The little girl covered her face, shaking her head in embarrassnt. "I’m so embarrassed, so embarrassed."
Her coy little deanor amused both Qi Xiaoxiao and Qi Helian, mother and son.
Qi Helian bent down to pick up the little girl, still looking at her with a face full of affection.
Seeing this, Qi Xiaoxiao’s heart ached for him again. She patted Qi Helian’s shoulder encouragingly, "Son, listen to your mom’s advice. There are plenty of good n in this world, and good girls too. Perhaps you have what it takes to win over both, and even if you end up with a little baggage, Mama can accept that."
As she said this, she turned to glance at Ji Anning, held in Ji Chicheng’s embrace, her eyes suddenly moist. She sighed, "Ah, our Helian is so rarely fond of soone."
Her tone was tinged with guilt.
It was rare for her to be so concerned about her son’s affairs, yet she felt powerless.
Qi Helian gave a faint smile, not continuing the conversation, and turning his head, Ji Anning was already holding Ji Chicheng’s hand in front of him.
"Qi Helian, you little beauty," Ji Anning teased as she gently nudged Qi Helian’s chin with her hand.
Qi Helian frowned. "Little girl, dare to make fun of ?"
"I wouldn’t dare, I wouldn’t dare," Ji Anning quickly shook her head, struggling to keep from laughing as she said, "I’m treating you to dinner to properly thank you for your great kindness."
Qi Helian laughed, "I feel I richly deserve this al."
Ji Chicheng and Qi Xiaoxiao, listening to their conversation, were completely clueless.
After dinner, it was already past eight o’clock. Fenfen got into the car, made so noise for a while, and then fell asleep. The inside of the vehicle quieted down.
"Are you and Qi He very close?"
Finally, on the Nth ti Ji Chicheng looked back at Ji Anning, he asked the question he had been holding in all evening.
"I don’t know if ’close’ is the right word. Anyway, I knew him before I knew you," she replied ambiguously, then turned to look out the car window, biting back laughter.
Ji Chicheng raised his voice slightly, calling her with a warning tone, "Ji Anning!"
"Oh my, are you jealous?" Ji Anning turned around, leaning on the backrest of the driver’s seat, looking at the man with a darkened face in the driver’s seat, teasing him with a laugh.
In the dark night, the man shot back a completely disdainful cold sneer at her.
"No fun." Ji Anning pouted and sat back down.
Originally, she was just sulking in silence, but as she kept quiet, she actually fell asleep.
The car stopped, but Ji Chicheng didn’t call her, so she didn’t even know to wake up.
Ji Chicheng, carrying Fenfen, walked ahead, while Ji Anning, rubbing her sleepy eyes, muddleheadedly followed behind him.
After changing shoes and entering the house, the living room was extrely quiet—a silence so profound it felt eerie. Alert now, she looked toward the sofa.
Ji Mingyue was sitting on the sofa with a stormy expression, looking at Ji Anning and Ji Chicheng. Lin Yanqin sat by her side, also looking at them, her face showing a cold smile.
Only the two of them were in the living room.
Unaware of what had happened, Ji Anning grew nervous, but Ji Chicheng remained unaffected, carrying Fenfen at a steady pace towards the staircase.
"Ji Chicheng!"
As Ji Chicheng passed by Ji Mingyue, she suddenly shouted at him in anger.
Ji Chicheng stopped in his tracks, turned around indifferently, and looked at Ji Anning. "Take Fenfen upstairs first," he said.
Ji Anning nodded, but before she could lift her foot, Ji Mingyue suddenly called out to the dining room, "Sister Wu!"
Sister Wu imdiately ca out from the dining room, "Fourth Young Miss."
(Now that the relationship is finally out in the open to the whole world, can you still bear to save your votes?)
