After Grandma Wu sat down, An Ying spoke slowly, "A while ago, it rained heavily for several days. Because I didn’t close the windows, water got inside my house and leaked into yours. I’m really sorry."

An Ying looked at the other person sincerely, her face full of guilt.

"Please don’t say that, we are all neighbors."

Grandma Wu looked at An Ying’s thin cheeks, feeling uneasy, and couldn’t help but think back to the scene when she showed up here with her baby in swaddling clothes. As neighbors who see each other almost daily, every ti she saw An Ying carrying her little baby to buy groceries, Grandma Wu would always greet her warmly. However, back then, An Ying was very guarded, and when she looked at others, her eyes revealed deep fear and unease.

Rembering the past, Grandma Wu couldn’t help but sigh at how fast ti has passed. The young girl from back then had now beco a woman with enduring charm. Despite this, An Ying before her was still beautiful and, over ti, carried a more alluring grace.

Grandma Wu snapped back from her mories, her face showing a hint of lancholy.

"Aunt Wu, this ti my ho’s situation caused damage to your house. Please estimate the costs, and I will try my best to compensate you," An Ying said, raising her chin slightly.

Just as An Ying finished speaking, she heard a soft sound of footsteps approaching.

Both An Ying and Grandma Wu turned towards the direction of the front door.

Aunt Zhang was holding a cup of warm water, and she walked over to the elderly lady, "Here, Auntie, have so tea."

Grandma Wu sat up straight, looking at the unfamiliar woman, and slowly received the cup from her hand, "Thank you."

Aunt Zhang smiled slightly.

"Who is this?" Grandma Wu took a sip of tea, her gaze settling on An Ying.

"A friend of mine." An Ying did not offer further explanation.

Grandma Wu nodded towards Aunt Zhang.

Aunt Zhang also nodded, then withdrew, leaving the space for them to talk.

After seeing the woman leave, Grandma Wu continued the previous topic, embarrassed, "If it were just a bit of water leaking, I wouldn’t ask you to compensate. But this ti, the water was too much. No one was ho at the ti, and when I discovered it, the living room sofa, TV, and even the bed in the bedroom were like they were flooded."

"I’m really sorry." Although the other person spoke calmly, just hearing her description made it possible to imagine how terrifying the situation was, especially for an elderly person. It was practically a disaster.

It was all because she was in a hurry to go to work that day and forgot to close the windows at ho.

Since the incident had already occurred, regrets were useless, and now, she could only pay for her own negligence.

"It wasn’t intentional." Grandma Wu sighed, and her forehead wrinkles deepened as she asked, confused, "How did you suddenly get so badly injured?"

An Ying’s gaze wandered around, and then she slowly opened her mouth, "I was too careless and took a fall."

Although Grandma Wu was already aged, she never missed a beat when it ca to reading expressions. Since the other party was unwilling to say more, Grandma Wu did not insist, "Focus on recovering first; there’s no rush about the compensation."

"Okay."

Grandma Wu was worried that the other party would think she had co this ti just for compensation, so she composed herself and started gossiping, "Doctor Huang’s daughter is back."

Hearing the three words "Doctor Huang" again, An Ying was montarily stunned and looked at the other person, puzzled.

What’s so strange about Doctor Huang’s daughter coming back? An Ying really couldn’t understand, as she never cared about other people’s affairs.

Seeing the other party’s bewildered expression, Grandma Wu suddenly grew interested. Her light ink-colored eyes flickered with a keen light, "Hasn’t she been away all these years? Doctor Huang always wanted her to co back for matchmaking, but the girl was very resistant. This ti, who knows what prompted her, but the day after she returned ho, she went on a blind date with the son of the gold shop owner on our street."

"That’s a good thing." An Ying spoke gently.

While listening to Grandma Wu, images of Huang Yiyi as a child surfaced in An Ying’s mind. Back then, she had a good relationship with her daughter, but they didn’t stay in touch much later. An Ying still doesn’t know why.

Moreover, Huang Yiyi has been away all these years, and the tis An Ying saw her could be counted on one hand. As the saying goes, girls change a lot as they grow up. It’s possible that even if she stood right in front of her now, An Ying wouldn’t recognize her.

"It is indeed a good thing, but Doctor Huang has been worried these days." Grandma Wu’s eyebrows furrowed slightly.

"Why?" An Ying didn’t understand.

Grandma Wu lowered her voice, feigning mystery, "I heard from Sister Chen downstairs that soone in our community saw Miss Huang and a man pulling each other in the alley, and they even..."

As she spoke, Grandma Wu blushed and turned her face aside, and then hinted indirectly, "It’s said that Doctor Huang happened to walk by that alley and saw Miss Huang and the man hugging tightly."

An Ying originally didn’t want to discuss others, but seeing Grandma Wu’s unusual excitent, she couldn’t help but add, "Maybe that man is Huang Yiyi’s matchmaking partner."

"No." Before An Ying could finish speaking, Grandma Wu refuted.

An Ying, "?"

"Sister Chen said that the man was tall and thin, not at all like the son of the gold shop owner."

In the bedroom, Grandma Wu was speaking with great enthusiasm, saliva almost flying everywhere.

Standing at the door, Aunt Zhang listened and found it extrely boring.

At the entrance of a supermarket.

An Yin carried several bags of various sizes, filled with fruits and fresh vegetables.

She looked up at the drizzling rain in the sky, a hint of annoyance appeared on her face.

She could only quicken her pace.

An Yin lowered her head, just about to dash into the rain, when an umbrella was suddenly held over her head. She turned her head slightly and saw a familiar face.

"Huang, Yiyi." She stamred as she called the other’s na.

Calling her just Yiyi was too intimate, whereas calling her by her full na felt too distant.

"We et again." In contrast to An Yin’s unease, Huang Yiyi was very calm and composed, "Let’s go."

"Oh." An Yin hesitated for half a second before starting to walk.

The umbrella wasn’t very large, just enough to keep off the drizzle.

While walking, the bags An Yin carried would occasionally bump into Huang Yiyi’s trousers.

"Let help you carry so." Huang Yiyi said symbolically.

"Thank you, no need."

After hearing An Yin’s words, Huang Yiyi didn’t insist, instead, she brought up another topic, "About last night’s midnight snack, you all went to a lot of trouble."

Huang Yiyi’s face maintained a peaceful appearance, as if nothing could pique her interest, her eyes taphorically like a lifeless pool, empty and unanimated.

"Bao Shaojin paid for it." An Yin spoke truthfully.

Upon hearing the man’s na from An Yin’s mouth, Huang Yiyi’s previously composed face slightly changed. She opened her mouth, seeming to want to say sothing but was silent for a long ti.

Seeing that they were about to reach the clinic, Huang Yiyi deliberately slowed her pace.

This journey left An Yin feeling quite anxious, sensing that the other person had sothing to say. Once she noticed the other person’s slowed steps, An Yin impulsively opened her mouth.
