Pu Sangzhi said she would prepare a gift for Huo Feng, and she wasn’t just talking.

After the evening self-study session, she spent so brain cells thinking about what kind of gift would be appropriate for Huo Feng?

Of course, under any precondition for gifting, it must be sothing she could afford.

Pu Sangzhi didn’t have much spare money, and for her, every yuan in her family’s budget had to be spent wisely.

So if she were really going to spend money to buy Huo Feng a gift, the gift’s value definitely wouldn’t be high...

Huo Feng usually spent money lavishly, and Pu Sangzhi was worried he might not appreciate a cheap gift.

She had many concerns, so much so that she couldn’t decide what to give him during half a class session.

This was a problem she needed to think over properly.

...

After the midterm grades were released, a major overhaul of the student council was also scheduled.

The student council consisted of outstanding students from grades 10, 11, and 12. Its basic task was to follow and implent the Party’s educational policies, to promote comprehensive developnt among students in moral, intellectual, and physical aspects, and to unite and guide students to beco qualified talents who love the motherland and adapt to the demands of the modernization of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

These were all official words, simply put, it’s the managent layer among all the students.

Mainly responsible for tutoring teachers and schools, in the managent of discipline and rules for all students, and assisting in the cultural and sports systems.

Since seniors needed to focus fully on preparing for college entrance exams, a large general eting involving all mbers of the student council was held after the midterm.

The general eting roughly addressed:

1. Seniors will be graduating, so so of their important tasks will be handed over to the next batch of juniors and sophomores.

2. The president of the student council will step down after the seniors graduate, hence the next president can start being grood from this sester. A candidate will be elected from within the student council’s executive board to take on the role of the vice president and will formally assu the president role upon the current president’s stepping down.

3. The overall structure of the student council will be re-planned. mbers of the executive board, secretariat, study departnt, organization departnt, arts departnt, sports departnt, external relations departnt, publicity departnt, health departnt, inspectorate, and so on can nominate themselves from within, and transfers can be made internally to fill the vacancies left by graduating seniors.

Pu Sangzhi, Wen Miao, Zhu Dandan, Yao ii were all part of the student council, and of course, class president Wu Beilei, with her superior abilities, had exceptionally beco a mber of the executive board.

On Thursday afternoon, this large conference lasted nearly two hours.

The content of the eting seed cumberso and redundant, but Pu Sangzhi concluded that it had little relevance to her.

The main content was that seniors would be stepping down en masse after their college entrance exams, and with the heavy academic load faced by seniors in their final year, they aid to lighten their load by transferring the tasks of senior council mbers gradually to the juniors and sophomores from today onward.

This arrangent would ensure that seniors could have ample ti for revision, while juniors and sophomores could familiarize themselves with the workings and rules of the student council, and be capable of taking charge after the senior students graduated.

Pu Sangzhi was a mber of the student council’s disciplinary committee group and was satisfied with her group, with no desire for change.

Therefore, the content of this eting, though complex, was of little relevance to her.

During this eting, students who loved to show off did not miss their chance to do so, like class president Wu Beilei...

Although class president Wu Beilei was only a sophomore, she had strong work capabilities and a well-known competitive spirit.

She was very interested in the position of student council president, so Wu Beilei was the first to raise her hand and volunteer herself to the executive board applying for the vice president’s role.

Apart from Wu Beilei, the second student in the council to raise their hand and volunteer for the vice president role was quite a surprise to everyone!

Seeing that student confidently stand and nominate himself, all eyes in the student council were fixed on him.

Because... that student was Han Feiyi!

Han Feiyi was the vice-director of the student council’s arts departnt, not yet a mber of the executive board.

Under normal circumstances, she wouldn’t qualify to apply for the vice president role, but considering her father was a dean, the student council president exceptionally allowed her into the candidate list.

Candidates in the list would each take turns being the vice president for two weeks, handling the various responsibilities of the vice president. By the end of this term, the executive board mbers would decide on the vice president candidate.

Then, the selected vice president candidate confird by the nomination would be the student council president for the next school year’s second half.

Following that, students in the executive board who were eager to show off volunteered one by one, all competing for the vice president position. There were as many as five candidates!

The pursuit of high positions had little attraction for most ordinary mbers of the student council.

So, while capable people eagerly strived for themselves, other mbers were like spectators, resting their chins in their hands and quietly waiting for the eting to end.

After two hours, when the student council president announced the eting was over, the issues raised during the eting were still unresolved.

However, these issues were clearly rembered by those who were interested. Those who needed to perform would still seize the opportunity...

