She quickly put on a smile and politely nodded at the man before her, "Principal."

This was T University’s principal, Zhang Zhijun. But what could the principal want with her?

Ji Anning maintained a smile on her face while wondering in her heart what the principal was seeking her out for; as a principal, his proactive call for her was certainly not a coincidence.

The principal’s face was gentle, and so was his tone, "Co to the principal’s office after class."

Going to the principal’s office... Ji Anning was alard inside, but her response did not dare to be the slightest bit negligent as she nodded to the principal, "Okay."

The principal smiled, "Then go to class first."

...

Throughout the class, Ji Anning was distracted, puzzled about why the principal would personally ask her to go to his office. Without any clue, she felt sowhat uneasy.

After class, she headed straight to the principal’s office.

The principal’s office was at the top floor of the teachers’ office building, the door was open. Ji Anning lightened her steps and carefully peered inside.

Spacious and bright, it looked like a small suite, with a sofa and a coffee table.

The desk was by the window, and the principal sat there, his head buried in a pile of docunts.

After a glance, Ji Anning reached out and knocked on the door.

Only then did the principal look up. Seeing Ji Anning, he smiled, "Co in and sit for a while, I’ll be done soon."

As he spoke, he touched his glasses and then bent his head again, continuing to look through the docunts in his hands.

Ji Anning did not speak; she walked in quietly and sat down by the sofa.

The vast office was so quiet it made Ji Anning’s heart race. To ease the pressure, she reached for a financial magazine on the coffee table, flipping through it casually.

"Why didn’t Teacher Ji co with you?"

The principal suddenly stood up and walked over, asking Ji Anning as he approached.

Teacher Ji? Ji Chicheng? Was he also supposed to co?

As Ji Anning was numbly pondering, a familiar male voice suddenly ca from the door, "Principal."

Ji Anning froze.

She felt a tall figure enter, and the light in front of her dimd abruptly. She was wide-eyed, as if under a spell, not daring to turn her head to look toward the door.

Ji Chicheng walked in leisurely, and the principal greeted him with a smile, "Teacher Ji, you’re here."

Ji Chicheng gave him a slight nod, then his gaze shifted to Ji Anning, observing her rigid posture. In the depths of his dark eyes, a flicker of amusent was barely perceptible.

He then strode over.

With his unique presence drawing closer, Ji Anning’s heart sped up with anxiety. She thought about standing up to excuse herself from the principal.

What on earth had the principal called her for? Could it have anything to do with Ji Chicheng?

Ji Chicheng arrived beside Ji Anning and gracefully sat down. Ji Anning felt the spot next to her sink in, and she held her breath.

The principal was by the water dispenser, pouring water for Ji Chicheng, a bit of a distance away.

As Ji Anning considered whether to greet Ji Chicheng, he suddenly leaned in, "When you sent the text ssage, I was in class."

His voice was low, speaking into her ear. The warmth of his breath and the depth of his voice, like an electric current, struck her unexpectedly and nearly bewitched her.

She quickly moved to the other side to create so distance between them, and cautiously glanced at the principal who was making tea at the other side. Then she frowned and whispered a reminder to Ji Chicheng, "Uncle Ji, let’s talk about serious matters."

The more she showed fear, the more Ji Chicheng said, "I had no intention of getting engaged to Yang Danning. However, if you continue to be disobedient, I might get engaged to her. But I would still continue my relationship with you."
