Assistant Lin finished speaking and ca to An Yin, "Let’s go first."
An Yin was in a daze, "But, she..."
"Don’t worry, Su Jin will handle it well," Assistant Lin said with a determined look.
"Alright."
Assistant Lin made a gesture of "please," and An Yin and Shi Qing walked towards the ward’s door one after the other, with Assistant Lin following behind.
Madam Liu looked as they left, as if struck by lightning, sitting there dumbfounded, shouting at their departing figures, "Don’t go, don’t go..."
However, no matter how loudly Madam Liu shouted, Su Jin just stood aside, observing coldly. Talking to an unreasonable woman was purely a waste of ti, so he decided to wait for Mr. Liu to co over for a detailed discussion.
In the hospital corridor.
Assistant Lin stopped and looked at the young girl in front of him, explaining, "Mr. Bao had to rush abroad early this morning to handle sothing, so he couldn’t co in person."
An Yin’s face instantly flushed, "Mm." Although she wanted to ask what Bao Shaojin was handling abroad, she realized she had no standing to ask, so she kept her thoughts to herself.
"Let’s wait downstairs for a while," Assistant Lin glanced at his watch and continued, "This matter should be resolved within ten minutes."
"So soon?" An Yin couldn’t believe it, but since these words ca from Assistant Lin, who was known for being ticulous and didn’t joke around, she assud it must be true.
"Mm."
Shi Qing stood quietly beside An Yin, listening to their conversation. While she didn’t doubt the man’s ability, she was surprised by the Bao Family’s speed in handling matters. Then, as if sothing crossed her mind, a hint of distress flashed across her cold face.
The three took the elevator to the front parking lot, where Assistant Lin instructed them to wait in the car for results.
An Yin got into the car nervously.
After leaving the ward, Shi Qing remained silent the entire ti, her eyes under the glasses flickering slightly, making it hard to guess what she was thinking.
Assistant Lin sat in the driver’s seat, his fingers tapping the steering wheel lightly. As ti ticked by, he seed to sense sothing and looked toward the hospital entrance. The next second, he saw Su Jin walking towards them with a briefcase.
An Yin noticed too and quickly straightened her posture.
Su Jin opened the passenger door, and after getting in, his eyes were filled with a certain charisma. He smoothly took a paper bag out of his bag, then turned to the back seat, "Miss An, the dical expenses you advanced earlier are all in here. Madam Liu also said she wrongly accused you and has offered so compensation as a gesture of sincerity. Please take it."
Su Jin handed over the paper bag, his long arm extending as he looked at An Yin with an indifferent gaze.
An Yin didn’t expect that the other party would return her money. Earlier, the woman had seed so aggressive, yet suddenly she’d compromised. An Yin’s eyes rounded as she glanced at the man a few tis, "I... is she... is she okay now?" An Yin didn’t take the money imdiately but asked with lingering fear.
"Mr. Liu has taken her ho, and Madam Liu has confessed everything honestly. She was pretending to be ill," Su Jin, with fair skin and tightly pressed thin lips, looked like a stern ascetic when silent, giving off an impression of being aloof and hard to approach.
After hearing his words, the guilt in An Yin’s heart instantly vanished. She took the paper bag, counted the money, left the amount she had advanced, and repacked the rest back into the paper bag.
"This is the dical expense I paid earlier. As for hers, please give it back to her."
Seeing the girl’s determined look, Su Jin didn’t persuade further and took it back, "Alright."
"Thank you!"
"You’re welco."
Seeing that the matter was resolved, Assistant Lin spoke up, "Miss An, where would you like to go now? I’ll take you."
"No need." An Yin quickly declined.
Assistant Lin watched her eagerly push open the car door and get out, his heart in his mouth, afraid she’d bump or hurt herself. Only when their figures grew distant and disappeared into the crowd did he withdraw his gaze.
Su Jin glanced at Assistant Lin, "Since the matter is resolved, please take a mont to report to Mr. Bao."
"Okay." While responding, Assistant Lin saw the other quickly get out of the car.
Out of the corner of his eye, Assistant Lin noticed a Cayenne parked beside him, and the next second he saw Su Jin open the passenger door. Through the open door, sharp-eyed Assistant Lin saw a woman reclining in the passenger seat. When he looked closely, the car door was already shut tight.
Hiss...
No wonder he asked to report to Mr. Bao. Turns out the man is in a hurry for a date!
Over the years, Assistant Lin had worked with him quite a bit, and found that he didn’t seem very sensitive around won, almost wooden, so Assistant Lin couldn’t imagine what Lawyer Su would be like in a relationship.
Assistant Lin drove away first.
Inside the adjacent car.
Su Jin’s face was livid, and he’d already tossed his briefcase onto the back seat. He turned his head, looking at the disheveled woman.
The woman deliberately covered half her face with stray hair, raising her eyes leisurely. Seeing the man’s nacing appearance, she cautiously reached out, tugging at his sleeve, "Don’t be angry."
Su Jin raised his hand, and the woman shrank back in fear, imdiately realizing he wouldn’t hit her, so she sheepishly lowered her head.
This subconscious action increased Su Jin’s frustration. From her movent, it was obvious she’d beco used to being hit, hence her fear of his approach.
Su Jin put his hand beside her cheek, tucking strands of her hair behind her ear. Soon, several obvious slap marks appeared on her right cheek.
The woman’s skin was fair, and when she looked at the man, her eyes contained a trace of vague dependence, "I’m fine, it doesn’t hurt!" she softly reassured him.
"What did she say?" Su Jin withdrew his hand, moving his gaze away from her swollen face, though the bulging veins on his hand betrayed his emotions.
"Aunt Su told to leave." The woman lowered her gaze.
In fact, the other had said many harsh words, but she didn’t want to worry the man, especially since it was his own mother.
"How did you respond?" Su Jin asked coldly.
"Unless you don’t want , I will never leave your side." The woman blinked her misty eyes, her delicate face exhibiting unprecedented resilience.
Su Jin t her gaze, seeing her battered appearance, and a wave of heartache surged within him.
After a long ti, he uttered three words, "Silly woman."
Upon hearing this, the woman bravely hugged the man’s arm, pressing her face to his shoulder, "I’m willing!"
