"Delicious." She couldn’t wait to scrape a bit of cream from the edge with her index finger and tasted it—it was great. She stuck her finger in her mouth, nodded at Ji Chicheng, and while licking her finger, she looked up at him, "The peach flavor is amazing, Uncle Ji, what flavor do you like?"
Ji Chicheng watched Ji Anning’s enthusiastic performance, a gentle indulgence spreading across his lips as he stepped back and lazily leaned against the windowsill.
Then, he spoke softly, "I like you."
It was just a light remark, without deliberate depth of feeling.
Ji Anning, however, was startled and looked up, her eyes sparkling. The man was backlit, his handso face even more chiseled and profound, full of deep affection.
She kept her index finger in her mouth, dazed and infatuated.
"I wish your finger were ."
Ji Chicheng suddenly spoke again, breaking the beautiful stillness. He stuffed his hands into his pockets and slowly walked toward Ji Anning.
"What do you an?" Ji Anning asked, puzzled, as she watched the approaching man, and pulled her finger out of her mouth to look at it.
There was still a bit of cream at the joint, which she licked off with her tongue.
Ji Chicheng watched her, his brow furrowing slightly, his body stiffened for a mont.
This girl, despite having had a child and being in the entertainnt industry, why was she still so naive about such matters?
He was sowhat annoyed, sped up his pace, grabbed a tissue, and helped Ji Anning wipe the saliva off her finger, then his gaze seemingly casually swept over the cake coated with peach sauce.
A touch of lancholy rippled through his deep black eyes, layer upon layer.
Ji Chicheng was sowhat absentminded; Ji Anning glanced at him, a sly twinkle in her bright eyes.
Her other hand swiftly grabbed a handful of cream from the side of the cake and deftly sared it on Ji Chicheng’s lips.
She knew this action was highly risky. After doing it, she imdiately dodged away and moved a few feet away; then she watched Ji Chicheng, whose lips were covered in cream, and deliberately laughed exaggeratedly.
She wanted to see him laugh, not be sad.
The cream on his lips, the faint sweetness involuntarily seeped into his mouth; Ji Chicheng frowned in annoyance as he watched that smug troublemaker waving her victory flag.
Ji Anning’s shoulders trembled with laughter; her eyes curved into crescents, and her cheeks were flushed red.
Ji Chicheng, extrely amused, tilted his head, shrugged his shoulders, and patiently waited for her laughter to subside.
Watching him like that, Ji Anning felt both thrilled and scared. This was the first ti she had dared to be so bold with him. They had been together before and she had been pampered by him, but she had never truly let go.
She felt that now, between them, it was like they were truly dating, truly like lovers.
Ji Chicheng watched her laughing, extrely patient. Feeling it wasn’t provocative enough, she tried to tease him again, "Sweet or not?"
"Co here, and I’ll tell you if it’s sweet." Ji Chicheng beckoned Ji Anning with his hand, looking very good-natured.
"No way." Rather than approaching, Ji Anning cautiously retreated a few steps and continued to mock boldly, "I know you’ve already tasted it, and it’s sweet. Oh dear, my grandma’s birthday cake must be very sweet."

Usually, Ji Chicheng would grimace at any ntion of his mother, but now, hearing that term from Ji Anning’s mouth, he could only feel a wicked sense of amusent well up inside him.
