Ji Jingfeng remained silent.
Ji Anning figured she had her answer, her lips curving into a smile, "It’s okay, as long as Grandpa has no objections, I have none either."
Her tone was casual and unrestrained, not at all pretentious.
A look of disgust flickered in Ji Jingfeng’s eyes. He thought that Ji Anning was indifferent because she had soone else outside, even feeling slightly unwilling to accept it. Who was that man anyway, what was so great about him that he had managed to cuckold Ji Jingfeng?
The future mada of J.C, a status many coveted and competed for, and Ji Anning, she truly was a despicable woman.
Luckily, he saw her true colors before they got married.
As Ji Jingfeng thought this, he looked at Ji Anning and seed very sincere as he said, "Grandpa does not agree, but I already feel sorry for you. I can’t continue doing wrong by Bai Guo. She and I have been sneaking around for so many years because I was inept. Now that she’s pregnant, no matter what, I have to keep the child."
Ji Anning ignored the sincerity on Ji Jingfeng’s face and raised an eyebrow, asking him, "So what are you saying now?"
Grandpa doesn’t agree, which actually surprised her. Bai Guo might not co from a wealthy family, but she was from a scholarly family, which was a thousand tis better than her position and, most importantly, she was now carrying the child of the Ji Family, yet Grandpa still disagreed with her joining the Ji Family.
Although she had many doubts, she didn’t show them.
"Anning, I’ve always treated you like a little sister," Ji Jingfeng said, suddenly reaching out and grabbing Ji Anning’s hand. "I haven’t been unfair to you; I hope you can help , speak to Grandpa on my behalf."
He was sowhat agitated, his hands tightly gripping Ji Anning’s.
"Okay!" Ji Anning agreed readily, then forcefully withdrew her hand that Ji Jingfeng was holding.
No matter what the result, she no longer wanted to continue this act with Jingfeng.
Ji Jingfeng smiled happily, "Thank you Anning."
Ji Anning pursed her lips, looking frail. She looked at Ji Jingfeng, who was imrsed in happiness, and said, "I’d like to rest a bit. You can leave now."
"Okay!" Ji Jingfeng nodded, "Then I won’t disturb your rest."
With that, he turned and walked towards the door.
Ji Jingfeng had just taken a few steps when Ji Anning, having thought of sothing, called out, "Jingfeng."
Ji Jingfeng stopped, turned around, and looked at Ji Anning perplexedly, "Anning, is there sothing else?"
Ji Anning glanced at the plate on the nightstand, "Could you please take the food out for ?"
"Aren’t you going to eat?"
Ji Jingfeng casually asked this. Without waiting for Ji Anning’s response, he turned around, picked up the tray, and added thoughtfully, "Rest well. If you get hungry, just call soone to make you sothing."
Then he left the room with the tray.
"Little uncle."
After exiting Ji Anning’s room and closing the door, Ji Jingfeng looked up to see Ji Chicheng coming from the stairway.
He was dressed in a shirt and tie, looking travel-weary.
Ji Jingfeng smiled faintly and greeted him.
Ji Chicheng didn’t respond to Ji Jingfeng; his gaze lingered on the tray in his hands, expressionless.
Thinking he was puzzled, Ji Jingfeng smiled and explained, "Anning’s foot is injured and she can’t move around easily."
"Hmm."
Ji Chicheng finally responded indifferently and continued walking, his footsteps resuming. As Ji Jingfeng approached, the two passed by each other.
