Aunt Zhang saw the little girl’s anxious look and smiled reassuringly, "Co upstairs with first. It’s so late, aren’t you tired?"
"I’m okay!" An Yin replied tactfully.
Aunt Zhang walked ahead, crossing the back hall and climbing the spiral staircase to reach the upper floor.
An Yin did not dare to look around the entire ti. The carpet under her feet was finely laid out, making no sound when walked on, and felt sowhat like a soft mattress.
In fact, upon entering the hall, An Yin was aware of where she was.
The last ti she ca to clean Bao Shaojin’s cushion, she was here. Thinking about how she failed to clean it thoroughly and ended up making a ss of his back garden, An Yin couldn’t help but feel guilty.
Why did it seem like ever since she t this man, she kept causing trouble for him?
She really felt like a failure, especially in front of Bao Shaojin.
The more she thought about it, the gloomier An Yin’s mood beca. Coupled with her heavy heart, she didn’t notice the stairs until she felt herself stepping into thin air, and she exclaid "Ah..."
Aunt Zhang only heard the little girl’s cry from behind, and her heart skipped a beat. Turning around, she saw the girl’s slender body curled up like a large balloon, bouncing between the railings until she rolled down to the first floor.
Aunt Zhang had never experienced anything as thrilling as this her entire life!
Earlier she thought it was too quiet living here, but now with this incident, she wished she could slap herself a few tis!
"Quickly, quickly notify the master." Aunt Zhang shouted to the attendant downstairs, and hurriedly ran down to check the little girl’s injuries.
Though Aunt Zhang was old and had been through much, it was all in the past. Faced with such an unexpected event now, it was natural to feel flustered.
By the ti she reached the little girl’s side, her legs were already a bit weak. Leaning against the wall, Aunt Zhang watched the girl lying motionless on the floor, her heart racing, "An... Miss An..."
Aunt Zhang called out with a trembling voice.
The girl on the ground showed no response.
Before Aunt Zhang could react, a haughty figure suddenly appeared before her.
Bao Shaojin squatted down, face extrely gloomy, "An Yin... An Yin... An..."
"Mmm..." The previously motionless An Yin suddenly whimpered, weakly saying, "So hungry, hungry..." In reality, An Yin was indeed starving. She hadn’t eaten dinner when Jiang Keke dragged her out of school, and she didn’t have ti to eat at Bao Shaojin’s birthday party. Now she felt dizzy, her mind empty, with only an intense hunger filling her stomach.
Bao Shaojin, "..."
Aunt Zhang, "..."
At this ti, the little girl suddenly said, "So hungry."
"Hungry..."
An Yin’s bright eyes slightly squinted, her long lashes fluttering, making her appear very weak.
"Don’t sleep, when you’re better, I’ll take you to eat sothing delicious." Bao Shaojin’s hands were tightly clenched into fists, and there was a turbulent energy in his dark pupils.
"Now, eat..." Before An Yin could finish, a few dical personnel rushed in from outside, led by an elderly doctor.
"Elder Fu!" Bao Shaojin greeted the old doctor.
anwhile, the dical staff examined An Yin’s injuries while placing her on a stretcher.
Aunt Zhang stood aside, quickly recounting to Bao Shaojin the cause of the little girl’s injuries, his eyes deep and obscure after hearing her story.
"Called here in the middle of the night just for this little girl." If the girl didn’t look so dazed, Elder Fu might have scolded Bao Shaojin a bit.
Soon, An Yin was taken onto an ambulance, Bao Shaojin also boarded along with her.
Hospital.
Three o’clock in the morning.
Bao Shaojin leaned against the wall, having taken off his straight suit jacket, holding it by his wrist, wearing only a shirt underneath. The shirt was impeccably pressed, highlighting his sharp fra.
At this mont, he was the only figure in the long corridor, seemingly filled with a sense of desolation from afar.
His hand brushed over his suit jacket, realizing sothing, his movents stalled, and any thought of smoking was thrown out of his mind.
The little girl really gave him an unforgettable birthday!
When the door to the examination room was pushed open, Bao Shaojin strode forward.
Elder Fu was walking in front, his sharp eyes looking at the man before him. He didn’t rush to speak, instead waiting with an inscrutable expression for the man to initiate the conversation.
Elder Fu was a sly old fox, and Bao Shaojin said bluntly, "She’s Bao Cheng’s girlfriend!"
This straightforward remark cut off Elder Fu’s assumptions.
In fact, from Elder Fu’s expression, Bao Shaojin could tell that the girl was most likely fine.
"Since she’s Bao Cheng’s girlfriend, what’s your business here?" Elder Fu ca up to him, patting Bao Shaojin on the shoulder with a deep look, continuing, "I don’t care about the relationship between you two. The girl just has a mild concussion and a bit of bruising, but nothing serious."
After Elder Fu finished speaking, he stepped past Bao Shaojin, intending to leave.
"Thank you!" As Elder Fu passed by, Bao Shaojin spoke.
"Ah Jin, with you two brothers, one causing enough worry to nearly give your grandmother a stroke, don’t you go doing anything foolish!" Elder Fu’s steps paused before speaking these words, then leaving with the group of doctors behind him.
In the distance, inside the exam room, An Yin was being wheeled out by a nurse.
Bao Shaojin’s expression subtly changed due to Elder Fu’s words, but as he saw the little girl’s pale face, his heart surged with waves of emotion.
VIP hospital ward.
An Yin had regained consciousness, lying quietly on the hospital bed with an IV drip in her hand.
Her clear eyes blinked, recalling everything that had just happened—it felt like a dream! An Yin didn’t want to wake up.
Who knew climbing the stairs could lead to such an accident? Thinking back to those monts rolling down the stairs, An Yin felt a lingering fear.
Right now, her entire body still ached subtly.
"You’re awake." Bao Shaojin ca to the bedside, his tall figure looming over her.
An Yin hadn’t noticed anyone else in the room. When the familiar voice reached her ears, the man approached her side, and An Yin remained silent, her eyes glancing towards him.
As she looked, her eyes gradually filled with tears, and the next mont, uncontrollable tears stread down her face, quickly staining the white pillow.
"Brother Shaojin." An Yin called out with a choking voice.
The little girl tried hard not to cry but couldn’t help it, even beginning to hiccup.
"The doctor said you have a mild concussion now. If you keep crying and your emotions get agitated, your brain might be stimulated, and you could turn into a fool." Bao Shaojin intentionally scared her.
An Yin was quite frightened by this, imdiately stopping her weeping. She was already not too clever, what would she do if she beca more foolish?
The tear stains on her face were too glaring, so Bao Shaojin took a tissue from the side, bending slightly, gently wiping her delicate face with it.
As he leaned in closer, the unique scent belonging to the man suddenly overwheld An Yin, a hint of sandalwood filling the air.
