An Yin ca out of the bathroom after showering. She was in such a hurry to leave that she didn’t bring a change of clothes, so she had to wear the sa ones.

Her hair was still a bit damp after a quick blow-dry in the bathroom.

Seeing this, An Ying couldn’t help but nag, "Dry it completely before coming out."

An Yin heard An Ying’s stern tone and responded with an "Oh," turning back to blow-dry her hair once more. By the ti she ca out, it was mostly dry.

Both leaned back against the headboard, lying in bed.

An Yin’s gaze wandered over An Ying’s hands and feet, "Does your leg still hurt when you walk?"

"It hasn’t hurt for a long ti." An Ying smiled, comforting her daughter.

An Yin thought of An Ying’s walking posture and asked gloomily, "Did the doctor say how long it will take for a full recovery?"

An Ying understood her daughter was referring to her walking condition. After glancing to the side, An Ying said calmly, "These things can’t be rushed; we should just let nature take its course."

An Ying’s voice, when speaking, was like a gentle stream, giving off a tranquil and peaceful feeling.

"Mom, I love you. Please don’t get hurt again, okay?" An Yin carefully snuggled into An Ying’s embrace, making sure not to press against her injured hand.

As she spoke, An Yin’s voice was sowhat choked, for to An Yin, An Ying was her spiritual support.

An Ying felt a bittersweet sensation in her heart, suppressing it to softly say, "Okay."

Outside the car window, lights illuminated half the sky, and the vibrant young people, appearing especially exuberant at night, gathered in groups to have fun.

The weather had been very peculiar lately. It could be sunny during the day, but covered in clouds by night, as if a torrential downpour could happen at any mont.

The air was filled with the scent of earth, urging people’s footsteps to quicken.

The city at night seed veiled in mystery. Neon lights brightened the streets and alleyways, making the buildings exude an unprecedented vitality in the dark. The towering skyscrapers looked mighty and imposing against the night sky, and the streetlights painted the outline of the city, turning this modern tropolis into a scroll of neon art.

An Ying lay in bed, watching her daughter slip into a deep slumber beside her, she slowly moved her body, put on her shoes, and walked heavily to the window sill. After opening a small crack, she looked out at the night view, feeling indescribably lancholy.

As she was lost in thought, a faint murmur interrupted her reverie.

An Ying turned her head and looked over to the bed at her daughter by the dim yellow light of the bedside lamp.

"Ugh... it hurts..."

Broken sounds ca intermittently from An Yin’s mouth.

An Ying staggered to the bedside.

"Mom... my stomach hurts..."

An Yin’s voice grew increasingly clearer.

An Ying quickly turned on the light and soon saw her daughter covered in sweat, her brows tightly knitted, clearly showing that An Yin was in extre discomfort.

An Ying lifted the quilt and saw An Yin clutching her stomach with both hands, her legs curled up. The pain was so intense she spoke in a weak, feeble tone.

"It hurts... Mom... my stomach..."

As she muttered, An Yin didn’t even open her eyes, and her breathing beca rapid.

An Ying soon noticed the bright red stain on the sheet near her daughter’s waist... Instantly, An Ying felt her heart tighten, the room spinning as she trembled, supporting herself with the bed.

"Yinyin, Yinyin, wake up..." An Ying reached out and tugged her daughter’s arm, seeing her drenched in sweat, constantly murmuring in pain, her body beginning to tremble.

Seeing the bloodstain on the sheet, she only felt the thunderous roar in her mind.

"Yinyin..." An Ying’s oval face was now pale. After calling desperately a few tis without any response from her daughter, she took a step to fetch the phone. Perhaps too startled, as she stepped out, her foot gave way, and she fell to the ground.

However, realizing the ergency her daughter faced, An Ying didn’t dare delay a mont. She crawled step by step to the TV cabinet, pulled out her phone from her bag to call for an ambulance, and after incoherently describing their location and An Yin’s condition, she scrambled back to the bed.

"Yinyin." An Ying gently caressed her daughter’s colorless cheeks.

Lying in bed, An Yin clutched her stomach tightly, waves of cramping pain making her incredibly weak. All she could do was cry out in pain, unable to say anything more.

Until a series of soft words reached her ears, seemingly her mother’s voice. It was only then that she slowly opened her eyes, but before she could see clearly, the piercing pain in her stomach led her back into unconsciousness.

Until she was completely senseless and collapsed on the bed.

That night, for An Ying, was like a heart-stopping battlefield.

In the early morning, the hospital was sparsely populated.

When An Yin was wheeled into ergency, a slightly disheveled An Ying followed closely behind, standing guard outside the door. Already physically exhausted, she leaned against the wall, her stunning face still marked with tears, evoking a pitiable sense of radiant allure as passing nurses couldn’t help but repeatedly glance back at her.

After all, truly beautiful won like this are rare! When one ets them, who wouldn’t want to take a good look?

But, witnessing her weary appearance, a passing nurse, unable to bear the nagging of her conscience anymore, approached slowly, "There’s a chair over here, why don’t you sit down and rest for a bit."

An Ying numbly lifted her head, eting the nurse’s sincere gaze. Her voice carried a hint of weakness, "Thank you."

As soon as she spoke, her legs gave way, and she collapsed onto the floor, dazed.

The nurse, seeing this, quickly stepped forward to support her, "Wake up, wake up?" Just as she was about to call for a colleague, she found her arm being held.

"I... I’m fine." An Ying mustered all her strength to say, her spirit appearing very fragile.

"Give your family’s phone number, I’ll help notify your family to co." Seeing the strong will in the frail beauty before her, the nurse couldn’t bear it and kindly suggested.

"1..." In a daze, An Ying blurted out a string of numbers.

After inputting it, the nurse dialed the number.

The phone rang a few tis before it was answered.

"Hello?" A deep, magnetic male voice ca through, and upon hearing it, the nurse felt like a current swept through her, causing her to shiver.

The voice carried an indescribable charm.

Composing herself, the nurse gently spoke, "Hello, I’m sorry for disturbing you so late. Do you know..." She paused, glanced at the beautiful woman beside her, and whispered, "What’s your na? I’m helping you get in touch with your family."

Fallen on the cold floor, An Ying felt the piercing chill spread through her. The nurse’s words brought her back to clarity montarily, and An Ying instinctively replied, "An Ying."
