Auntie said, "He said he would be ho in about half an hour."

Half an hour...

Ji Anning picked up her phone, opened the cara, and looked at her face. The color on both sides of her face was noticeably different, and there was a bit of swelling. He would definitely notice the mont he returned.

She frowned, pursed her lips, her eyes rolled around, and then they lit up. She suddenly got up.

"Don’t tell him about my face and the visit from that young lady earlier."

After giving Auntie a hasty explanation, she lifted her foot and ran out of the dining room.

...

Upon entering, Ji Chicheng took off his down jacket, turned around, and reached for the door handle ready to close the door, his gaze drifting to the road outside the courtyard one more ti.

He frowned in thought for a mont, before finally shutting the door.

"Sir, you’re back."

Auntie respectfully greeted Ji Chicheng as he returned.

Ji Chicheng changed his shoes and handed the down jacket to Auntie, "Has she had breakfast yet?"

Auntie nodded and replied, "Yes, she’s had it, but she sneaked another ice cream."

Hearing this, a hint of indulgence flashed through Ji Chicheng’s eyes. Despite the affectionate expression, his handso face still seed indifferent. He nodded and, as if rembering sothing else, he asked, "Did we have any visitors today?"

After asking, his gaze fixed firmly on Auntie’s slightly cloudy eyes.

Observing her hesitation.

After a mont’s hesitation, Auntie shook her head, "No."

Ji Chicheng ignored her response, stepped past her, and headed straight for the stairs.

Ji Anning stood in the bathroom, checking her makeup over and over. The blush was too heavy, so she applied more powder. It was her first ti using such bright red lipstick.

After applying lipstick, she was ready to touch up her mascara, when the man, with his hands tucked in his pockets, leaned against the door fra, watching her fuss over her pretty little face with a lazy look.

He watched with interest, his lips curling with patience.

As Ji Anning was about to use the powder compact again, her hand shook, and a familiar figure flashed past in the mirror of her compact. She was startled.

Turning around, her red lips parted in surprise, she blinked, "Uncle, when did you get back?"

Her eyelashes, thick and dense from the mascara, fluttered like the wings of a butterfly, incredibly playful.

An affectionate smile spread across Ji Chicheng’s handso face as he watched her. He quirked an eyebrow and asked, "Are you going out?"

Ji Anning knew why he was asking. She replied cheerfully, "When I ca here, I specially bought a set of makeup, but I’ve never had a chance to use it since I’ve been here. I was just too bored, so I decided to practice my makeup skills."

With that, she put down the powder compact and walked towards Ji Chicheng.

Suddenly, Ji Chicheng lifted his foot, his long leg stepping in front of Ji Anning, "Don’t move."

Then, with one hand on Ji Anning’s shoulder, he reached into her makeup bag with the other, pulled out an eyebrow pencil, and positioned it at the head of her right eyebrow.

With feather-light strokes, Ji Anning’s heartbeat uncontrollably slowed down a half beat.

She looked up, her face tilted, gazing at Ji Chicheng’s handso face close at hand, his flawless features, his gentle breath stirring her heart.

Her heart was inexplicably tense.

"Are you trying to undress ?"

Ji Chicheng suddenly looked down at his chest.

Ji Anning followed his gaze down and realized that her hands were on his shirt without her knowing when they had gotten there.

She quickly let go and retreated two steps back, embarrassed, "I didn’t an to."
