She did not speak, tilted her head, listened to the beautiful piano piece played by the pianist, and quietly watched the elegantly dressed man in the distance.

"Teacher Ji once liked every comnt that insulted Yuanyuan under the post I made."

Yao Yiyang, who was nearby, suddenly spoke again.

"Huh?" Ji Anning turned her head and blinked in surprise at Yao Yiyang, "How do you know?"

From her mory, her uncle Ji and Yuanyuan had never had any conflicts. Why would her uncle Ji like comnts that insulted Yuanyuan?

And he... he didn’t seem like soone so trivial.

"IP." Yao Yiyang smiled and looked in Ji Chicheng’s direction, "He never intended to hide it anyway."

Ji Anning: "..."

Seeing that Yao Yiyang didn’t seem to be lying, and he had no reason to make up such a rumor, she was puzzled, "Why would he like comnts insulting Yuanyuan?"

Yao Yiyang shrugged his shoulders, indicating that he didn’t know either.

At this mont, Mr. Charles finished talking with a group of people and, holding a champagne glass, walked over, smiling and speaking to Ji Anning and Yao Yiyang as he ca, "It just occurred to that you both studied in the sa university; it’s not surprising that you know each other."

Indeed, he had looked into her past, most likely after having t her.

Ji Anning mused quietly to herself for a mont, and just as Charles was about to reach her, she suddenly straightened up and said to him without any expression, "Mr. Charles, I need to go to the restroom."

With that, she raised her glass, clinked it against Charles’s, tilted her head back to down the champagne in one gulp, put down the glass, and turned, lifting her skirt slightly, as she walked toward the exit of the banquet hall.

...

"Boss, Mr. Charles is over there."

Having run into a few acquaintances—big shots in the industry—Ji Chicheng was detained and listened quietly to their pretentious talk until his assistant leaned in and discreetly pointed in Charles’s direction, whispering in his ear.

Ji Chicheng’s gaze imdiately shifted over to see Charles in a dark gray suit leaning casually against a table corner, chatting with a young man beside him.

And that young man looked sowhat familiar to him; he narrowed his eyes, about to walk over, when suddenly a call that caught his attention ca from behind.

"Mrs. Charles."

One reason was her discomfort with the incredibly high heels she wore, and the other was fear of being recognized by Ji Chicheng, Ji Anning kept her head down, walking quickly but carefully.

Suddenly a blue-eyed, bald middle-aged man stepped in front of her, smiling and attempting to strike up a conversation.

She lifted her head and managed a strained smile, "Sorry, I need to go to the restroom."

After a brief greeting, she prepared to pass by the bald middle-aged man when a familiar voice suddenly called from behind her.

"Madam."

Ji Chicheng looked at the familiar figure. Just as he was about to step forward, Charles unexpectedly moved past him, walking up to Ji Anning and casually placing a hand over her shoulder.

It was a very normal gesture, devoid of affection.

But in Ji Chicheng’s eyes, a fla of jealousy and anger flashed. He quickly strode towards Charles and Ji Anning, grabbed Charles’s arm that was around Ji Anning, and pushed him away.

Then swiftly, he grabbed Ji Anning’s wrist and led her briskly toward the exit.

The wife of the highly esteed Mr. Charles was being led away by the big boss of Beautiful City, right before everyone’s eyes, and the entire banquet hall imdiately erupted into a frenzy.
