Three words, upon being spoken, seed to bring everything to a standstill.

Breathing... heartbeat... and even ti itself.

Ji Anning’s lips trembled, and tears welled up in her eyes as she listened to the heavy breathing of the other person, as if right next to her ear. She covered her mouth and cried out loud.

"Uncle, I miss you, I really really want to be with you," she said.

Seizing that mont of courage, that nearly suffocating emotion, she blurted out the words that had been weighing on her heart.

In the empty stairwell, only her sobs could be heard, as she covered her mouth, unable to hold them back.

Longing is a mystic thing

It follows like a shadow

Silently lurking at the bottom of the heart

In an instant, I am swallowed by loneliness

I am powerless to resist, especially at night

Missing you until I can hardly breathe

Wishing I could run straight to you

And tell you loudly

I am willing for you, I am willing for you

...

Suddenly, familiar music ca from upstairs, she just sang that song, she paused—was that her own voice?

She was not familiar with her own voice, but upon listening carefully, she recognized it, because near the end, her voice broke several tis.

Having confird it was her voice, she suddenly looked up towards the top of the stairs.

Her mouth agape, shocked... surprised...

The man stood there, lazily leaning on the stair railing, one hand tucked into his neatly pressed trouser pocket, the other holding a cellphone, his deep black eyes staring at her.

His lips, a bit glamorously red, were lightly pursed.

He appeared so suddenly within her sight, yet so casually, as if it were a scene from a dream or a movie...

The music continued to loop, over and over again "I am willing for you... I am willing for you..."

Ji Anning held her breath, but the tears she had just stopped began to stream out again. She bit her lip, trying hard not to cry out loud.

The man suddenly stopped the music, put away his phone, and his appealing voice ca from above, "Do you really an it?"

His thick brows lightly raised.

Still in that lazy, casual posture, he waited for Ji Anning’s reaction, for her response.

"I am willing," she said,

Worried that even a slight hesitation might cause him to disappear, Ji Anning bit her lip and nodded vigorously. Then she wiped her tears with her sleeve, repeating over and over, "I am willing, I am willing."

A satisfied smile erged from the depths of the man’s eyes and slowly spread across his face.

His handso face, blooming like spring flowers, was also inviting, making the onlookers feel refreshed. Ji Anning also grinned, breaking into a smile, but her sobs still caught in her breath.

For a while, she could not calm down.

"Then co here and give a hug."

The man pulled his hands out of his pockets, stood up straight, and slightly opened his arms, his eyebrows tenderly yet mischievously raised.

Even his dominance and pride were unique, exuding an irresistible charm.

"Mm." Ji Anning nodded happily, imdiately sprinted over, and threw herself into his arms, holding him tightly.

She buried her face deeply into his chest, slling the familiar scent on him, feeling his body temperature, listening to his heartbeat.

Uncle, I love you, so very much!

"You just sang pretty well," he said.

Ji Anning’s heart felt as if it had been reborn, still imrsed in the excitent and joy of ’rebirth’, when Ji Chicheng’s voice suddenly ca from above her, complinting her singing.

His topic, his tone, completely out of place for the mont.
