A completely different world was unveiled right in front of Jace's eyes, with the Advanced Lenses on, everything just seem different. It was already nightti but in Jace's vision, it was bright as day and that wasn't all. When he focussed his eyes, he could literally see microorganisms on the road. He was very satisfied with this kind of technology.
On the other hand, Haoyu saw a completely different world from what Jace was seeing. He could see Spirit Qi in the air and with these lenses, could enhance his vision and watch the Spirit Qi up close, this was only possible because Haoyu was a cultivator so his world view was different from that of ordinary people.
After experinting for a while, Jace finally decided to continue with their journey. Since the optic nerves of the eyes were connected directly to the brain, the Advanced Lenses could be commanded using thoughts and Jace had activated the GPS locator to find a nearby place to sleep. Back to the Future Electronics shop, Brady who was sitting lazily behind the counter was visited by two n in black suits. These two n inquired about Jace and Haoyu but he refused to cooperate.
“Sir, we know you have rights but these guys are wanted criminals. Please cooperate with the authorities and help us capture the criminals. Just tell us what they ca here to buy or lead us to your operations room to watch the CCTV footage.” said one of the n.
“I'm sorry my two Sirs but I'm afraid I can't help you. It's shop protocol to not divulge any information about the custors who enter our shop so please understand. I'm just an employee here and don't want to lose my job. I have five wives and fifteen children, two sick elderly people and my in-laws think I'm a failure. If I were to lose my job, how would I survive, have a heart, man.” said Brady with teary eyes.
“If it's your job that's holding you back then rest assured, we can help you find another job. Tell you what, I'll hire you at our company as a janitor, I guarantee you that the salary of my company is much better than this place, what do you think?”
“Hire first then we'll talk,” said Brady hesitantly. The two n in black were happy and quickly hired Brady as a janitor of their company, they had that much authority. Brady remained silent for a minute or so before a bright smile appeared on his face.
“About these two guys, they actually ca here a while ago and…” Brady began to narrate everything that happened in the shop without leaving anything behind. He even revealed the storage ring and even showed the two n the CCTV footage. The two n were surprised by Brady's cooperativeness because they'd thought that he was making up a story about his family and stuff.
Never did they expect the guy to be fully cooperative after being given a job as a janitor at their company.
‘How can he be so cheap, so easy to be bought?’ they thought but were also happy about the information he was giving them.
“Now, we're almost finished with our investigation. Just give us the storage ring and we'll be out of your hair.” said one of the n.
“No.” flatly refused Brady.
“Thank you bro for being so unders… wait, what?”
“I won't give you my storage ring. It's mine and I obtained it through my own ans.” said Brady calmly.
“Boy, if you don't give us the storage ring, we'll have to resort to more violent ans so you better cooperate!” exclaid the man.
“No matter what you say, I won't give you my storage ring.”
One of the n in black was so angry that he directly took out his gun and pointed it at Brady but Brady didn't look scared in the slightest bit. The gun looked futuristic like sothing you'd only see in sci-fi movies.
“You think I'm scared of your toy, think again buddy. The only way you'll get my storage ring is over my dead body!” said Brady.
“Then we'll take it from your pulverized corpse!” shouted the man who had taken out his gun and pulled the trigger. What he was carrying was a gun that uses electromagnetic energy as bullets and upon contact, the person shot by this bullet would be turned into at paste almost instantly. The gun also had a recognition and fingerprint function so that even if civilians were to obtain it, it would be utterly useless.
When the man pulled the trigger, no bullet ca out and Brady wasn't pulverized. He didn't know what was going on because malfunctions don't exist when it ca to the gun he was holding so he was truly baffled.
“Told you that your toy doesn't scare .” said Brady which made the two n angry. The other man also pulled out his gun and pulled the trigger but nothing happened. It was simply impossible for both guns to simply stop working.
“Those guys must be in deep shit if they're being hunted down by the Artillery Tech Company, mind telling why you're hunting them down for.” Brady said and the two n's expressions changed for the worst.
“How do you know about us? Who is your informant?!” they asked but Brady didn't answer.
“It seems this Artillery Tech Company is a company that is yet to reveal itself to the world. Just tell what I want to know and I'll naturally tell you what you want to know, if not, die.” said Brady. Since Brady hadn't lied to them previously, they decided to trust him once again and spilled the beans of Haoyu's and Jace's true identities.
“Cultivators? So such people really exist! The books weren't telling folktales or legends but talking about real historical events that happened in the distant past!” exclaid Brady.
“Bro, we've told you what you wanted to know, now it's our turn. How do you know about the Artillery Tech Company?” asked one of the n with a smile that wasn't a smile.
“Oh that, I naturally got that information about your company after you made an employee. Then I hacked into your company's database which is why your guns aren't working. As for an informant, I don't have one since I'm a one man show. You see, I'm not an ordinary person but I am an honest person so I'll tell you where I obtained this information. I got this information from my Job System, now… ti to die.” said Brady honestly as his clothes changed.
He was now wearing the exact sa suit as the two n in black and his entire deanour changed from being a carefree and calm guy to a more serious and agent personality guy.
“Bro, didn't you promise not to kill us? Why are you suddenly going back on your word, didn't we have a deal?”
“I never said I wouldn't kill you. I only said to tell what I want to know and I'd tell you what you want to know. Now, ti to die.” Brady's carefree face returned as he took out a gun that looked exactly like theirs and pulled the trigger before the two n could plead for rcy.
“Man, I love being hired.”
