"Mm, good girl!" Uncle Ma nodded in satisfaction.

The girl in front of him seed quite unruly, despite their brief conversation, it was clear she had a timid nature.

An Yin looked at the items in her hand, feeling quite uneasy. Her eyes sparkled as she looked at him, "Could you leave a phone number?"

Uncle Ma frowned deeply, a hint of hesitation crossing his mind.

Having been by Mr. ng’s side, Uncle Ma was accustod to being cautious, after all, if anyone wanted to find out about Mr. ng, they could only do so through those around him.

As soone who had been around Mr. ng for years, Uncle Ma beca one of the people others wanted to cozy up to.

However, Uncle Ma had a very peculiar nature; he faced any gesture of goodwill with a cold face, rejecting it. Over ti, everyone knew Uncle Ma was tight-lipped, making it impossible to get any information about Mr. ng from him.

Now, the girl looked at him with innocent and naive eyes, and though Uncle Ma rarely gave out his phone number, his heart softened, and he recited his number.

An Yin listened to the long string of numbers, feeling overwheld, quickly saying, "Sorry, I didn’t bring my phone. Could you wait a mont while I borrow a pen from a waiter?"

Next, Uncle Ma watched the girl hurriedly leave, and when she stood before him again, panting, she was holding a pen, "Could you repeat it once more?"

Normally, Uncle Ma would have turned and left; to him, Mr. ng was the priority, and everything else wasn’t worth considering.

Ultimately, Uncle Ma repeated his phone number.

An Yin wrote it on the back of her hand with the pen.

"Done." Once she finished, An Yin blinked her big eyes which glead with joy as if the phone number ant the world to her.

"Girl, why do you need my number?" Uncle Ma asked purely out of curiosity.

An Yin fluttered her long lashes, her lively eyes shining, and smiled sweetly, "As a keepsake."

Hearing the girl’s teasing words, Uncle Ma didn’t take them to heart.

Actually, the reason An Yin wanted his number was because the elder’s earlier words about being "lonely and helpless" touched her heart.

She wanted to keep his number to perhaps bring so fruit and visit the elder soday, even though her idea was reckless. But seeing the elder’s sorrowful face made her feel a pang of compassion.

It was as if the elder was her long-lost relative! She didn’t understand why she felt that way.

"By the way, I haven’t asked, what’s your na?" Uncle Ma looked at the girl’s face and couldn’t help but get distracted, so he asked her na.

"My na is..."

An Yin had barely said two words when her shoulder was pulled, and she found herself crashing into a man’s strong chest.

Bao Shaojin stood tall beside An Yin, with the girl tightly encircled in his arms, unable to move.

Uncle Ma was surprised by the man’s sudden appearance, but quickly recognized him and addressed him, "Mr. Bao!"

Uncle Ma’s tone was indifferent, noticing the girl struggling within his arms. His expression grew serious, even his eyebrows showing so discontent.

"Bao Shaojin..." An Yin looked up, stunned, eting his eyes, clearly not expecting him to co looking for her.

Bao Shaojin ignored the girl in his arms, his cold face looking directly at Uncle Ma, "Hello!"

The ng Family and Bao Family rarely interacted, but for the old servant by ng Heming’s side, the outside world showed so respect.

"No need to be so formal, Mr. Bao." Uncle Ma nodded and glanced at the girl in his arms, noting her anxious expression. He couldn’t help but add, "The girl is quite delicate, Mr. Bao, you should be gentle with her!"

"Thank you for the reminder." Bao Shaojin’s gaze was dark as he replied.

Seeing the situation before him seed a bit off, Uncle Ma gave the girl a side glance before walking away leisurely.

Once Uncle Ma left, Bao Shaojin lowered his gaze, eting the girl’s pure and bright eyes.

"I thought you had gotten lost." Bao Shaojin suddenly said.

At the mont, his cool hand rested on her slender shoulder, and her petite fra was enveloped by his strong body. To an outsider, she seed nestled in his embrace.

"I’m not silly, how could I get lost?" An Yin took advantage of his distraction to quietly shift, trying to break free from his grasp.

Bao Shaojin could clearly see her little ploy, twisting her around with force, making her face him, "You think you’re smart? Do you know the way back to the room?"

An Yin lowered her head guiltily, looking at him in frustration, "You..."

Under his intense gaze, An Yin had to suppress her dissatisfaction.

She indeed wandered the hall for quite a while; the interior decor seed similar, and even the corridors looked alike, so it was only natural she got lost, right?

Bao Shaojin noticed her expression, knowing he guessed right. He then saw the things she was holding, "Whose are they?"

Despite her annoyance with him, faced with his question, An Yin replied honestly, "They belong to the old man from earlier."

An Yin noted that the elderly man seed acquainted with the man beside her, addressing him as "Mr. Bao," which she heard clearly.

Bao Shaojin frowned at her title, "You don’t know him?" If he rembered correctly, Shen Jingrou had brought her to visit ng Heming at the "An Residence" before, Uncle Ma stayed there often. Did they not et him then?

"I don’t know him." An Yin blinked, looking innocent.

It seed his guess was right; she hadn’t seen Uncle Ma during her last visit to the "An Residence."

An Yin noticed his face turning colder and murmured softly, "Are you very familiar with him?"

"Not familiar." Bao Shaojin replied with a nacing undertone, glancing at the items she held, "You should not accept things from others in the future."

His voice was deep and commanding, undeniably authoritative.

An Yin felt her face heat up.

Did he think she was soone who couldn’t refuse small favors or treats?

Thinking of this, she felt a wave of grievance, and she murmured with low spirits, "Then should I return the things you gave too." It was only after she said it that she realized the implication of her words.

She froze on the spot, gripping the bag tightly, causing the pastries to sway in the air a few tis.
