"Look, he is here", the middle aged lady pointed towards a direction. Silhouette of person could be seen in the sky who was flying towards the Lu clan's base with a breathtaking speed.
It was Zhan Chen who was flying towards the Lu clan's base. After receiving the ssage from Hu Yali, he hurried over.
He slowed down after reaching the vicinity of the Lu clan's base. A hint of surprise appeared in his eyes after he saw the gathered crowd.
'It is unexpected. So many of them have co!', he thought to himself.
He flew down to the ground and walked towards the crowd. His arrival caught everyone's attention but he didn't got flustered. He continued to walk untill he reached the gate of the Lu clan's base.
"Senior, I know you are observing everything. Please send the cultivators from the Lu clan who are willing to follow ", Zhan Chen spoke with a light bow.
Many in the crowd got confused because they didn't know whom Zhan Chen was talking to. Few in the crowd were smart. So, they could deduce that Zhan Chen was talking to an expert from the Lu clan. But they didn't know whom Zhan Chen was really talking with as they couldn't sense anyone in the surrounding with their soul consciousness.
A strange expression appeared on few cultivators's eyes after few monts passed. There was no response from the Lu clan. So, they felt that Zhan Chen was making a mockery of himself infront of the Lu clan's base.
When everyone's patience was dwindling, a group of cultivators from the Lu clan ca out. Leading the Lu clan's group were two late tribulation realm experts.
One of them was Lu Tai Cang with whom Zhan Chen was acquainted. But he didn't know anything about the other person. The other cultivator was already at the peak of the Heavenly tribulation realm. His aura was calm and stable as he led the group from Lu clan towards the gate. Even Lu Tai Cang with his late tribulation realm cultivation was following respectfully behind him.
"Heaven, is not he Lu Cheng? The third elder of the Lu clan! It has been tens of years since his last public appearance. People says that he has faced a cultivation deviation. But it seems like, he is doing fine", cultivators gathered infront of the Lu clan's base started to talk among themselves. From their whispers, Zhan Chen ca to learn the identity of the other elder who was leading the Lu clan's group.
"Little brother, it is upto you now. I am leaving the life and death of my Lu clansn in your hands", a deep voice ca out from the depth of the Lu clan's base.
"Senior, I will not disappoint you", Zhan Chen replied. Many in the crowd were taken aback as they finally realised whom Zhan Chen was talking to. The person who referred Zhan Chen as 'little brother' was an emperor from the Lu clan.
"Since everyone is here, let's get started", Zhan Chen spoke. His voice reveberated in the air as he looked towards everyone present.
"First of all, I want to pay respect to all the seniors who have co to support . There are better out there but you still choose to have faith in . For which, I am very grateful. I promise that, anyone who cos to support will not be disappointed", Zhan Chen spoke while clasping his hands. He may be more powerful than anyone else present here but he was not an ungrateful person. He knew how to pay back both gratitude and grudges.
"Little brother, no need to be polite. Everyone is here because they are convinced by your strength", a late tribulation realm expert spoke. "Brother Wei is right. Zhan Chen, you don't have to polite. We only want so opportunities to exercise our old bones", another late tribulation realm expert chid in. Other tribulation realm experts expressed their stance one after another as they expressed their will to follow Zhan Chen.
"Seniors, thank you for your kind words. I wouldn't be polite then", Zhan Chen spoke.
"As everyone knew, below the commanders were the position of captains. Each captain must have ten squard leaders under their command. For each squard, number of squard mbers can vary from thirty to fifty. For now, let us fix our squard strength at forty mbers", Zhan Chen spoke.
"Now, I am going to appoint our captains. Beside strength, they need to have leadership ability. There are many powerful seniors here. But I want only five captains under at this mont", Zhan Chen spoke.
The crowd beca silent after Zhan Chen started to speak. Few tribulation realm experts had hopeful expression in their eyes as they wished to be appointed as captains.
"First captain will be the senior from the Sword peak. I have yet to learn your na but I think you are more than eligible to beco a captain", Zhan Chen spoke. He looked towards an incospicuous corner where a lean and tall old man was standing. He was wearing a silver grey robe which was an uniform for the Xuantian sect elders.
There was a sword symbol inscribed on his robe which showed his identity as a Sword peak mber. After listening to Zhan Chen's words, everyone in the crowd focused their eyes on the lean and tall old man.
Many in the crowd were curious as they didn't know the Sword peak elder's identity. But those who knew his identity, didn't feel any surprise because they knew how formidable the old man from the Sword peak actually was.
"Little brother, my na is He Yu. Hopefully, I can learn few things from you by the ti this war ends", the lean and tall old man spoke. He appeared quite friendly despite being a peak Heavenly tribulation realm expert.
"Senior, are you accepting the position of a captain?", Zhan Chen asked He Yu.
"I think it wouldn't be a problem. Since I have decided to follow you, I need to respect your decisions", He Yu replied.
"I am giving the second captain position to the Lu clan. Senior, are you willing to accept the position of a captain?", Zhan Chen asked Lu Cheng, the third elder of the Lu clan.
"I have no problem. I have no issue with whatever position I get. The only thing matter to at this mont is the battle with the devils. I want payback for my fallen clansn", Lu Cheng spoke. His voice was deep and hoarse. People could feel his murderous desire just by hearing his words.
"Senior, there will be plenty of chances to fight with the devils. But you need to be patient", Zhan Chen spoke.
"I will listen to your words but don't keep waiting for long", Lu Cheng spoke.
"I will not", Zhan Chen spoke with an assuring tone.
"Master, please consider the Jade orchid peak. They have co to join you after I persuaded them", Zhan Chen received a ssage from Hu Yali when he was looking for a suitable candidate for the third captain's position.
