Shi Qing looked at An Yin with a complex expression and after a long while said, "If you go to the private rooms, you’ll have to face all sorts of people."

"It’s okay, I can slowly adapt." An Yin still thought quite simply.

To dispel her thoughts, Shi Qing felt it was better to say so things early. She quietly looked at An Yin and said, "In the private rooms, so n often use the excuse of being drunk to take liberties with the waitresses. Such things do happen."

What puzzled Shi Qing was that such a thing only happened to her once when she just started working; later, she wasn’t bullied by anyone. Shi Qing guessed maybe her appearance with glasses made others very unappealing, so over the years at ’Night Charm’ she lived quite peacefully.

Sotis she even had the illusion that soone was invisibly protecting her, but then she thought, how could that be possible!

"Aren’t there security guards in the corridor of the private rooms? They can protect us," An Yin said seriously, thinking of those burly n in the bar.

An Yin’s naively innocent thought left Shi Qing unsure of what to say for a mont.

Seeing the difficult expression on Shi Qing’s face, An Yin began to feel uneasy, "Do you not recomnd I go?"

"You’re not suited for this job." Shi Qing expressed her thoughts.

An Yin was completely unguarded. If she switched to working in the private rooms, just her looks alone would definitely arouse the interest of those rich young n. If those young n used so tricks and forced her to drink, wouldn’t she be at their rcy?

"But I want to earn more money." An Yin murmured.

"Still, you must first ensure your safety." If it were soone else discussing this with her, Shi Qing wouldn’t ddle, but after spending ti together, Shi Qing felt differently about An Yin.

Shi Qing’s repeated persuasion made An Yin begin to hesitate.

"Think about it carefully." Seeing her confused look, Shi Qing continued, "Your current part-ti wages aren’t low, and they can barely cover your daily expenses. Unless absolutely necessary, I don’t advise you to take risks."

The main issue is her looks are too attention-grabbing. Even when standing at the door of the private rooms, many custors are already giving her blatant looks. If she starts serving those young n inside, with her soft and weak nature, wouldn’t she be swallowed whole?

"Alright." An Yin replied hesitantly.

Seeing that An Yin understood, Shi Qing took a step towards the bathroom.

An Yin lay back on the desk. At this mont, she felt very powerless. The burden at ho had always been on Mrs. An, and although Mrs. An never complained, the image of her tirelessly watching over the bookstore always lingered in her mind.

If she had a father, Mrs. An wouldn’t be so tired.

Every ti she thought about how Mrs. An exhausted herself for the family, a surge of resentnt, bla welled up inside her. If he were here, Mrs. An wouldn’t have to face life’s difficulties alone.

Gradually, a mist of tears welled up in her eyes. An Yin buried her head, wiped her eyes on her arms, and when she raised her head again, the tears were gone, only the slightly red eyes were quite noticeable.

Shi Qing ca out of the bathroom, deliberately glanced at the place where An Yin was sitting, and found her listless. She withdrew her gaze, realizing that people’s emotions aren’t always shared. Everyone has to find solace from their own setbacks, and no matter how others console, it doesn’t help much.

Shi Qing sorted a few books from the desk into her bag; she planned to go to the library to return them.

Before leaving, she gave An Yin a glance, then left expressionlessly.

Everyone has their own difficulties, Shi Qing thought about the last ti she went to ’Qin Land’ and found nothing.

Why did the person who sent that ssage keep ntioning ’Qin Land’? Shi Qing didn’t understand. Even though she followed the instructions of that stranger and went to ’Qin Land’, she didn’t notice anything, not to ntion she stayed at ’Qin Land’ for several hours that day. Most of the n coming and going were dressed in suits, each looking dignified and extraordinary. In Shi Qing’s heart, her sister couldn’t possibly be involved with such n. After all, the gap between them was like heaven and earth.

Eventually, after leaving ’Qin Land’, Shi Qing finally accepted the reality that the person sending the ssages was just playing with her.

The next day, An Yin hurried to class after breakfast.

Due to the rain, the ground was wet, and even the air carried a damp sll.

After a night of thorough contemplation, An Yin decided to take a risk. Perhaps, when dealing with difficult custors, she could seek the help of the security guards. Besides, didn’t Shi Qing occasionally serve custors in the private rooms?

In her quest for more money, An Yin decided to ntion this to Wen i when she goes to work on Friday.

With this determination, her mood slightly improved; otherwise, thinking about Mrs. An going to work so soon after surgery made An Yin feel guilty.

Jiang Keke walked over from the corridor to An Yin and saw her absent-minded state. She quickly sat down and pulled out a box from her backpack. "Yinyin, here’s sothing for you."

Jiang Keke placed the item in front of An Yin like presenting a treasure.

An Yin was pulled out of her thoughts, her head tilted slightly back as she looked at the exquisite jewelry box in front of her. "What is this?"

"The Jade Pendant I borrowed from you last ti," Jiang Keke reminded her.

Seeing An Yin’s blank expression, Jiang Keke knew she had forgotten about it.

"Oh." An Yin reached out, took the box, and examined it closely, sighing, "You could have just handed it to ; no need to use such a fancy box."

Jiang Keke lowered her head with a sowhat guilty smile, "I was afraid it might get bumped and damaged. Anyway, I have a lot of jewelry boxes, so don’t make a big deal out of it."

"Oh." An Yin didn’t even open to take a look, she just put it in her backpack.

Seeing this, Jiang Keke paused, then reached out and took it out from An Yin’s backpack, "Aren’t you going to take a look?"

"Hehe..." An Yin was amused by Jiang Keke’s reaction, "Did you return an empty box to ?"

An Yin joked.

Afraid of appearing too eager, Jiang Keke said calmly, "Co on, take a look."

After all, this Jade Pendant was bought by Bao Cheng from a luxury brand store with her. Although she chose the cheapest one, compared to An Yin’s previous inexpensive piece, Jiang Keke felt the one she bought had more value, and she couldn’t help wanting to show An Yin.

After all, it cost tens of thousands.

At the ti, Bao Cheng thought the price was too low and the jade quality wouldn’t be good, wanting her to buy a better one. But Jiang Keke felt that, given An Yin’s ordinary family situation, a few tens of thousands for a piece of jade would already be a precious item for An Yin, so she stopped Bao Cheng’s intentions.

In reality, she had a bit of selfishness too; Bao Cheng’s luxury items could only be bought for herself, despite An Yin being her best friend.
