"Not at all," Ji Anning stretched her hand and poked Yang Danning vigorously on the shoulder, a futile attempt to conceal her true feelings.
Imdiately following, she explained, "I’m just tired, extrely tired."
"Tired indeed," Yang Danning empathized with a nod, "Preparing just for the engagent has already worn out, let alone you, who are getting married."
While talking, she walked over to Ji Anning’s bedside, bent over and sat down; after sitting, she stretched languidly, and upon seeing the soft quilt, she simply lay down in relaxation.
She spoke of tiredness, but her tone and smile were brimming with happiness.
Ji Anning felt a pang of discomfort in her heart, both for Yang Danning and for herself.
She placed her hands on her lower abdon, her inner turmoil nearly reaching a breaking point.
"Have you decided on your wedding dress yet?" Suddenly, Yang Danning lifted her head and asked Ji Anning.
Acting like a thief caught red-handed, Ji Anning quickly moved her hands away from her abdon and replied with a laugh, "Almost there, I guess."
Could she still marry Ji Jingfeng?
A woman carrying... or one who had carried his uncle’s child. She dared not imagine what would happen if this bombshell dropped.
Yang Danning lay back down, casually picking up a book from Ji Anning’s bedside, flipping through it while saying, "I’ve ordered my engagent dress, I am going for the fitting tomorrow. Co with ."
Ji Anning refused without a second thought, shaking her head, "I won’t go, I’m dead tired."
Hearing her refusal, Yang Danning put down the book, frowned in dissatisfaction, and complained, "Why are you such a killjoy? You never agree quickly whenever I invite you out."
After her grievance, she pointed directly at Ji Anning and warned, "Ji Anning, if you don’t co with tomorrow, I will never co to find you again, and don’t you ever expect to be your bridesmaid, hmph!"
With an emphatic ’hmph’, she then huffily turned her head away, not looking at Ji Anning.
Ji Anning saw that Yang Danning was genuinely a bit angry, and she bit her lip in distress.
On the other side, Yang Danning stole a glance at her when she didn’t respond.
Seeing her so troubled, she jumped up, "Ji Anning, you are seriously lacking as a friend. I always have to look for you, you never seek out. You moved to the school and didn’t even tell —I had to find you myself. Are you trying to capsize our friendship?"
These complaints made Ji Anning unable to lift her head.
She nodded, "Fine, I’ll accompany you tomorrow."
"So reluctant," Yang Danning frowned, but then changed her tone, "Forget it, that’s just who you are. I won’t hold it against you. I’ll pick you up at noon tomorrow, and we’ll go have lunch together."
Ji Anning curved her lips, squeezing out a smile, "Mhm."
Yang Danning smiled too, she reached out and lightly teased Ji Anning’s chin, "Look at you, acting all ek like a little housewife."
Teasing her with a flirtatious wink, she then retracted her hand and said, "Alright, I have a class in a bit, I need to go."
"Okay."
Ji Anning saw Yang Danning out, watched her walk to the staircase and disappear with a turn, feeling a sense of relief. She leaned against the door fra and took a deep breath.
Her hands involuntarily rested on her abdon again. They were going to try on the dresses tomorrow, and he would surely be there. What was she going to do?
Distressed over this matter, Ji Anning worried throughout the night, and the next morning, slept in late.
But there are always such annoying people who love to disturb one’s peaceful sleep.
Deep in slumber, she was rudely awakened by the persistent knocking at the door. She didn’t want to get up, turned over, and tried to ignore it, but the person knocking evidently didn’t want to leave her be.
