After sending the ssage, the palm holding An Yin’s phone began to sweat slightly. She waited for almost a minute, and there was still no reply from the man. An Yin’s fingers twitched slightly.
An Yin: [Is that okay?]
She sent another ssage.
[Yes.]
The man replied with one word, exuding an icy, sharp aura.
Fortunately, he agreed. An Yin breathed a sigh of relief.
An Yin: [See you tomorrow!]
After An Yin sent the ssage, there was silence on the other end.
She had no ti to think about anything else; the urgent matter was to rush to work. Perhaps she suddenly beca interested in making money, and her pace quickened significantly on the way to "Night Charm."
When she arrived at "Night Charm," she first went to the changing room to put on her clothes. Staring at herself in the full-body mirror in the changing room, An Yin gazed blankly at her reflection, her determination becoming increasingly firm.
Stepping out of the changing room, she did not head to her position at the VIP lounge but walked straight to Wen i’s office.
She walked through the long corridor, passing a few won in sheer short skirts. They wore exquisite makeup, and as they walked past her, they cast glances at An Yin. When noticing others’ scrutiny, An Yin often chose to avoid it, instinctively hanging her head low. Shi Qing had ntioned to her earlier that these won served tea to custors in ordinary lounges. At the ti, Shi Qing had also said one sentence: that the salaries of these won were very high. But halfway through, Shi Qing had hesitated and left the sentence unfinished. An Yin hadn’t thought much of it back then, but now, encountering these won again, she couldn’t help but steal a sideways glance.
The won wore modified spaghetti strap dresses, their cleavage entirely visible, showcasing their exquisite figures. As they walked, their fair legs encased in fishnet stockings paired with dark red high heels accentuated a visual impact with every step.
An Yin recalled Shi Qing’s unfinished words and speculated that Shi Qing might have ant that the nature of these won’s jobs wasn’t as simple as it appeared on the surface!
An Yin quickly averted her eyes in panic, but luckily Wen i’s office was just ahead.
An Yin nervously knocked on the door.
Not far from Wen i’s office, a muscular man stood leaning against the corner. An Yin had seen him before; he was the security guard here.
The door was pushed open.
An Yin slowly walked in.
A few minutes later, when An Yin ca out, she hadn’t anticipated things going so smoothly.
Upon returning to her post, Shi Qing was already standing in front of the lounge door.
"You’re still thinking about going to the lounge?" Shi Qing seed to have anticipated An Yin’s thoughts, looking at her as she arrived late, his tone quite certain.
"Yes." An Yin nodded weakly.
Upon seeing this, Shi Qing’s calm face remained unruffled, "Rember to take care of yourself."
"I will." An Yin’s eyes trembled.
"When are you switching positions?" Shi Qing asked again.
"Sister i said she’ll personally take to the lounge to observe soday when she’s free. If I can adapt, I’ll officially transfer to the lounge." An Yin recounted her conversation with Wen i in detail.
"I see."
Listening to this, Shi Qing let out a faint hum.
In the nightti bar, you can hear the dynamic rhythm from any corner. Initially, An Yin was unaccustod to it, but after working for a while, listening to it for a long ti still made her feel a bit dizzy.
Luckily, this noisy nightlife only lasted a few hours. After work, she dragged her weary body back to the dorm with Shi Qing.
In winter, the drizzle continued, and mist lingered outside.
An Yin slept particularly soundly this ti.
When she woke up, she instinctively glanced at her phone. It was 10:30 AM.
She rembered that around 6:00 AM, she had vaguely heard so rustling sounds, probably Shi Qing getting up. At that ti, she briefly squinted at the clock, noticing it was a bit over six.
Originally, she only intended to catch a few more monts of sleep, but now it was 10:30 AM.
There was no ti for breakfast now.
Nuzzled in bed, An Yin stretched lazily, her cheeks a rosy blush, looking particularly charming. After dragging herself out of bed, she rubbed her eyes, and finally, she beca sowhat awake.
Aha, did she forget sothing? An Yin racked her brains trying to rember.
In her groggy state, she lightly patted her forehead, a gentle motion that left small red marks on her pale forehead. Her skin was tender, so even a slight touch could leave a trace.
An Yin got up to go to the bathroom, and after coming out, she began frantically digging through the wardrobe for clothes to wear.
Oh my gosh, she almost forgot about inviting Bao Shaojin to dinner.
Once she finished changing, An Yin dialed the man’s number directly.
"Just woke up?"
On the phone, the man’s deep, magnetic voice could be heard.
Across the phone, An Yin’s face turned red quickly, like a crimson apple. "No, I wasn’t," An Yin’s rebuttal lacked confidence, stamring, "I just got so absorbed in the library I lost track of ti."
An Yin awkwardly made excuses. Whenever she lied, her tone would rise unnaturally.
Her bluffing attitude made Bao Shaojin not bother to expose her lie.
"I’m at the usual place," Bao Shaojin said.
"But we agreed you wouldn’t co to pick up," An Yin frowned.
As she spoke, she grabbed a small backpack from the closet and headed out.
There was no response from the other end.
An Yin moved the phone aside to take a quick glance. They were still on the call, yet the hallway was filled with noise, especially from so dorm rooms where the girls’ laughter was particularly jarring.
An Yin quickly hung up the phone, not letting the man hear the tumult on her side.
Exiting the campus gate, An Yin was exceptionally cautious this ti.
After walking a while along the sidewalk, ensuring there were no classmates around, she quickened her pace toward the corner, spotting the familiar car.
Assistant Lin was already standing by the rear car door. Upon seeing An Yin, he opened the door. Before he could greet her, she slipped into the car like a gust of wind.
Assistant Lin was montarily taken aback. After seeing An Yin obediently sit properly, he nodded at her, then closed the door and moved to the driver’s seat.
Bao Shaojin naturally noticed her guilty expression.
As the car drove onto the road, gradually leaving the campus behind, An Yin’s tensed heart finally relaxed. She then turned to the man beside her and said, "Bao Shaojin, hello.’
It hadn’t been that long since they last t, but the way she greeted him seed overly formal.
Bao Shaojin casually rested his right hand on the armrest, his middle finger lightly tapping the tal surface with an unclear rhythm. Faced with her greeting, he acted as if he didn’t hear, his sharp, deep-set eyes staring straight ahead.
An Yin noticed he wasn’t responding and tried to think; was he upset?
"Bao Shaojin, are you angry?" An Yin gathered her courage, turned her head, and stared at the man’s stern, proud profile.
