Finally, An Ying hid next to a small pavilion beside the square. Inside the pavilion were so shops, and there weren’t many passersby.

An Ying stood in the corner, just able to see the entrance of "Across a Stream of Fragrance".

She shrank into the corner. Occasionally, a breeze brushed past. Even though the weather wasn’t exactly cold, she still shivered, her arms feeling icy.

At the entrance of "Across a Stream of Fragrance", there was a large parking lot. The people getting out of cars were either rich or noble, always accompanied by attendants.

Lunchti had already passed, and people trickled out one after another.

For so reason, An Ying felt her heart pounding fiercely. She raised her hand to her chest, and when she looked up again, she saw a tall figure erging from the distant doorway.

The man’s build was straight and well-proportioned, his upright features exuding an undeniable sense of righteousness.

Even though there was a distance between them, An Ying could clearly see the man’s pitch-black eyes beneath his sword-like, uplifted brows, giving off a cold and haunting light.

Most of the ti, the man looked serious. His face had deep and defined contours, possessing a rugged handsoness, as if carved out by knife and axe. In their youth, her fingertips had road his face more than once.

Back then, she always joked about wanting to peel off his silent exterior, and he always let her be, no matter how much she fussed, the man always held an attitude of indulgence.

The past, like clouds of smoke, had been blown away without a trace, yet here she was, still imrsed in it.

An Ying blinked, and when her vision cleared, she saw soone helping him open the car door to the backseat. Soon after, the man bent down and got inside.

An Ying wiped away the tears at the corners of her eyes, the emotions she had suppressed for so long now teetering on the brink of collapse.

"Boo hoo..." She lowered her head, trembling as she covered her mouth, not daring to cry out loud.

Inside the parking lot.

Uncle Ma sat in the front passenger seat, silently looking at the person in the back seat. He probed, "Sir, are we heading back to the ’An Residence’?"

ng Heming didn’t respond, turning his head to look at the bustling crowd outside the car window. His heart clenched with a mysterious pain, as if he had missed sothing.

The driver gripped the steering wheel tightly, not daring to make a sound without receiving instructions.

"I always feel..." ng Heming spoke softly, but paused after a few words.

These words seed to be spoken into the air.

Uncle Ma saw his gloomy deanor and knew who he was thinking of. To divert his attention, Uncle Ma pretended to be surprised, "Sir, I saw a young girl yesterday and discovered sothing quite interesting."

"Where did you see her?" ng Heming’s eyebrows moved slightly.

Uncle Ma was taken aback, then answered, "In the shop."

"Are you trying to say that young girl resembles Ying’er a lot?" ng Heming looked calmly out the window, his tone deep.

"You— you know?" Uncle Ma looked at him incredulously.

"I ran into her too." ng Heming’s gaze grew softer. The thin figure of the young girl bore so resemblance to Ying’er. Every ti he saw the young girl, his once dormant heart would surge as if Ying’er had appeared before him.

ng Heming could only interpret this inexplicable surge as being due to the young girl’s eyebrows and eyes looking too much like Yinger’s, bringing him a strong sense of palpitations.

Uncle Ma didn’t expect Mr. ng to have encountered her too and sighed, "It’s really similar." If Mr. ng had been with Miss An, the child they might have had would probably be as stunning and beautiful, with eyes like Miss An’s and a nose like Mr. ng’s...

Thinking about it, Uncle Ma shook his head wistfully. His thoughts were unrealistic; after all, Miss An was nowhere to be found, so how could she possibly have a child with Mr. ng?

"It really is quite similar."

Uncle Ma thought Mr. ng wouldn’t respond, but after a long pause, a cool voice ca from the back seat.

ng Heming recalled the few etings where the young girl wore a mask, wondering what she might look like without it. However, with eyebrows sowhat reminiscent of Yinger’s, he thought her appearance couldn’t be too far off.

"Let’s go, back to the residence." ng Heming leaned back against the soft seat, closing his eyes wearily.

"Yes, Mr. ng," the driver respectfully replied.

Soon, the car was driving along the road.

Uncle Ma knew in his heart that Mr. ng was only pretending to sleep. Over the years, Mr. ng couldn’t sleep peacefully without the aid of sleeping pills.

Inside the car, Uncle Ma turned his head to look at the back seat, hesitant to speak.

"If there’s sothing, say it." Though ng Heming had his eyes closed, he could see through Uncle Ma’s thoughts.

Uncle Ma’s body tensed as he thought about how to phrase it, hesitating, "Sir, soone from the young master’s side called this morning."

Seeing him still with his eyes closed, Uncle Ma continued, "The young master’s mother is ill." To avoid upsetting Mr. ng, Uncle Ma avoided ntioning Xu Ming, even not daring to use her na.

"Didn’t I say before that matters of the Xu Family are no longer my concern?" ng Heming suddenly opened his cold eyes, revealing a chilling intensity.

"I was thoughtless," Uncle Ma apologized, bowing deeply.

ng Heming’s sharp gaze shifted out the car window, the depths of his eyes filled with a heavy and persistent gloom.

Having endured a lifeti of unrequited love, he wasn’t sure how much ti he had left. His obsession grew deeper, always hoping that within his lifeti he could see the one he loved just once.

Was she living well?

Had she married and had children?

Was she...

Over the years, he had envisioned everything An Ying might go through, but he didn’t dare consider the scene of their reunion.

At this mont, the air inside the car felt thin. His breathing quickened, and he reached out to lower the window. A gust of cold wind blew against his face, and the intense light outside made it hard to open his eyes, but his breathing beca much smoother.

Seeing his actions, Uncle Ma initially thought to say one more thing for his health’s sake. However, seeing Mr. ng’s solemn and woeful expression, Uncle Ma chose to remain silent.

Certain matters, if the person involved can’t sort it out, no amount of others’ persuasion will help! Mr. ng was like that.

As a tycoon in the business world, it was hard to believe Mr. ng had no woman by his side to care for him. Yet this was reality. Uncle Ma turned away, gazing blankly at the road ahead. Lately, Mr. ng had been exceptionally lancholy. At this rate, both body and mind would suffer. He needed to find a way to cheer up Mr. ng.

Uncle Ma suddenly thought of soone: Miss Shen!

Every ti Mr. ng saw Miss Shen, his mood seed to lighten. Once back at the An Residence, Uncle Ma thought he might boldly give Miss Shen a call, thinking to himself.
