The raging fla started to subside and the crowd finally able to see the corners of the stone platform. A figure appeared infront of them who was standing on the edge of the battle platform.
"A close call. I am fortunate that I am already in the Martial ascension realm. If I was still in the Core condensation realm, then I would have to use my soul strength to protect myself and that would have exposed my greatest secret infront of countless experts!", Zhan Chen thought to himself.
He was pondering about the consequences when his figure reappeared infront of the crowd. A look of awe and surprise appeared in the eyes of crowd as they witnessed the uninjured figure of Zhan Chen.

His whole body was burnt to extre and no one could tell whether he was alive or dead. The most striking thing about him was his mask. It was still attached to his face despite being burnt completely.
"Senior, can you send his body to the Lu clan's side?", Zhan Chen looked towards the judge from the Spirit palace.
The Spirit palace expert was still in shock. So, he didn't replied to him imdiately. One of the other four Spirit palace experts responded to his question and asked a Spirit palace cultivator to take the masked man away.
"Tell the Lu clan to preserve his life. If he survives sohow, then his life will belong to my Zhan clan", Zhan Chen spoke to the Spirit palace cultivator who had co to bring the masked man away.
"Zhan Chen, how did you do this?", the judge from the Spirit palace asked. He had a curious look on his face as he looked towards Zhan Chen.
"Senior, it is only a small trick that I have managed to pull off. Such a trick wouldn't have worked if it was a genuine attack from a Martial ascension realm expert", Zhan Chen replied.
Other Spirit palace experts observed him for few monts before returning to their own stone platforms. The competition resud once again but the eyes of the crowd never left Zhan Chen for a second.
"What a monstrous brat! How did he survive such an explosion?", the second elder of the Lu clan murmured to himself. Lu Tai Cang smiled slightly after hearing the words of second elder of their clan.
Unlike other cultivators, he was not that surprised by the miraculous escape of Zhan Chen. He was already acquainted with so of his mysterious capabilities. So, the result of the battle didn't bring much surprise to him.
"I know such a thing would never kill him. But what did he do at that exact mont?", Lu Tai Cang thought to himself.
Zhan Chen waited for his third opponent but none of the cultivators wanted to face him after seeing the result of his second match.
"Senior, what if none of them co to challenge ?", Zhan Chen pointed at the gathered cultivators.
"Let's wait for a while. If none of them co to challenge you then you will be automatically promoted to the top hundred list", the Spirit palace expert replied.
Zhan Chen nodded his head and sat down on the stone platform. He closed his eyes and started to circulate the Celestial yin yang sutra.
The energy from the sun was absorbed by his body and the divine yin yang diagram turned it into purest form of yang energy. All of his fatigue gradually faded and Zhan Chen started to feel more energetic after cultivating for a while.
The competition progressed on the other four platforms while he was cultivating. The Spirit palace expert finally lost his patience and promoted Zhan Chen to the top hundred list.
Zhan Chen opened his eyes after a while and thanked the Spirit palace expert. He found soone beckoning at him when he left the stone platform.
"Hello senior sister, how are you doing?", Zhan Chen greeted Sima Chunhua after reaching near her.
"Junior brother, you are amazing. How did you manage to protect yourself in such a situation?", she asked after seeing Zhan Chen.
"Senior sister, it is only a trick. I used a movent technique and conjured an essence energy shield to protect myself from the impact", Zhan Chen replied.
"Are you telling the truth?", Sima Chunhua looked at him with a questioning look on her face.
Zhan Chen nodded his head innocently as he was not fooling Sima Chunhua at all. He used Cloud Chasing steps to get away from the center of the explosion. After that he hurriedly put up an essence energy shield to protect himself from the all encompassing fire.
"Senior sister, when are you going to step on the stone platform?", he asked to Sima Chunhua.
"I will wait for a while. I am still not sure if I can defeat all three opponents I am going to face", Sima Chunhua replied.
Both of them were talking among themselves when sothing caught the eyes of Sima Chunhua. "Look, it is senior sister", she spoke to Zhan Chen.
Zhan Chen turned his head and found the icy beauty from the Xuantian sect walking towards a distant platform. She still had her icy deanor as she stepped on the battle platform.
"Jia Lingyi!", a nervous look appeared on the face of her opponent after he saw the icy beauty stepping on the stone platform. Many participants in the crowd also turned their heads after seeing the icy beauty challenging a participant.
"She seems popular?", Zhan Chen asked with a curious look on his face.
"Have you never heard about senior sister before?", Sima Chunhua asked.
Zhan Chen shook his head in reply. "I have only heard about Lu Wentian from the Heavenly sword sect. There is also a young master of Huo clan who is dead set on getting Ruyan", Zhan Chen added.
"Are you talking about Shen Ruyan? The grand daughter of the Shen clan patriarch!", Sima Chunhua asked. There was a look of shock in her eyes as she looked towards Zhan Chen.
"I have travelled with Shen clan group while crossing the Shredded mountain region", Zhan Chen inford.
"Ohh, now I understand. It is good that you are rely an acquaintance with the cursed beauty of the Shen clan", Sima Chunhua spoke.
"Cursed!", a frown appeared on Zhan Chen's face after he heard the term used for Shen Ruyan.

Zhan Chen nodded his head and looked towards the stone platform where Jia Lingyi was fighting.
