"Yes, I also think that even an idiot can do it," Xiang Yiqing nodded, then laughed and said, "But there are always those who can turn frozen dumplings into a rice and at mush."

After speaking, he bowed his head and continued to wash the vegetables.

Ji Anning glanced at him, his lips seemingly pressed into a hint of helplessness.

She laughed, "Fools have their own fortune. If a woman can’t do anything, it gives others a chance to pamper her. If she can do everything, what do you need a man for?"

"It seems that you won really do share the sa views," Xiang Yiqing turned his head to look at Ji Anning, then added, "Regardless of age."

After he spoke, he laughed again.

That slight smile, Ji Anning felt, held too much, ant too much.

She disliked prying into other people’s gossip, knowing in her heart was enough. There was no need to spell it out for others.

"Doctor Xiang, didn’t you say you caught a big fish?"

When all the dishes were almost ready, Ji Anning looked around and didn’t see the big fish that Xiang Yiqing had ntioned to Ji Chicheng on the phone. Out of curiosity, she asked.

"Aren’t you?" Xiang Yiqing looked at Ji Anning, raising his eyebrows.

Ji Anning realized what he ant and blushed embarrassingly, "Ahem!"

She frowned, then smiled and said, "My uncle-in-law is very petty and can be deadly serious. If there’s no big fish as promised, I don’t know if he might force you to actually go fishing."

"I believe that," Xiang Yiqing nodded.

The pot was sizzling, and they were deep in conversation, completely unaware that a pair of profound eyes were glaring at them.

"I’ll take the dishes that are ready to the dining table now."

Having finished preparing several dishes, Ji Anning sneakily ate a piece then, carrying the plate, she called out to Xiang Yiqing.

Turning around and walking a few steps, she suddenly looked up and t a pair of frosty eyes. Startled, she exclaid, "Uncle-in-law."

The familiar address slipped out.

Hearing her shout, Xiang Yiqing also turned around and saw Ji Chicheng standing at the kitchen door. He raised the spatula in his hand and shook it, "Young Master Ji, what a coincidence, co and try the cooking of your Anning."

Xiang Yiqing’s words emboldened Ji Anning, and she walked up to Ji Chicheng, offering him the two bowls she was carrying. "Uncle-in-law, please have a taste."

Ji Chicheng didn’t look at the dishes; instead, he gazed at Ji Anning’s slightly timid face and sneered, "Huh, Ji Anning, I underestimated you."

Ji Anning pursed her lips, shrugged and showed a helpless expression, "You wouldn’t talk to or answer my calls, so I had to go to the trouble of coming all this way to see Doctor Xiang."

She didn’t explain that she had just happened to run into Xiang Yiqing at the park, thinking since he misunderstood, she might as well admit to it.

That way, he might think she was more sincere.

"Can you now lie without even blinking?"

Ji Chicheng raised an eyebrow, his tone tinged with sarcasm.

Ji Anning didn’t know that Ji Chicheng had been having soone follow her, so she didn’t understand what he was talking about. But she knew one thing—he was still angry.

"Where’s Fenfen?"

To avoid stirring up his anger further, she quickly changed the subject.

Before she could finish speaking, a familiar male voice ca from outside the dining room, "Over here, over here, our daughter is here."

The voice’s owner walked in.

Qi Helian was dressed in a blue sweater and deep blue jeans, carrying Fenfen and smiling as he entered.

Ji Chicheng turned his head, glanced at him, and his lips imdiately tightened for a few seconds.
