Chapter 1153: Chapter 1153: Passing by (1)

And so, Xiao Yu ca to live with the kind Ah Mi and the old granny.

Because Ah Mi was worried that Xiao Yu might have so internal injuries invisible to her, as soon as Xiao Yu could get out of bed and walk, Ah Mi imdiately took her to see Uncle Changqing, the only one on the island skilled in the dical Arts.

In Ah Mi’s mory, Uncle Changqing had always been a very serious middle-aged uncle ever since she could rember, and though she was now twenty-one, Uncle Changqing’s appearance seed to have never changed.

Uncle Changqing’s real na was Li Changqing, and he lived on the other side of the island. He seldom went out, spending most of his ti shut inside his ho, only leaving to collect herbs. And he was a strange man—unless it was an old person about to breathe their last, he would not go out to see any patients, which was why Ah Mi had waited for Xiao Yu to be able to leave the bed before bringing her over.

"Uncle Changqing! Are you ho?"

Pushing open the simple wooden fence, Xiao Yu followed Ah Mi into Uncle Changqing’s house. Li Changqing’s ho was very simple; a courtyard, a single room.

The courtyard was filled with dense dicinal herbs, and as Xiao Yu caught the scent, she paused midstep, uncontrollably drawn to the herbs.

"Xiao Yu, where are you going?"

Xiao Yu didn’t answer Ah Mi, instead, she seed enchanted as she walked straight toward the pile of herbs and reached out to pick out a green stem and leaves.

Right at that mont, an angry roar ca from inside the house.

"Put that down! Who gave you permission to touch my treasures!"

Right after, Ah Mi only felt a gust of wind brush past her, as an angry Li Changqing had already flashed in front of Xiao Yu and made a grab for her wrist without a word.

A chill went through Xiao Yu’s heart; before her mind could react, her body moved on its own. She swiftly parried Li Changqing’s attack and cleverly sidestepped to avoid his body.

Li Changqing didn’t expect such a delicate girl to dodge his moves and raised his eyebrows in surprise, intensifying his attacks.

Feeling the combativeness emanating from Li Changqing, Xiao Yu’s expression remained unchanged, elegantly deflecting all his moves.

Ah Mi looked on, dumbfounded, watching the dust rise as the two figures sparred, taking a while to snap back to reality.

"Oh no! Uncle Changqing, Xiao Yu is injured! Stop fighting!"

She stomped her foot with force and ran forward to intervene. But Li Changqing, engrossed in his sparring, failed to rein in a palm strike, nearly hitting Ah Mi. If not for Xiao Yu’s tily reaction, tossing Ah Mi onto the herb pile, she would have certainly been hurt.

Li Changqing, with his heart in his throat, heaved a sigh of relief and glanced at Xiao Yu gratefully. If not for this girl’s quick actions, Ah Mi’s grandmother would surely have skinned him alive!

"Are you alright?"

As Ah Mi ca to her senses, she saw Xiao Yu’s outstretched hand, lay on top of the herb pile with a wide grin, grabbed Xiao Yu’s hand, and sprang up nimbly.

"Ah Mi, I lost control just now, I’m sorry."

Ah Mi shook her head nonchalantly: "What are you talking about, Uncle Changqing? As you see, I’m perfectly fine! I brought Xiao Yu here today to have her injuries checked!"

Li Changqing looked at Xiao Yu in astonishnt, scrutinizing her from head to toe with a physician’s professional gaze, then frowned.

"You have suffered very serious internal injuries?"

Xiao Yu shook her head, "I don’t know. I’ve lost my mory, and I’m blind."

"Blind? How did that happen?" Li Changqing exclaid incredulously. This girl was blind yet could spar with him on equal footing?

Uncertainly waving his hand in front of Xiao Yu’s eyes, Li Changqing had to accept Xiao Yu’s words as truth.
