Yang Danning pursed her lips, "Okay then."
"I’m off to class."
Ji Anning said hello, and without waiting for Yang Danning to say anything, she turned and walked away without looking back.
She covered the right side of her lower abdon with one hand; she had just drunk a bottle of beverage, and because she had run too hastily just now, the area was stabbing with pain.
Sighing, Yang Danning watched Ji Anning’s retreating figure, opened her mouth to call out to her, but Ji Anning ran faster than a rabbit, so she gave up.
Pulling her gaze back, she looked down at the Pop Rocks in her hand, puzzled, and entered the infirmary.
On the hospital bed, the man lay there, an IV dripping into his hand, his eyes closed. His handso face was pale, possessing an unusual, sickly beauty.
The fondness in Yang Danning’s eyes couldn’t be restrained. She walked over, bent down, and sat on the edge of the bed, her eyes fixated on Ji Chicheng’s face without blinking.
"Chicheng brother, I like you so much."
The usually brash her only dared to confess so directly when he couldn’t hear her.
The man on the bed didn’t move, and every part of him—from his long, thick eyelashes to his straight nose and faintly pursed lips—made her heart pound incessantly.
"I hope it really works."
After a while, Yang Danning reluctantly shifted her gaze away from Ji Chicheng’s face and opened a pack of Pop Rocks.
One hand slowly reached towards Ji Chicheng’s jaw, her fingertips trembling slightly upon contact. She held back for a mont, then gently pinched.
Ji Chicheng’s mouth was slightly open, and she poured a little of the Pop Rocks into his mouth, not daring to pour too much.
Then she withdrew her hand, the other hand greedily moving to Ji Chicheng’s lips, her fingertips tracing the corners of his mouth upwards.
Suddenly, the man’s eyes snapped open.
Without any warning, Yang Danning was startled, withdrawing her hand with a guilty conscience. She hesitated for a mont before starting to laugh with joy, "You’re awake, you’re really awake!"
"Where did this candy co from?"
Ji Chicheng opened his eyes and imdiately saw the Pop Rocks in Yang Danning’s hand. He abruptly sat up, grabbed her hand, and asked.
Excitent twinkled in his deep eyes.
Yang Danning was a bit frightened and looked at Ji Chicheng timidly, "What... what is it?"
Realizing that he had been too abrupt, Ji Chicheng quickly let go of Yang Danning’s hand and tried to calm his excitent, asking indifferently, "How did you know about this candy?"
From his reaction, Yang Danning sensed that he seed to have so emotional connection to the candy.
He was Anning’s uncle, so Anning must have been right.
Thinking this, she smiled slightly and said, "The doctor ntioned you were too fatigued and had low blood sugar, and that it would be best to eat sothing sugary after waking up. I knew you liked this, so I bought so."
After speaking, she lowered her head, secretly delighted that Anning had actually helped her this ti.
Upon hearing this, a flash of disappointnt crossed Ji Chicheng’s face but was quickly concealed, barely noticeable.
Then he looked at Yang Danning again and hesitated, "Why is it... just you here? Weren’t you with Anning?"
Yang Danning didn’t overthink it, "Anning has class, so she went to her class."
After a pause, she frowned and complained about Ji Anning, "It’s so improper of her, not caring about her uncle at all, not even coming to look at you."
Ji Chicheng clinched his fists.
In the IV tube, the fresh red blood traveled back up the tube.
"Thank you."
He thanked Yang Danning coolly, his voice devoid of any sincerity, and then he reached out to pull out the IV.
