"Just do as I said," ng Heming said in a deep voice.

The driver, intimidated by his tone, quickly replied, "Alright, I have prepared an umbrella in the car, make sure to take it when you get off."

"I know."

The rain kept falling steadily.

ng Heming got out of the car by the roadside not far from the corner, holding an umbrella with a black overcoat draped over his shoulders.

The driver initially wanted to wait for him, but was refused, so he had no choice but to drive away.

A tall man stood by the roadside on the sidewalk, rain falling like strands of thread, dripping from the umbrella, with many droplets splashing on his sharp trouser legs, quickly soaking a patch, with chills seeping into his legs. He watched the intersection ahead intently, trying to find sothing within.

This street was not unfamiliar to him.

Previously, when he rode the bus with the little girl, they got off here.

Soon, he glanced to the right, the path Bao Yun took back to the temple, while the left side looked like a slightly rundown alleyway. For so reason, he inexplicably found his feet walking toward the left path.

After walking about a hundred ters, he saw slightly dilapidated shops, with such shops lining both sides of the road.

By the roadside.

A black car was parked, and the shops on both sides were curious over ti, for it rely parked there without anyone getting out, piquing the shops’ curiosity.

Inside the car, Su Jianteng sat in the back seat listlessly, a cigarette between his fingers. After a few puffs, he stubbed it out and tossed it into the ashtray at his feet.

A smoky haze filled the car, the driver covered his mouth with his hand, his face flushed, but still couldn’t help but cough, glancing nervously backward, and only relaxed when he saw the other wasn’t paying attention to him.

Fortunately, all four windows were slightly down, dispelling the smoke in monts, though the intense sll of cigarettes lingered long after.

Recently, Mr. Su often stayed here for a while, so the driver had grown used to it.

"Buzz, buzz, buzz..."

The sound of the phone vibrating ca, and the driver noticed the person in the back seed unaware, so he turned around, hesitantly said, "Mr. Su, your phone is ringing."

Su Jianteng snapped back to reality, frowning as he took out his phone from his pocket. Seeing the na on the screen, he held the phone in his hand, silently staring at it, with no intention to answer.

Before long, the call ended, but not three seconds later, it rang again with urgency.

Su Jianteng, full of impatience, turned the phone to silent mode, muttering angrily, "Won, not a single one is worry-free."

The driver, not understanding, sat quietly, not daring to make a sound.

Though he silenced the phone, the other party persistently kept calling, forcing him to endure his irritation and finally answer the call.

"Hello." His tone carried a trace of impatience.

"Su Jianteng, what do you an by this? Not answering the phone?" Mrs. Su’s sharp voice ca through the call.

Hearing that, Su Jianteng moved the phone away from his ear, "What do you want?"

"What do you think?" Mrs. Su said through gritted teeth.

"How would I know if you don’t say, I’m not so worm in your stomach."

"Su Jianteng, why hasn’t that vixen’s illegitimate child been dealt with?" Mrs. Su pronounced each word with precision.

Su Jianteng frowned and didn’t answer.

Recently, he spent most of his ti at Yanyan’s place. She’s good-tempered and always compliant with him, regardless of the matter, she yields first. What satisfies him most is that with her pregnancy, her figure is becoming fuller, making him even more infatuated.

As he continued to think about it, a layer of desire gradually spread over his dark pupils.

On the other end of the call, Mrs. Su, not hearing his response, beca anxious and threatened, "Su Jianteng, if you dare let her give birth, I’ll make you regret it for life."

Her words infuriated Su Jianteng, who imdiately cut her off. Her constant bickering had left him with no peace. Undeniably, his disgust for his wife had reached its peak.

If it weren’t for the connection with the ng Family, he wouldn’t want to spend another mont with her!

Su Jianteng furrowed his brow, glancing at the driver, "Go to Yanyan’s place."

"Yes, sir," the driver replied.

Upon receiving the order, the driver buckled his seatbelt.

Su Jianteng gazed deep into the street, where his beloved lived; he knew her address well since An Ying had submitted her personal information when she worked there.

Drawing back his reluctant gaze, his yearning didn’t fade as he left.

Perhaps it was the unattainable that kept him pining!

As the car started, blending into traffic.

Just then, from the corner of his eye, Su Jianteng seed to spot a familiar figure. He widened his eyes, looking towards the person, hurriedly lowering the window to see more clearly, and as he did so, his body slightly shook.

It’s him!

Brother-in-law!

ng Heming!

Why was he here?

Feeling a surge of excitent, Su Jianteng was about to open the car door when he realized the vehicle was already moving, and ng Heming’s figure was growing more distant.

"S-stop, stop quickly," Su Jianteng hastily called out.

The driver slamd on the brakes, and a series of horns sounded behind.

The driver looked towards the back seat, troubled, "Mr. Su, we can’t stop here."

With a dark face, Su Jianteng leaned to look out the window, finding no trace of him, his face bewildered. Did he see it wrong?

"Let’s go."

The driver restarted the engine.

Su Jianteng raised a hand, pinching his brow, and after clearing his gaze, glanced out the window once more. Although he couldn’t see ng Heming’s figure, he was sure he didn’t mistake earlier.

ng Heming has always had his own way, even though both families share ties through marriage, although ng Heming has always been distant to him, making even a eting difficult. Thus, Su Jianteng felt conflicted towards him.

Nonetheless, over the years, his company had benefited from the ng Family’s favor, preventing him from breaking ties, instead cultivating an attachnt to them.

With a gentle breeze, the rain outside sprinkled into the car, landing on the back of Su Jianteng’s hand, the icy feel gradually bringing him back to his senses.

After closing the window, he closed his eyes, leaning back into the soft seat, his mind drifting away.

The mory of that slender, graceful figure leaping from the upper floor was unforgettable!

Such a stubborn and virtuous woman, he’d desired her for long!

One day, he vowed to have her, inwardly musing, the thought of her enchanting face set his heart aflutter.
