She would’ve been okay if she hadn’t ntioned "and also," but once she did, Yang Danning got even more annoyed. "Bullshit, you screwed up my chance. I’m not involving you in anything next ti," she snapped.
Ji Anning frowned, confused. "What do you an?"
"How sick are you, really?" Yang Danning complained furiously. "Couldn’t you have just endured it? After all, you’re his niece-in-law. When you say you’re not feeling well, how can he, as the younger uncle, be at ease?"
Listening to her, Ji Anning was still lost. She looked ahead for any empty taxis, and her gaze inadvertently caught sight of a familiar tall figure rushing out of the bespoke tailor shop.
Now she understood what Yang Danning ant.
Feeling guilty, she said, "Danning, I’m sorry."
She was sorry she didn’t have the courage to tell her the truth, truly sorry.
Ji Anning silently apologized over and over in her heart, and suddenly, a thread holding her emotions snapped. She squatted down with one hand on her phone and the other hugging her legs, biting her lip, tears brimming in her eyes.
What should she do? Danning would find out about everything one day. What was she going to do?
Her sincere apology softened Yang Danning’s heart. "Alright, just roll back ho and rest up. Regain your spirits, and don’t show up at our engagent looking like a junkie."
Ji Anning bit her lip and nodded, making a sound of agreent.
After she hung up the phone, Ji Chicheng had already approached her. She suddenly got up, glared at him angrily, and shouted low, "Ji Chicheng, why must you push like this?"
Her face was streaked with tears, and her small body shook with anger.
Ji Chicheng raised his eyebrows coolly. "Yang Danning will probably be down soon. Are you sure you want to talk here?"
Upon hearing this, Ji Anning quickly wiped her tears and turned to walk away briskly.
"Take one more step forward, and I’ll co over and hold you,"

Ji Anning’s steps halted, and she looked up, gasping in agony, struggling to control her emotions.

After a week of not seeing each other, he had changed his car to a black Porsche sports car, which didn’t match his cool and restrained temperant at all.
With only two seats, Ji Anning had no choice but to sit in the passenger seat and fastened her seatbelt as she got in.
Ji Chicheng checked the seatbelt over uneasily before starting the car.
Ji Anning was in a terrible mood and didn’t want to speak for the ti being. She rolled down the window, facing outside, letting the cold wind blow.
Ji Chicheng’s voice ca from behind her, "The chess preliminaries are on Friday. You’re soone I’ve recomnded to the principal, so don’t embarrass ."
An undeniable warning.
At his words, Ji Anning’s suppressed anger flared up again. She turned to look at Ji Chicheng. "Ji Chicheng, can’t you stop being so self-centered? Could you, just once, perhaps consider soone else’s perspective?"
She was truly exhausted.
"Your perspective is too low; you always have to look up. Why should I take your viewpoint?" Ji Chicheng said, raising an eyebrow expressionlessly at Ji Anning.
Ji Anning: "..."
She really wanted to curse. Without them and their low perspectives, how would there be a contrast to their high status?
"As long as you make it through the preliminaries, I’ll make Yang Danning give up for good," Ji Chicheng stated flatly.
Ji Anning frowned, her tone certain. "You’re threatening ."
Ji Chicheng didn’t deny it. "Or would you rather continue to watch this? getting engaged to her, letting her fall deeper, but I will still maintain our secret relationship with you. You choose one."
