...
The car slowly approached the intersection, and Ji Chicheng saw Ji Anning standing outside the courtyard gate from a distance.
She was grasping the iron gate railing with both hands, looking anxiously inside. Even when the car pulled up behind her, she didn’t notice it.
The front of the car inched closer to Ji Anning, Ji Chicheng’s foot still resting on the accelerator, but when he pressed down, he switched to the brake instead.
The sound of braking was quite loud, and finally, Ji Anning realized there was soone behind her. She turned around and the first thing she saw was the man in the driver’s seat, his face dark and gloomy as he stared at her.
She opened her mouth in surprise but before she could react, the man in the car suddenly turned on the headlights.
The intense light shone directly at her, blinding her so that she couldn’t open her eyes and she raised her arm to shield them.
"Mr. Ji is back."
The household servants, upon seeing Ji Chicheng’s car, hurried over to open the gate.
As the yard gate swung open, Ji Anning stood in front of the car, motionless, looking at the man inside.
"Move aside."
Ji Chicheng spoke coldly.
Ji Anning’s response was anything but submissive, "I want to see Fenfen."
"Do you think I wouldn’t dare to step on the gas?" Ji Chicheng’s cold voice ca from the car again.
This ti, it seed even more irritated.
He... didn’t dare, because he was afraid, afraid that if he stepped on it, he would instantly regret it.
Ji Anning didn’t speak, closing her eyes without fear.
"Ji Anning!"
The man could no longer control his emotions, which had been building up. He pushed the car door open, stepped out, and strode over to Ji Anning. He grabbed her shoulders and shoved her against the hood of his car.
He leaned in, his tall fra pressing down on her, his cold breath approaching until it stopped less than three centiters from her. In his dark, ominous eyes, rage flared like fire, "If you wanted to cut ties with , why did you still bear my child?"
"Because..."
Ji Anning opened her mouth to speak, but before she could, the man’s lips pressed down harshly, silencing her cruel, heartless words and forcing her to swallow them back.
"Mmm..."
She raised her fists but hesitated.
She missed him, missed his white shirt, missed his scent, missed his presence, tornted night after night to the brink of madness.
In her mont of hesitation, the man’s lips abruptly pulled away, "Ji Anning, it turns out you really don’t turn away any man, do you?"
The sarcasm from Ji Chicheng cut through her heart like a knife, again and again.
In so much pain she could hardly breathe, it took a long ti for Ji Anning to recover. Lying on the hood of the car, she looked at the man before her and sneered coldly, "Yes... anyone who can benefit , make famous and successful, I’m willing. Uncle, do you want too?"
As she spoke, she subtly changed her tone and then smiled seductively, "It’s not impossible, but I need to check my schedule."
She was wearing a white woolen garnt as she lay on the black hood of the car, the light casting her petite face in an especially bright and alluring light.
This Ji Anning was truly bad to the bone.
Bad enough that he wanted to strangle her, to be done with her once and for all, but he couldn’t do it, he couldn’t bear to.
He also despised himself for loving her to such a fatal extent.
"Didn’t you want to see Fenfen?"
After a long, tense silence, Ji Chicheng’s cold voice broke the quiet once more, "I’ll give you a chance. You can stay here, but don’t even think about stepping one foot outside this door, or else you can forget about ever seeing her again."
