Chapter 362: Chapter 363: Wang Cai’s Battle

In the end, when the light flashed beneath the two assassins’ feet, signalling their elimination, Xu Liang laid flat on the platform, was thus set down, and the terrifying injuries that appeared before vanished without a trace, as if he had never been attacked at all.

Mu Can did not request to help the two brothers restore their sealed mories at this mont, because even if he helped restore mories, it would certainly be selective. Mu Can could not judge the character, or the good and evil of these two assassin brothers, and he always had an innate dislike towards assassins. He always felt that these cultivators, who lurk in the shadows, always carried ill intentions.

“I’m sorry, I always drag you down,” Xu Liang said, lowering his head with a bit of embarrassnt.

In these three battles, apart from casting a Rejuvenation Technique for Mu Can in the second one, Xu Liang basically played no part at all, entirely absent from the action.

“It’s okay, you’ve done well. If they hadn’t targeted you, these two assassins wouldn’t have exposed themselves. If they had attacked , I reckon I would’ve been in a panic too.”

Was Xu Liang weak? Compared to Mu Can, slightly, but compared to others, Xu Liang was not weak at all. However, when faced with those daggers flashing with cold light, he had no ability to resist and was instantly killed; this sort of powerful attack, in front of Mu Can, was simply reduced to a slight fluster. The disparity between a Martial Arts Sect and a Martial Saint was just this vast, Xu Liang thought to himself.

“What would you have done if his dagger was aid at you?” Xu Liang suddenly asked, curious about how Mu Can would have responded to that sort of sudden attack.

“What to do? If he had really chosen as his target, then he would have truly been seeking his own death,” Mu Can chuckled.

If the two assassin brothers had targeted him, not to ntion the Ice Shield Mu Can could form instantly, even without the shield, Mu Can was confident that those two daggers wouldn’t have been able to harm even a hair on him. As soon as he realized that there was no one opposite him in the arena, Mu Can had secretly mobilized the power of the Reincarnation Pearl to protect himself.

Of course, he couldn’t ntion all of this to Xu Liang. He couldn’t just tell him that he possessed an artifact that surpassed countless levels in the Three Realms, and that the two blades couldn’t harm him at all; since he couldn’t say it, it was better to keep silent and maintain an image of being unfathomable.

“Congratulations, you have won three consecutive battles and successfully advanced.”

This mysterious voice now sounded incredibly comforting in Xu Liang’s ears.

Finally, he could rest. Although he was not of much help in the three battles, the tension in his heart had been constant, especially during the third battle, when he was imdiately eliminated and placed on the platform. Lying there, completely unaware of the situation below, that feeling was indeed too terrifying.

“That’s it? Sigh, didn’t even et a single strong opponent.” Mu Can had been prepared to et with other cultivators who obtained the Ultimate Secret Manual but it seed he had to wait a little longer.

The two of them flashed with light beneath their feet and were teleported back to the stands.

However, this ti, there was not a single soul in the stands; it seed they were the first ones to win three consecutive battles and secure a spot to advance.

“Look over there, why is there a big black dog?”

Mu Can looked in the direction Xu Liang was pointing and burst into laughter; that big black dog, wasn’t it Wang Cai?

People who advance early do get benefits, it turns out – being able to watch others battle. If used wisely, that could surely offer a huge advantage in upcoming fights.

At this mont, Wang Cai stands on his hind legs, his paws crossed behind his back, eyeing the two Cultivators across him coldly.

This is his third battle, and his opponents clearly didn’t expect their third encounter to be with a colossal black dog, wearing big yellow shorts no less – which, on closer inspection, are embellished with various dragon patterns, seemingly modified from an emperor’s robe.

The person opposite had an expression like they wanted to laugh but couldn’t. The big black dog in front of them was indeed funny, but its strength was no laughing matter. So much so, that he dared not make a single move, fearing that any shift might provoke a frenzied assault.

“Why aren’t you moving?” Wang Cai asks, paw still behind his back, sounding for all the world like a schoolteacher questioning a student.

“I just won’t move. You could beat to death and I still wouldn’t move,” the person retorted, though their voice lacked conviction.

How could they dare to move? Right at the start of the battle, this dog had set up a Big Formation within the dueling ground. His companion had barely stepped forward when a massive Wind Blade sliced right across him. A flash of light under his feet, and he was hung up on the pedestal above, instantly killed.

“Wang Cai the Great, your Mana knows no bounds!” Wang Cai’s little sidekick cried out this chant upon witnessing the scene.

Wang Cai is so badass that even on Tongshen Mountain he moves unimpeded. Now the sidekick believes that even those so-called Martial Saints at their Peak wouldn’t perform any more flawlessly than Wang Cai here, who navigated with the Compass, repeatedly advancing toward the bookshelf where the Ultimate Secret Manual was kept.

Through trial and defeat, he had finally secured three Ultimate Secret Manuals – each one with the power to alter fate. The subsequent two bouts could only be described as utterly overwhelming; none of his enemies lasted more than three seconds, brushed aside by Wang Cai as soon as they entered the arena.

And yet, each of Wang Cai’s moves were distinct. The Compass hanging on his chest spun round and round, emitting various colors of light, swiftly establishing a Big Formation within the Duel Arena.

Just now, the trembling unfortunate’s companion stepped wrong, triggered a Wind Attribute Killing Array, and a massive Wind Blade sent him straight to the platform, hung up there.

Nearly every battle was like this. With a wave of Wang Cai’s enormous paw, the entire Duel Arena beca a Killing Array. If the opponent didn’t move, they might be safe. But with a single move activating the Killing Array, a barrage of deadly techniques – thunder, Wind Blades, Earth Fire, Rock – would manifest instantaneously, sending the opponent straight to suspension.

“Do you really not plan to move?” Wang Cai possesses an air of mastery at this mont, though the yellow shorts certainly do a disservice to his image.

“I wouldn’t move even if it killed .” Seeing Wang Cai, the man all but fell apart. He knew sothing of his companion’s power; soone so formidable had been struck down in an instant. As for himself, he could not muster the courage to even try.

“Fine, then it’s over.” With a wave of Wang Cai’s massive paw, the Array began to shift.

Boom!

A bolt of lightning ca crashing down, and a flash of light beneath the remaining man’s feet signified his elimination from the competition.
