heart,

she had to redeem her lost face on Evil Island.

But before that, she refused to share a bed with him.

"Won..."

Lin Fan shook his head, resigned.

But he had to admit, this stubbornness of Ning ngyao was quite endearing.

...

In the night, waves crashed against the shoreline.

In a dense forest, a woman dressed in military attire stood valiantly in the darkness.

With short hair reaching her ears and an aura of stern authority,

her phoenix eyes were filled with fighting spirit at this mont.

"Dad, are you kidding ? Setting up on a blind date? Don’t even think about it."

Xu Zhi Rou roared furiously into the phone, "According to our intelligence, martial cultivator invaders are planning to infiltrate our country. I’m currently preparing to defend with the special combat troop. I have no ti for thinking about n!"

"Zhi Rou, this Lin Fan is different from other n. I guarantee you’ll be happy to et him," Xu Kun said excitedly on the phone.

When he had his heart set on a son-in-law, he would not let him get away.

"I’m not interested in n. The only thing that will make happy is personally beheading Beitiao Qian Naizi. Don’t disturb with anything else!"

Xu Zhi Rou ended the call abruptly.

The fighting spirit in her phoenix eyes intensified.

She regarded the Jiuju Sect as an old foe.

"Report!"

Just then, the sound of military boots approached from a distance.

A soldier hurried to Xu Zhi Rou’s side.

"Any new developnts?"

Xu Zhi Rou, with furrowed brows, looked at the pitch-dark coastline.

The soldier promptly reported, "According to intelligence, Beitiao Qian Naizi has entered international waters and is attempting to infiltrate our territory. The most likely location is using Evil Island in the open sea as a midway point. Moreover, to assist him, the Jiuju Sect has also deployed a large number of insiders to gather there!"

"Good, notify the special combat team to assemble imdiately for a secret infiltration of Evil Island. This ti we must annihilate all the invading enemies, letting not a single one escape!"

A resolute light shone on Xu Zhi Rou’s handso face.

This ti, she was determined to ensure that the Great Protector of the Jiuju Sect would not return.
