Chapter 1450: Chapter 1451: Adorable Big Tiezhu (5)
"Who I am doesn’t matter. What’s important is that I bear no malice towards the Xuanqing Sect. Otherwise, do you really think you could still be alive with your diocre skills?"
As she spoke, An Yiqing suddenly swung her palm, and a large rock not far away silently crumbled into dust.
Watching the suddenly vanished rock, the man’s eyes first flashed with surprise, then horror, and finally transford into delight. He struggled to turn his head, staring at An Yiqing with eyes that glead like a hungry wolf seeing a fragrant chunk of cured at.
An Yiqing felt goosebumps rise all over from his gaze, quickly releasing her hand and discreetly standing a bit further away from him.
Feeling his hands freed, the man nimbly flipped over and stood up quickly. He took two steps in three and positioned himself beside An Yiqing, staring at her with spirited eyes.
"Umm... miss, no! Heroine! Are you really not going to harm Xuanqing Sect? Can you promise on sothing tasty?"
An Yiqing was bewildered by the man’s absurd question, lightly furrowed her brow, and reached out to touch his wrist, suddenly understanding.
"Hmm, I promise I truly won’t harm Xuanqing Sect, or else I won’t be able to eat anything tasty." An Yiqing raised her hand, solemnly pledging.
The man breathed a sigh of relief, his gaze towards An Yiqing beca much more gentle.
"What’s your na? Why aren’t you asleep at this hour?" An Yiqing looked at the man, feeling that he resembled a naive, clumsy big bear.
"My na is Tiezhu, responsible for chores in the kitchen. It’s too busy during the day, so I sneak out at night to practice martial skills." With that, Tiezhu demonstrated a few moves, laughing "hehe haha."
An Yiqing raised an eyebrow, "Practice martial skills? Is soone teaching you?"
"Nope, do I need soone to teach
this stuff? I learn it just by looking!" Tiezhu was puzzled, scratching the back of his head absentmindedly, not quite comprehending An Yiqing’s aning.
"What book are you reading?" An Yiqing’s mouth twitched, an absurd guess popped into her mind.
"Here, this book." Tiezhu, slightly confused, still bent down to pick up the book he had thrown on the ground.
Looking at the big characters on the cover, An Yiqing’s mouth twitched again; just as she suspected!
By the faint moonlight, three flamboyant characters were printed on Tiezhu’s book—Tai Chi Fist!
This was an extrely ordinary book, with a rough cover and plain paper. Since it was a pirated copy, many words were misprinted. Such Tai Chi manuals were abundant on the streets, mostly used by elderly folks for cultivating health and learning.
"Are you sure you learned your skills from this book?" An Yiqing asked again.
"Yeah, but I’m slow-minded, learning too slowly. I only learned more than ten pages in two months. Those brothers cooking with
always laugh at , saying I’m slow-minded, reading books too slowly. They can finish the book in no ti." Thinking of those brothers working with him, Tiezhu’s eyes showed envy, admiring their ability to quickly finish the book.
An Yiqing watched Tiezhu with amusent, not knowing what to say.
She had figured out that this sowhat silly Tiezhu had a brain issue, likely due to a high fever in childhood affecting his mind, causing a simple-mindedness. In truth, calling him foolish is rather overboard; he’s simply innocent, understanding right from wrong like any normal person.
Previously, An Yiqing thought Tiezhu’s skills might have been learned from a Xuanqing Sect elder or self-taught in secret, but observing his responses led An Yiqing to a bold guess: Tiezhu’s martial skills were completely self-developed.
Indeed, when Tiezhu handed her the Tai Chi manual, An Yiqing confird her speculation. This man seed slow-minded, yet truly a martial arts prodigy. His perceived slow reading was not due to a lack of intelligence, but what he saw was entirely different. Others saw simple illustrations; Tiezhu saw the transformations these illustrations represented, essentially creating his own techniques.
An Yiqing had heard of people like Tiezhu before, but it was her first ti encountering one. She believed her martial arts talent was good, Gu Yelin’s was even better, yet neither could spontaneously create so many moves without advanced techniques, guidance, experience, or Inner Breath.
What Tiezhu achieved, neither she nor Gu Yelin, nor Ye Chenghong and Old Master Gu could accomplish. Truly, so people are born for martial arts.
"Tiezhu, have you ever thought of leaving the kitchen, developing in a more prominent direction?" An Yiqing suddenly asked.
Tiezhu was taken aback, eyes filled with confusion, "How to develop? Beco head chef? That won’t work! The head chef teaching
says I’m slow-minded, accident-prone, might mistake salt for sugar and ruin everything."
Tiezhu’s answer left An Yiqing amused but ward her heart with more affection. Who says he’s foolish? In An Yiqing’s view, Tiezhu lived clearer than anyone. Capability is capability, lacking it ans not overreaching. Only by confronting one’s weaknesses calmly can one soar.
"Tiezhu, what’s your dream?"
"Dream?" Tiezhu furrowed his brow, pondering, "I’m not sure, but ever since I was young I hoped to beco a top-notch expert, like those in TV shows, able to vault roofs and scale walls. Hehe, not sure if this counts as a dream, but I feel I’m close to succeeding."
"Oh? Why do you think so? Can you vault roofs and scale walls?" An Yiqing asked amusingly.
"Not exactly. But I know a lot more now! Yesterday I learned two moves, today another. Gradually learning like this, surely I’ll be able to vault roofs and scale walls soon!"
An Yiqing felt an understated touch in her heart; people are always either busy for fa and fortune or wishing to achieve it in one giant leap. Even when grounded, most hope for a bright future. Everyone strives for their goals but faces discouragent and fatigue. But in Tiezhu’s eyes was pure simplicity, never weary; for him, each move learned was a step towards scaling walls.
"If Xuanqing Sect offers you an opportunity to formally apprentice under a master, thoroughly learn martial skills, but disrupts your peaceful life with tears, bloodshed, perhaps even deaths, would you agree?" An Yiqing felt apprehensive, uncertain whether bringing such a pure-hearted man into tumultuous affairs was right or wrong.
Sensing An Yiqing’s internal hesitation and weight, Tiezhu quietened, showing an unprecedented maturity and contemplation in his eyes.