The current senior student council president, Jin Binbin, was a very capable person.

Not only was he capable, but he also had a strong family background; it was said that Jin Binbin’s father was the secretary of Tangxia Town.

As such, Jin Binbin’s words carried a lot of weight in the student council.

After the eting, many of the student council mbers seized the opportunity to curry favor with Jin Binbin.

Wu Beilei and Han Feiyi proceeded directly to Jin Binbin, feigning an eagerness to learn, and asked him for advice on managing the student council.

However, Jin Binbin did not pay attention to them. Instead, he took advantage of the mont while the other council mbers had not yet dispersed and called out to Pu Sangzhi!

"Sangzhi!"

As he called out, many students in the conference room turned to look at him.

Pu Sangzhi also stopped and turned towards him.

Jin Binbin circumvented the other students, notebook in hand, and hurried over to her. "Sangzhi, do you have ti? I’d like to talk to you."

By then, it was around 6 p.m., only half an hour before evening self-study.

Pu Sangzhi had intended to take advantage of the ti to return to her dormitory but Jin Binbin had detained her...

Pu Sangzhi found no reason to refuse, so she agreed, "Hmm..."

Jin Binbin glanced around and, seeing students everywhere, he said, "Co with to my office."

The student council president had a small office that, although not big and seldom used for anything important, primarily served to signify his status as president.

The surrounding students saw Pu Sangzhi being stopped by Jin Binbin who blatantly asked her to go to the office. His actions were too conspicuous, as if declaring sothing.

However...

Earlier, many students in the council were aware of Jin Binbin’s affection for Pu Sangzhi. Everyone turned a blind eye, and the situation was the sa now.

Subsequently, Pu Sangzhi was sowhat confusedly led by Jin Binbin to the office...

...

During the recent student council eting, Pu Sangzhi had not expressed any opinions, believing herself inconspicuous.

Thus, she did not understand why Jin Binbin had singled her out and called her to the office.

And Jin Binbin, who had called her to his office, obviously had ulterior motives.

"Sit, Sangzhi."

Jin Binbin pulled up a chair for her, and Pu Sangzhi obediently sat down.

After she sat, Jin Binbin did not take a seat but stood beside her, one hand in his pocket, placing the notebook on the desk.

Seeing him standing, Pu Sangzhi felt uncomfortable sitting, so she stood up again, "President?"

"It’s alright, you sit,"

Jin Binbin pointed to the chair and said, "Just so minor things to discuss with you."

Pu Sangzhi took a step back, clasped her hands in front of her, and nodded ekly, "President, please speak."

Behind his glasses, Jin Binbin’s eyes captured the tranquil deanor of Pu Sangzhi—all her movents and smiles were beautiful scenes to him.

Jin Binbin unabashedly expressed his admiration, getting straight to the point, "I noticed you didn’t speak at today’s eting. I should have spoken to you earlier. For today’s session, you should have volunteered yourself."

Pu Sangzhi was startled, "President, I am not a part of the presidium, I don’t have the right to nominate myself."

"I am not asking you to nominate yourself for the position of vice president."

Jin Binbin chuckled lightly, "I am asking you to nominate yourself for a position in the presidium. There will be five people graduating with , and I can reserve a spot for you in advance."

This sounded like a great opportunity.

Jin Binbin was planning to use his presidency to secure her a place in the presidium...

But Pu Sangzhi could not accept his favor, so she declined, "There’s no need, don’t keep a spot for . The presidium’s tasks are demanding, and I’m afraid I won’t be able to handle it."

Jin Binbin’s dark, glossy eyes fixed on her, "Sangzhi, the student council is a good experience. It helps with university applications if it’s written in your record. While I’m still here, this transition period is a good chance for you. You should seize it."

Pu Sangzhi could vaguely perceive the implication in Jin Binbin’s words, yet she couldn’t accept such fortune, "Thank you, President. But really, there’s no need..."

Seeing her refusal, Jin Binbin stated frankly, "You don’t need to be formal with . While I am here, you should make full use of ."

"Ah..."

Pu Sangzhi was taken aback, "President, don’t say that..."

Jin Binbin locked eyes with her, a helpless smile on his face, "I’ve taken a liking to you, I told you long ago, didn’t I?"

The confession ca abruptly, causing Pu Sangzhi’s heart to flutter!

"I heard you want to get into Tsinghua, I will strive for this goal."

Jin Binbin said, "Perhaps, I will wait for you at Tsinghua."

At that mont, Pu Sangzhi was at a loss for words...
