"He’s going to work," Ji Anning stretched out her hand to caress the little girl’s head, "to earn money for Fenfen to buy new clothes, nice books, and tasty food."

As she spoke, she picked up the blocks, stacking them one by one, and the building they were constructing grew taller and taller.

"Also to buy milk powder for your mom, and bags and costics."

Suddenly, a familiar male voice ca from the doorway. Ji Anning turned her head in surprise to see a man walking toward them with one hand in his pants pocket and the other carrying a large white plastic bag, a slight smile on his face.

She asked in surprise, "Uncle, why have you co so early?"

After being out for so many days, shouldn’t there be a lot of work to take care of?

She thought he wouldn’t have ti to visit the hospital these two days.

"I’ve taken care of what needed to be handled," Ji Chicheng replied indifferently to Ji Anning, his eyes imdiately drawn to the little person sitting on the bed, smiling as he lifted the large plastic bag in his hand, "Fenfen, look what daddy has brought you."

It must be sothing to eat.

Ji Anning thought so, and so did Fenfen. The little girl dropped the blocks she was holding, scrambled to her feet on the bed, and, with arms outstretched, her voice beca exceptionally tender and childish, "Daddy, baby missed daddy."

This sweet little mouth really had no rival.

Ji Anning frowned as she watched the deeply embracing father and daughter, feeling an unexpected sourness in her heart.

Wasn’t that tall man only supposed to dote on her alone?

Wasn’t her daughter supposed to be close only with her alone?

The two most important people to her suddenly had soone else sharing them, and that feeling...

"Ice cream, very small ones, so they won’t upset your stomach," Ji Chicheng sat on the edge of the bed, pulling things out of the bag one by one, "and also lollipops, but you can’t eat them at night, or your teeth will get worms."

Each item was sothing the little girl liked. She took them and clutched them tightly to her chest, "Hmm hmm hmm, all Fenfen’s, daddy is good."

The interaction between father and daughter seed so cloying to Ji Anning; she frowned and sulkily curled her lips, letting out a "tch" sound.

Then she turned her head, no longer wanting to watch their father-daughter affection, and got ready to find sothing else to do, but suddenly she heard Ji Chicheng say, "Only these are for Fenfen; the rest is for mommy."

As he spoke, he tightened the opening of the bag, stood up, and walked over to Ji Anning.

Ji Anning glanced down at the large half-filled bag in Ji Chicheng’s hand and pouted, "Who wants these anyway."

Obviously, she ant the opposite.

"Then throw it in the trash can." Ji Chicheng forced the bag into Ji Anning’s hands, then coolly turned around and went back to Fenfen’s side.

Being in love with a proud man could sotis be infuriating.

Just like now, buying you sothing is just that, straightforward without any sweet-talking, take it or leave it, and if not, throw it away.

Ji Anning looked discontentedly at Ji Chicheng’s proud figure, wanting to smash him with the bag in her hands, but... she was more curious about what he had bought for her.

Really, no backbone at all.

Ji Anning pouted her lips, bowed her head, and stealthily peeked inside the bag; it was food, and it was her favorite Shengjian bao with soup, and just like that, any complaints she had about Mr. Ji vanished in an instant.

When she looked up at Ji Chicheng again, she awkwardly curled her upper lip.
