She had been aggrieved and frightened for over a decade.

Back then, her fear was simple—she rely feared being thrown out of the house, for without a ho, her parents would have no money to treat their illnesses and would die.

After listening to Ji Anning’s words, Mr. Charles remained silent for a long ti, his expression cold and unchanged.

Ji Anning nervously swallowed, then continued, "Mr. Charles, you also heard what he said that day. From the day I left two years ago, he had already considered dead. Now, my only connection to the Ji Family is Fenfen, and I have no influence over the Ji Family."

"Ha..." Suddenly, Mr. Charles laughed loudly, as if he had heard a big joke.

Ji Anning looked at him, puzzled.

Mr. Charles’s expression suddenly turned cold, his gaze filled with a murderous intent, and Ji Anning’s heart violently trembled.

"Get her in the car."

With one command to the two female bodyguards standing in front of Ji Anning, Mr. Charles turned and got into the car.

Facing two bodyguards with rcenary backgrounds, Ji Anning had no strength to resist and was easily subdued and forcibly taken into the car.

"Turn on the air conditioning to blow cold air."

As the car started, Mr. Charles coldly ordered the driver.

The driver dared not delay for even a mont, imdiately switching the heater to emit cold air, and the cool air followed.

Ji Anning, soaked to the skin, shivered uncontrollably from the cold air, her neck shrinking.

Mr. Charles’s brooding blue eyes were fixed on her, watching to see how long she could last, how much she could endure.

Ji Anning clenched her teeth and remained silent.

It was not until the car stopped in the courtyard and the door opened that she supported herself on the door fra and got out; the temperature outside was the sa as inside the car.

"Being stubborn with will not end well for you."

Mr. Charles was furious, his gaze coldly swept over Ji Anning, and then he strode heavily into the house.

The two bodyguards followed closely behind Ji Anning, who could not escape.

But she really did not want to step into the Charles’ house again.

Ji Anning did not run away, but she also did not walk inside the house; she just stood there in the rain.

Letting the cold wind assault her.

"Do not allow her to have an umbrella."

One of the bodyguards was about to give Ji Anning an umbrella when Mr. Charles, who had already entered the house, turned around and ordered that bodyguard.

The bodyguard imdiately retracted the umbrella.

She did not know how long it had been, but her strength was gradually waning.

Suddenly, a powerful light shone from outside the courtyard, making the entire rain-stricken courtyard brighten up.

The two bodyguards alertly turned their heads to look at the approaching car, while Ji Anning did not move at all.

A black sedan ca to a halt less than two ters behind Ji Anning, and a tall man got out of the car; the two female bodyguards imdiately confronted him, "Who are you?"

"Get out of the way."

The man’s angry, forceful voice, commanding and dominant, reached Ji Anning’s ears.

A flicker of excitent passed across Ji Anning’s pale face, her dull eyes suddenly brightened, and she turned. The unyielding man was making his way towards her.

The two female bodyguards pointed their guns at him.

Ji Anning’s heart was about to leap out of her chest, her eyes wide with both excitent and fear, "Uncle."

"Ji Anning, you dropped your car keys, I ca to bring them to you."

Ji Chicheng walked up to Ji Anning and handed her the freshly pulled off car keys.

Ji Anning looked down, her eyes blurred by the rain, seeing nothing clearly.

She slowly raised her hand, trembling as she reached towards Ji Chicheng.
