Sophie Sullivan was exhausted. Looking at Thomas Shannon, who was still brimming with energy and vigor, she decided to go for broke. She didn’t care about anything anymore; gathering all her strength, she leaped.
She jumped onto his back, tightly hugging his neck and clamping her legs around his lean waist to prevent herself from falling.
"Maniac," Thomas Shannon said, stopping in his tracks.
Sophie Sullivan clung to his neck, terrified he would shake her off. "I won’t get down, not even if I die!"
"Are you planning to cling to for a lifeti?"
"Yes, I’m going to cling to you for a lifeti!"
Thomas Shannon raised his hand to support her butt, the smile at the corner of his mouth deepening. "Rember what you said."
Sophie Sullivan was content and replied perfunctorily, "I rember, I rember."
Lying on Thomas Shannon’s back was much more comfortable than riding cals.
Sophie Sullivan lifted her sun-shield hat slightly, then rested her head on his back and drifted off to sleep.
Despite the scorching heat, the utterly exhausted Sophie Sullivan managed to sleep peacefully on Thomas Shannon’s back.
「Imperial City, Country A.」
Frank Mitchell had not received any phone calls from Sophie Sullivan since their last eting.
He tapped his fingers on the desk, his eyes inscrutable. "Maniac, you should know that I hate people who don’t keep their promises."
Since she wasn’t willing to contact him, he had to devise another way to make her appear. To deal with Thomas Shannon, only soone he truly cared about could deliver the most fatal blow.
He picked up the telephone on his desk and dialed a number.
"Go find out if Maniac has appeared recently. Also, check Thomas Shannon’s whereabouts."
One hour later, Frank Mitchell read the ssage from his subordinate and flew into a rage, slamming his hand on the desk. "Useless! A bunch of useless fools! You can’t even find this bit of information? What do I feed you for?"
The subordinate stood before the desk, lowering his head in sha at Frank Mitchell’s fury.
Frank Mitchell grabbed the ashtray and threw it forcefully.
The subordinate didn’t dodge, and the ashtray struck him on the head.
Fresh blood trickled down, leaving a winding crimson trail on his face.
"Mister, Thomas Shannon’s whereabouts have always been clandestine. Tracking him down is no easy task," the subordinate said resentfully. "We need more ti."
"I don’t want to hear your nonsense! Get out!"
The subordinate trembled and took two steps back. "Yes, Mister. I’ll get out now."
Frank Mitchell was enraged, his eyes fierce, burning with a furious fla. Thomas Shannon... Your luck won’t last forever. Just you wait...
「Two days later.」
Frank Mitchell finally received the latest news from George Field: Thomas Shannon had taken Maniac and left Country A.
A few days prior, they had been spotted in Chefchaouen, Morocco.
Frank Mitchell smirked, touching his eyebrow. "Thomas Shannon, do you think she’s safe just because you’re keeping Maniac by your side?"
He laughed sinisterly and picked up the fax from the tabletop.
The fax contained the docunts for a doctor nad George Stanford, a palace-level expert in facial restoration surgery.
He was currently overseas for an international academic exchange.
Frank Mitchell carefully reviewed George Stanford’s docunts, the smile at the corners of his lips widening. Maniac, I’ll make you co to obediently. I definitely will.
「It was a dark and windy night.」
George Stanford and a few like-minded doctors had gone to a bar for so wine before returning to their hotel.
