Capítulo 615: Chapter 629 Going to the Military

Several people were utterly impressed by Mu Can, who had stumbled upon the true nature of Newbie Village by accident.

And they even managed to get the assistant to issue them additional tasks.

After exchanging glances, the three of them nodded in agreent.

This task that ca to them was not to be refused.

“We wish to join the Empire’s army,” Mu Can said to the General.

How unpredictable life is—no one would have imagined that just a second ago he was a bandit leader, yet now he had completely transford into an Empire General.

“Are you sure about this?” inquired the General, a not-so-surprised expression on his face.

Though the truth might be hard for these outsiders to accept, it was the reality.

“We are sure,” all three of them had received a prompt from the assistant, and after learning the true nature of the events, they could not possibly return to Newbie Village.

“Very well, then go to the town to report for duty.” The General took out several Tokens, waved his hand gently, and three Tokens accurately flew towards the three of them.

They each took a Token, and only after hearing the assistant’s prompt, they breathed a sigh of relief. Everyone had an assistant, and surely it wouldn’t deceive them like the ti in Newbie Village.

“Alright, take the Tokens and go report for duty,” the General said after he finished tossing the Tokens and waved his hand.

The three of them left the Treasure Room, but Wang Cai’s eyes were darting about, and just as he was about to speak, he was stopped by Mu Can.

“Don’t get any ideas about this place; this General is no ordinary man,” Mu Can spoke up.

The three of them had just stepped out of the Treasure Room when all the alliance mbers fighting against the bandits received a prompt from their assistants.

“Soone has uncovered the greatest secret of Newbie Village, bringing an abrupt end to the newbie phase. Newbie Village is closed, and all are unable to return. Please continue your exploration on your own.”

Everyone received such a prompt, and the fighting ceased imdiately, leaving them standing in bewildernt.

“What’s going on?” Alliance leaders exchanged looks; this was certainly not good news.

Newbie Village was supposed to be the first stop for those who had just entered the Glory Trial World. Now that access to the Village was cut off, it ant they were at a significant disadvantage compared to others from different Newbie Villages.

“Retreat!” The desire to fight imdiately vanished, and everyone felt uneasy. The leaders decisively gave the order, and the group retreated from the bandits’ hill.

Even though it was a disorderly escape, the bandits did not give pursuit. Like holess dogs, the group ran back to the entrance of Newbie Village, only to be stopped by an invisible barrier.

At that mont, everyone was dumbfounded, clueless about what had happened.

However, soone then noticed that the assistant had changed from before.

When calling out to the assistant, sothing resembling a display screen appeared.

Yet, the screen was now devoid of anything—the discovery quickly spread, and a crowd huddled at the entrance of Newbie Village, studying the new assistant feature.

“What should we do?” The two leaders exchanged glances. With Newbie Village gone, their alliances had lost their purpose as well.

After so discussion, there seed to be no other option but to rge the two alliances, as banding together was the natural instinct for survival.

“Listen to , everyone. With Newbie Village gone, we need to band together for warmth. I feel our breakthrough lies atop this bandit hill.”

Everyone present in the Glory Trial, if not powerful, was decisive. With no path left, the only option was to carve a new one for themselves.

These events, however, no longer concerned Mu Can and his group. After receiving their Tokens, they too received a prompt, informing them that they had passed beyond the newbie phase. Unlike others, as the discoverers of the secret, they were each rewarded by the assistant.

The three wore smiles of joy as they left the vicinity of the bandits’ hill, yet Mu Can was still perplexed.

What could have happened to prompt a General to hide his identity and guard Newbie Village while leading a band of bandits?

Before departure, using the Newbie Village Guide that Ye Feng had, the three of them explored the vicinity of Newbie Village for treasures. With Wang Cai, who would risk his life just to lay his hands on treasure, the three obtained a bountiful haul.

After this incident, Ye Feng and Da Zhuang made their decision—to stick close by Mu Can’s side and latch onto his “coattails.”

To them, Mu Can was undoubtedly the brain among them, capable of leading them to greater benefits.

The town ntioned by the General was a few hundred miles from the hill, a distance that wasn’t ti-consuming for Cultivators like them.

When they arrived at the town, they discovered it was, in fact, a massive military camp. As they approached the town entrance, they were stopped by two soldiers in Armor.

However, after showing their Tokens, the Sentry’s expressions softened considerably, and soone was soon fetched to lead them straight to see the General stationed in town.

“It seems these are indeed useful,” Mu Can mused inwardly. He had been skeptical of the reclusive General who took on a bandit’s identity to guard Newbie Village, and now that uncertainty found a proof here in town.

“Is General Changping doing well?” The man leading them hesitated, then ultimately voice his question.

“General Changping?” Mu Can was puzzled; he didn’t yet know the na of the General who was stationed at the hill.

“You have General Changping’s Tokens and don’t know who he is?” asked the soldier leading them skeptically.

If it weren’t for their thod of verifying the Tokens’ authenticity, they might have suspected that Mu Can and his companions had forged them from sowhere.

“Is the General Changping you ntioned the one who wears Golden Armor and has a robust figure? Stationed on the hill so hundred miles away?” Mu Can counter-asked.

He could discern the respect that shimred in the soldier’s eyes whenever the na General Changping was ntioned.

“Yes, that’s General Changping. What did you do to get such a recomndation from him? Usually, we never see General Changping recomnding new recruits,” the soldier said, giving them a once-over.

Mu Can chuckled awkwardly, himself unsure of what he had done to impress General Changping so much as to receive such an important Token.
