Furthermore, who exactly does Assistant Lin refer to as "ng Family", leaving An Yin utterly bewildered.

"Miss An, if you wish to dine here, it can only be in a private room," Assistant Lin said coolly as he noticed her glancing around.

This establishnt values custor privacy highly, and visitors are required to make reservations in advance.

"Oh," An Yin murmured, her sparkling eyes observing every detail of the surroundings.

As they reached the elevator, the attendant held the door ajar, allowing them to enter.

An Yin closely followed Assistant Lin, and once they both entered, the elevator doors slowly closed.

Just as the elevator doors shut, two figures approached, led by a man with a commanding presence, his cold countenance exuding an unsettling, frosty aura.

The man wore a black traditional long gown, brows furrowed deeply, as if he caught a glimpse of a familiar figure through the narrow gap just before the elevator doors closed.

The young girl wore a mask, inexplicably reminding him of a chance encounter with a girl whose eyebrows and eyes closely resembled a certain soone!

Uncle Ma stood by his side, and hearing the sigh escaping from Mr. ng’s lips, he stepped forward, "Sir, are you feeling unwell?"

Over the years, Uncle Ma had been deeply concerned about his health. Even minor discrepancies in ng Heming’s condition left Uncle Ma as jittery as a startled bird.

"It’s nothing." ng Heming’s gaze beca deep and distant, murmuring, "Just now, I thought I saw a familiar young girl."

Uncle Ma was startled, repeating, "A young girl?"

"The one I ntioned to you before," ng Heming sighed heavily.

Uncle Ma softly said, "Perhaps you saw it wrong."

Uncle Ma’s eyes shifted slightly, contemplating for a few seconds before grasping the understanding.

Previously, the gentleman had ntioned encountering a young girl on a trip, who bore a striking resemblance to his lover in her brows and eyes. Uncle Ma had dismissed it; after all, with so many people in the world, such resemblances were not uncommon.

What puzzled Uncle Ma was the gentleman’s lasting impression of this young girl. Even at the An Residence, he would bring her up occasionally. Curiosity stirred in Uncle Ma’s heart about how much the young girl resembled the rembered person to leave such a lasting impression.

"Mr. ng!" The attendant greeted with a respectful nod upon seeing the newcor.

Another elevator opened, and ng Heming stepped inside.

"Between the Rippling Waters," this building offers more than dining; there is tea, chess... plenty of leisurely entertainnt for the guests. Many business elites favor spending ti here.

However, the top floor of this building is not open to the public.

There are quiet speculations that it’s Mr. ng’s private domain.

On the floor just below the top.

Inside the private room.

A man was holding a cup of tea, lips slightly parted. As the tea entered his throat, a bitter taste enveloped his entire throat.

The outside world praised the tea at "Between the Rippling Waters," truly living up to its reputation!

Bao Shaojin gently placed down the teacup, his tall figure seated at a Chinese-style square table. On the table were a pot of tea and several delicate pastries.

When a slight noise ca from the door, he raised his brows.

The attendant opened the door, with Assistant Lin standing to one side, "Miss An, please co in!"

An Yin felt her heart suddenly race. Gathering her courage, she took slow steps inside the room, and as soon as one foot stepped over the threshold, she looked up, catching the gaze of the man’s clear, deep black eyes.

An Yin’s breath caught, and her steps beca awkwardly stiff.

Once inside, she heard a "thud" sound behind, causing her to turn in a panic, only to see the private room door shut by soone.

In the tens of square ters of the private room, only the two of them remained.

An Yin stopped at the entrance, standing timidly without daring to move.

"Co here."

The man’s low voice ca from afar.

An Yin gripped her bag’s strap tightly, moving forward slowly.

Eventually, she sat across from the man, "Hello!" She greeted him awkwardly.

Bao Shaojin’s brow furrowed, seemingly not expecting her sudden greeting, in such a peculiar manner, as if they were eting for the first ti.

Bao Shaojin shot her a glance, noticing her pure, tremulous eyes as if she was conquering her inner fears.

Hmm.

To see him, should she be so afraid?

Or, can he eat people?

Bao Shaojin concealed the hostility in his facial expression, observing her anxious manner, coldly saying, "You can order from the tablet on the table, see what you’d like to eat."

"Oh." An Yin took out her bag, placing it on the seat beside her. Before reaching for the tablet on the table, she noticed what was already there, "Are all these what you ordered?"

An Yin seriously counted, noting six small fruit plates on the table, the pastries looking exquisite and dainty, even the colors were very appealing, making her mouth water.

"A gift from the shop." Bao Shaojin’s eyes darkened; fearing she wouldn’t believe him, he continued, "Every table in this place gets complintary pastries for guests."

The reason he said this was that he was certain the young girl was easily persuaded.

"That’s wonderful!" An Yin’s eyes lit up, her eyes sparkling like stars.

"Try them, see if you like them." Seeing her swallow her saliva, Bao Shaojin lifted his eyelids, speaking in a low voice.

An Yin reached out for a piece of white pastry, eagerly taking a bite. It lted in her mouth, soft and sticky, tasting sweet and fragrant.

After finishing one, she exclaid, "So delicious!" However, each pastry was quite small and could be devoured in a single bite, leaving a sense of wanting more.

"If it’s not enough, you can order more later," Bao Shaojin noticed her enjoying them so much, reminding her.

"Are the refills free?" An Yin blinked her autumn-water-like eyes.

Bao Shaojin, looking at her impeccable, delicate face with a tiny crumb at the corner of her mouth, his pupils constricted, "Hmm."

An Yin was too innocent, unaware there were no free things in this world.

At this mont, she was imrsed in the delicacy, eating through three small plates of pastries before realizing her behavior wasn’t quite elegant. Sitting quietly, she glanced at the man across the table, softly saying, "You should eat too."

If not, she feared she might eat it all.

"I don’t like sweets, you can have them," Bao Shaojin spoke coldly.

"Oh." Then she wouldn’t hold back.

Each plate contained only two small pieces of pastry; although the number of plates seed abundant, for soone who’s hungry, they were consud in just a few bites.

As the young girl ate, she stuffed the whole pastry into her mouth, cheeks puffing up, making her delicate face appear charmingly lovable.

Seeing her disinterested in ordering food, Bao Shaojin picked up the tablet from the table, casually swiping a few tis. With a side glance at the nearly finished pastries on the table, he ordered a few more.

From the ti they t until now, it hadn’t been more than a year. From his observations, the young girl’s taste was unique, enjoying spicy foods, sweets, and even more, aty dishes...
