Ji Chicheng spoke again, and after finishing his words, with a slight lift of his eyes, the waiter standing a few ters away imdiately understood and ca over with three bottles.

His unhurried tone, filled with irony, felt like his hand had viciously grasped at Anning’s heart.

For a mont, the pain nearly suffocated her, and the blush on her face could not conceal her current paleness. Her bright, almond-shaped eyes slightly widened as she looked at the man across from her.

His deep eyes also stared at her unblinkingly, shimring with a hint of cold, mocking amusent.

Anning’s breath trembled slightly. She tried to hold it in, nearly unable to restrain herself, and hurriedly shifted her gaze from Ji Chicheng’s face to the three bottles of alcohol that the waiter had just brought over.

A glance was enough to tell that they were all spirits.

Such strong spirits—not to ntion three bottles—even three glasses would probably leave her unconscious.

Besides, she couldn’t drink at the mont.

Anning could feel the man across from her still staring at her. After collecting herself for a mont, she looked back and curved her lips into a bewitching smile, "I’m sorry, Mr. Ji, when I go out to dine, I don’t touch a drop of alcohol."

"Don’t touch a drop of alcohol..." Ji Chicheng repeated Anning’s words with a snort, as if he had heard a great joke. His hand rested on the table, his slender fingers tapping absentmindedly like playing the piano, his gaze filled with sarcasm never leaving Anning, firmly fixed on her delicate face.

His gaze left Anning no place to hide, no way to dodge, forcing her to et his eyes.

She said nothing, silently awaiting Ji Chicheng’s next words, every minute, every second was tornt.

"I never would have thought Ms. Ji to be such a reserved person..." Ji Chicheng’s voice trailed off, then suddenly shifted, "But then, when out for social engagent, for whom are you being so reserved?"

Every word, every phrase, was an attack on Anning’s pride.

Anning smiled lightly, "It has nothing to do with being reserved or not. I have social engagents almost every day, sotis even several in one day, but I never drink. And your place here, Mr. Ji, will be no exception."

And your place here, Mr. Ji, will be no exception... These words categorized Ji Chicheng among those people she normally dealt with in her social engagents. To put it simply, in her heart, he was no different from them, all on the sa level.

A cold light flashed through Ji Chicheng’s eyes and the sneer on his face also faded away, "Three bottles of alcohol, without a single drop left, and the contract can be signed imdiately after."

As he spoke, he pushed the already opened bottle of spirits towards Anning.

Anning’s heart clenched, her hands resting on the table subconsciously lifted to touch her slightly bulging belly. Her eyes welled up with tears, and she quickly lowered her eyelids to compose herself.

Then she looked up at Ji Chicheng with a faint smile and said, "Thank you for your high regard, Mr. Ji, but I feel my current reputation isn’t quite a match for Beautiful City, so you really should seek soone more suitable."

Unable to stay another second, she picked up her small purse and squeezed past Wang Zhuoling, who was sitting outside.

Wang Zhuoling panicked and called out to her retreating figure, "Anning..."

Anning didn’t turn back, didn’t respond, her steps resolute as she walked out of everyone’s sight.

She reached the elevator and pressed the button.

Wang Zhuoling chased after her, and once by her side began to scold, "Anning, what’s the matter with you?"
