After An Yin ca out of the milk tea shop at the school gate, she rembered the old man she t earlier while dining at "Ying Ying Yi Shui Jian". He had given her so pastries for no reason, and at that ti, she had kept his phone number.

An Yin recalled the old man’s words. He said he was lonely and without family, so she thought he must be a solitary elder.

She didn’t want to owe him a favor.

So she took out her phone, hesitated for a mont, and then made a call.

After two rings, the call was connected.

The two exchanged a few polite words; it was clear the old man didn’t recognize her voice until An Yin described their encounter at "Ying Ying Yi Shui Jian", which enlightened him.

"So it was you!" The old man exclaid happily.

Afterwards, An Yin explained the purpose of her call. To thank the old man for the pastries he had given her, she planned to buy sothing and visit him in return.

Uncle Ma initially wanted to refuse, but hearing the sincerity in the young lady’s voice filled him with joy. He agreed and gave her an address.

After hanging up, An Yin imdiately looked for a fruit store and bought so apples, bananas, and grapes, spending over a hundred yuan.

Carrying the items, she went to catch the bus.

The address the old man gave was in "Jianjia Alley", a route An Yin was already familiar with.

In the bright sunny weather, walking on the road felt slightly stuffy.

Passing students had already started wearing short sleeves and skirts, but An Yin always wore long-sleeve sportswear with those few pairs of jeans on the bottom.

As for the clothes from Bao Shaojin’s house, she would bury them at the bottom of the drawer after every wear.

On the bus.

An Yin, carrying several bags, sat in the back seat.

Whenever it was the weekend, the bus was packed with people, and An Yin turned her head to the car window while placing the fruits on top of her feet.

After a few stops, An Yin finally arrived at Jianjia Station.

Getting off, she carried her things towards the entrance of the alley and saw the bent figure of the old man standing there from afar.

"Hello, Grandpa!" An Yin greeted with a serene smile while holding her items.

Upon seeing the young girl again, Uncle Ma couldn’t help but be moved and took a few more glances. "Girl, thankfully you still rember this useless old man!" In his life, Uncle Ma had seen many people, and quite a few who owed him, but they would only verbalize their thanks. In contrast, the kindness of the young girl in front of him was genuinely touching.

For such a small favor, the young lady had kept it in her heart, which made Uncle Ma feel a twinge of sorrow.

As a lonely old man, it had been a long ti since he felt the warmth of being rembered.

Hearing the old man’s words, An Yin, carrying her things, shyly smiled, "I bought you so fruits."

Seeing both her hands were full, Uncle Ma noticed a light sweat on the young girl’s forehead and assud the items were indeed heavy, "It’s already nice of you to visit , how can I let you spend money?"

"Grandpa, please accept them." An Yin handed the items over to Uncle Ma.

"You girl!" Seeing her sincerity, Uncle Ma couldn’t refuse any longer and accepted with guilt, "Thank you."

"No problem," An Yin replied softly.

At the busy street entrance, Uncle Ma felt quite embarrassed.

Earlier, during the call, Uncle Ma had given the address at the entrance of "Jianjia Alley", using the excuse that his place was too ssy for visitors, suggesting they et outside instead.

Standing on the noisy street now, holding the fruits the young girl gave him, Uncle Ma felt remorseful; he didn’t dare to reveal the address of "An Residence" for fear of troubling Mr. ng, after all, the residence was currently hosting Mr. ng’s guests.

"Have you been around here before?" Uncle Ma pointed to the alley behind him.

"I’ve been here with my friends," An Yin answered honestly.

The two chatted for a while at the entrance of the alley, and Uncle Ma ntioned so of his affairs while An Yin quietly listened beside him.

It had been a long ti since Uncle Ma had such an open conversation. In the residence, Mr. ng was always gloomy and particularly averse to noise, so over ti, the entire residence was mostly silent, with each person busy with their tasks.

As they chatted, ti flew by.

After they both introduced themselves, Uncle Ma was montarily startled upon hearing her surna "An", but he thought nothing of it as there were too many people with the surna "An" in this world.

As lunchti approached, An Yin didn’t want to delay the old man’s al, so she bid him farewell.

Uncle Ma, carrying the items, walked deeper into the alley but felt warm at heart.

However, An Yin stood at the entrance of the alley with no intention of leaving yet.

Watching the old man walk away, she looked up at the plaque at the alley entrance, always wanting to take a few more glances at those flamboyant characters.

Perhaps from drinking a cup of milk tea earlier, An Yin felt a sweet stickiness in her mouth. She looked around and saw a chain store on the street, went in, and bought a bottle of water.

After coming out, she stood on the street corner, unscrewed the cap, and just as she was about to take a sip, soone brushed against her elbow.

Her hand shook, causing the bottle to tilt to one side.

"Ah..."

The woman’s startled cry echoed instantly.

An Yin turned her head in fear, eting an angry gaze.

"Are you blind? Didn’t you see soone beside you?" Wu Yan, arm in arm with a friend, inexplicably got splashed with water. Seeing her soaked arm initially didn’t make her angry, but when she saw the bag on her wrist was wet too, she couldn’t remain calm.

"S-Sorry." An Yin, too flustered to place bla, apologized sincerely when she saw the other person glaring.

As their eyes t, both had expressions of surprise on their faces.

It’s her?

It’s her?

The sa thought crossed both their minds simultaneously.

An Yin averted her gaze, feeling guilty as the other person stared at her intently.

If An Yin rembered correctly, this was Gu Qingyun’s ex-girlfriend. Recalling their first eting, when soup splashed with chili water into her eyes—though an accident—it had led to An Yin staying in the hospital for a few days.

"Hmph, it’s you." Wu Yan’s lips curled into a mocking smile, and as she spoke, she shook her handbag with water on the surface.

The water splashed onto An Yin’s chest and face.

It was obvious she did it on purpose.

The girl standing next to Wu Yan saw this and reached out to tug at Wu Yan’s clothes, trying to persuade her friend to stop.

Wu Yan pretended not to see.

An Yin raised her hand holding the bottle cap and wiped off the water on her face.

Seeing the other party silent and enduring as she spritzed water onto her, Wu Yan was still not satisfied.
