36: Chapter 36 Reflection in the Water 36: Chapter 36 Reflection in the Water Mo Fei stood frozen on the spot, feeling puzzled for a few seconds.

He even doubted if he was dreaming, but quickly he realized this was not a dream, this was reality.

The thing he feared most had still happened, Morphis was real, and had begun to manifest in reality.

“Morphis?” he asked tentatively.

“Who else could it be, you foolish mortal?” The brimming scorn in the voice irritated Mo Fei.

Mo Fei’s reaction was swift, imdiately recalling so things—the violent emotions in his heart, the desire to kill, were exactly the sa as when he played story missions in the ga.

“So it was always you muttering in my ear all this ti, you drove to do those things?

It was all your doing!”

“Hmm, don’t say it like that, I rely gave you a little nudge.

After all, those were things you wanted to do.

How does it feel, having the lives of others in your hands?

Isn’t it exhilarating, addictive even?”

“And by the way, you should have thrust it further.”

Mo Fei snorted coldly, “I’m not crazy.”

A mocking expression appeared on the black dragon’s face, “Really?

Then what are you doing now?”

Mo Fei was left speechless, conversing with the hallucination that appeared in the water.

Indeed, this was sothing only a madman would do.

He stared at the black dragon in the mirror, those red eyes emitting a scorching red glow, “So what exactly are you?”

The black dragon opened its mouth, “What do you think?”

Just as Mo Fei was about to speak, suddenly, with a bang, the bathroom door behind him was smashed open.

A drunken man holding a bottle staggered in—it seed he was an employee from the company on this floor.

He seed not to notice Mo Fei and went straight to the urinal to relieve himself.

When Mo Fei turned back again, the reflection of the black dragon had disappeared.

He did not stay to obverse, turning around and walking out.

He felt his thoughts were in turmoil, desperately needing to return to his dormitory to calm down.

The lights in the hallway were sowhat dazzling.

Outside, the pitch-black night was visible, and reflections flickered on the glass, as if sothing was following him.

“You just plan to walk away like this?” The black dragon’s voice sounded again.

Mo Fei glanced sideways, catching the black dragon’s image in the reflections on the glass.

It moved as he moved, as if that damned black dragon was following him outside the window.

But Mo Fei knew it was just his hallucination—the black dragon didn’t exist, at least not in physical form.

He had no answer.

“Hey, I’m talking to you.”

Mo Fei ignored it completely.

He hadn’t yet decided how to deal with this guy, and he wasn’t even sure if the voice was really there or just a hallucination.

As a materialist at heart, he didn’t want to converse with his own hallucinations, but on the other hand, he thought it was a rather magical—yet also very dangerous—thing.

“How does it feel to be plagued like this?”

Ignore it, ignore the gibberish spouted by the fool.

“Hmph, don’t think you can pretend to not see .

I’m right here, I know you can hear my voice.”

“La la la la la.”

The voice lingered in his ears, irritating Mo Fei to the point of agitation.

“Shut up!” he finally roared, albeit in a low volu because he didn’t want to be seen talking to himself.

The voice disappeared, and the image in the glass was gone as well, but just when he had breathed a sigh of relief, a huge face of a black dragon suddenly protruded from a mirror around the corner— “Bang!”

Mo Fei was startled, but the black dragon wore a smug expression, “Tsk tsk tsk, got upset so quickly?

How boring.”

“What exactly do you want?” Mo Fei said angrily.

“I want to help you,” the black dragon replied while idly picking at its claws, that indifferent expression just begging for a punch.

Help my ass, Mo Fei thought.

If it wasn’t for his last-minute calm, he would probably have been dragged into the police station by now, and the best outco he could’ve expected might have been life imprisonnt.

So that’s it—

Suddenly, Mo Fei understood.

This was precisely the black dragon’s goal: to trap him in prison.

He had heard about the kind of environnt that was, and once under the threat of violence, he would have no choice but to rely on it.

During this process, Morphis would surely gradually invade his consciousness, take control of his body, and ultimately replace him completely.

Just the thought of this possibility sent chills down his spine and ignited a wave of anger.

“Get lost!

You damn reptile, I know what you want, you want to control , don’t you?

Take over my body, steal everything from , but don’t delude yourself…”

The black dragon suddenly lunged at him, a huge dragon’s claw reached out through the glass, firmly grasping Mo Fei’s neck.

The dark scales of the dragon’s claw appeared unnervingly real, and Mo Fei could even see the reflection of the fluorescent light on Dragon Scale.

The dragon’s claw tightened slowly, and the imnse force made it impossible for him to resist, leaving him gasping for air.

Those blood-red eyes glared at him through the glass’s reflection, filled with hatred.

“That’s what I should be saying to you, human.

You shaless thief, despicable scum, controlling my body, playing with my fate, stealing my life.

Now do you know how it feels to be controlled by soone else?

Good, you’ll get used to this feeling…”

Mo Fei felt himself suffocating, the world around him growing darker until a voice suddenly called out from behind him— “Hey, Mo Fei.”

Mo Fei jerked awake from the nightmare-like hallucination to find himself standing in the middle of the corridor, no dragon’s claw, no one choking him.

He could see the city’s nightscape outside the window, with neon lights shining in beautiful, vibrant colors and his own reflection being the only other presence.

Mo Fei was still shaken; this thing was too sinister, having even interfered with reality.

He touched his neck, where the sensation of suffocation lingered.

Turning around sowhat gratefully, he saw Che Xiaoyan, a fellow anchor from the Monster Zone, although she was a Succubus…

Looking puzzled, Che Xiaoyan followed Mo Fei’s gaze towards the nearby window but saw nothing out of the ordinary.

“I heard from soone that you had a conflict with the young executive.

Is it true?”

Mo Fei shook his head, “Not at all, don’t listen to idle chatter.”

Che Xiaoyan was relentless, grabbing Mo Fei’s arm and shaking it, “Co on, Dragon Bro, don’t fool .

We signed the contract together, and now that it’s nearing its end, everyone is watching to see which way the wind blows.

You’re the top dog of our Monster Zone; the company will start negotiations with you, right?

Give a hint, how’s it going?”

Usually, Mo Fei might have actually revealed sothing, but right now, he just wanted to hurry ho.

Mo Fei shook his head, “Can’t say for sure yet, but there should be a result by tomorrow.”

After saying that, he sighed and walked away, his mind heavy with concerns.
