Zhan Chen opened his eyes and found Shen Ruyan still sleeping on her bed. He stood up and walked to the bed. He sat by her side and caressed her silky hair.
"Ruyan, wake up", Zhan Chen called out while caressing her silky hair. Shen Ruyan woke up lazily after Zhan Chen called out her na for the second ti.
"You should not sleep in the day ti. Go and wash up. I will order for food in the anti", Zhan Chen spoke lightly. Shen Ruyan nodded her head and walked out lazily.
Zhan Chen followed after her and left the room. He looked around and found two maids in the central hall. They were chatting in a soft voice initially but they stopped their conversation after noticing the arrival of Zhan Chen.
They imdiately bowed towards Zhan Chen and made way for him to pass. Zhan Chen shook his head after seeing their nervous expression.
Zhan Chen observed the maids for a bit. Both of them looked young and both of them were cultivators of ridian opening realm. Within these few monts, they had already stolen so glances at him.
"Young master, is there anything you need?", one of the maid asked.

"Am I looking good?", Shen Ruyan asked with a soft laughter. Her lips curled up after noticing the gaze of Zhan Chen on her.
"Pretty", Zhan Chen murmured without taking off his eyes from her. It took him so monts to return to his senses.
"Sit here", Zhan Chen pointed to a nearby chair. Shen Ruyan nodded her head and sat on the nearby chair.
"Where is Ling'er and Su'er?", she asked after observing the main room.
"Are you talking about the maids?", Zhan Chen asked. Shen Ruyan nodded her head.
"I have sent them fetch so spirit beast at. I have used your na to order. I hope, you don't mind", Zhan Chen spoke.
"What are you thinking? What is mine is yours. Why are you behaving like an outsider?", Shen Ruyan frowned. A hint of displeasure appeared on her pretty face.
"Looks like, I said sothing unnecessary. She is already my woman. So, what is the need of formality among us", Zhan Chen thought after seeing the displeased look of Shen Ruyan.
"I am sorry. I will not ask for your permission again", hen Chen spoke with a gentle voice.
The anger of Shen Ruyan vanished after Zhan Chen apologized. She observed the handso face of Zhan Chen without blinking. Although she was already twenty four years old, she was still behaving like a lovestruck girl who found her first love in life.
Zhan Chen sensed sothing and turned his gaze to a corner. Liu Nanxi had appeared there without alerting anyone present. She was silently watching Shen Ruyan who was not aware about her presence.
Shen Ruyan shifted her gaze after so monts. "Aunt Liu", Shen Ruyan blushed after seeing the familiar person.
"You! You two have already done that?", Liu Nanxi asked with a surprised voice. Shen Ruyan blushed but nodded her head. Zhan Chen didn't speak anything but threw a firm gaze at Liu Nanxi.
"Young miss, see your face. Why are you blushing so much?", a smile appeared on the stoic face of Liu Nanxi. She felt surprised by the progress of relationship between Shen Ruyan and Zhan Chen but she still felt happy for Shen Ruyan. She had never seen her being so much happy since her childhood.
"Brat, you better treat her well. Otherwise, I will not spare you no matter where you run in the barren continent", she threw a aningful glance at Zhan Chen.
"I will not disappoint her", Zhan Chen replied with a serious tone in his voice.
"Alright, I believe you. Now, let's co to the main topic. I wouldn't have disturbed you two if there was no reason", Liu Nanxi spoke. Both Zhan Chen and Shen Ruyan looked at her with questioning gaze.
"It is related to the Zhan family. One of the protector of Zhan family has been killed and there was a battle between Zhan family mbers and an unknown group of people in yesterday night", Liu Nanxi spoke with a solemn voice.
"What?", Zhan Chen felt shaken for a mont. A terrifying killing intent ca out from him after a mont. Even Liu Nanxi shuddered by the murderous aura of Zhan Chen.
"Dear!", Shen Ruyan called out hurriedly. She grabbed the hand of Zhan Chen with a worried gaze.
"Aunt, please tell us the details and please tell if anyone of the main family is hurt", Shen Ruyan looked at Liu Nanxi. Zhan Chen also cald down a bit and retracted his killing intent.
