An Yin looked at the store clerk's enthusiastic gaze, her hands sweating slightly from nervousness.
"Cold dicine, please." An Yin said softly.
The clerk heard her and smiled, saying, "One mont."
Soon after, the clerk returned with a box of cold dicine. After explaining the dosage in detail, they gave her the price.
Upon hearing it, An Yin gathered her courage and looked up again. "I also want that..." She paused, glancing around. Seeing the clerk staring at her, she grew more nervous and uneasy. "The dication to prevent pregnancy."
An Yin lowered her voice to a whisper.
"Contraceptive pills? I'll get them for you," the clerk said, eyeing the finely-featured girl in front of them, a hint of appraisal in their gaze. In just a second, the clerk handed over a pill. "Try to take it as soon as possible."
"No..." An Yin wanted to refute; this wasn't the dication for her. But seeing the strange look the clerk gave her, she suddenly lost the urge to explain, quickly took the pill, and murmured, "Thank you."
After paying, she hurriedly left the pharmacy with the small bag in her hand.
The clerk had packed the cold dicine and the contraceptive pills together in a transparent bag. An Yin furtively turned her body sideways to block others' view and discreetly took out the contraceptive pill to clench tightly in her palm.
On the bustling street, with people coming and going, An Yin kept her head lowered timidly, as if holding a hot potato.
It was An Yin's first ti purchasing such things, and she felt a vague sense of sha, particularly in the pharmacy earlier. When others looked at her, she always felt their gazes were filled with malice, ridiculing her lack of propriety.
After leaving the pharmacy, following a ntal struggle, An Yin thought maybe it was all just in her imagination.
In others' eyes, she was just a custor buying dication, and it was just her overthinking.
After calming her thoughts, she started considering how to return to school.
Taking a taxi would be better; she was afraid people would see what she was holding on the bus.
Taking out her phone, she struggled to book a taxi with one hand, clenching the contraceptive pill tightly in the other. Once the booking was complete, she morized the license plate number and hurried to the roadside to wait for the car.
At this mont, she noticed behind her was a seemingly luxurious hotel, and quickly averting her gaze, she continued waiting for her ride.
Just then, a dark gray car stopped in front of her, looking quite high-end. Not familiar with cars, An Yin couldn't tell what kind it was. Coincidentally, her phone rang with a few beeps, an unfamiliar number, and the call was quickly ended by the other party.
Did the driver see her? Is that why they hung up?
The next mont, An Yin saw a man disembark from the car nearby, stopping just over a ter away, and opening the rear door.
It must be this car!
An Yin felt puzzled. Is the taxi service this good now?
Without much thought, An Yin walked towards the car door, forgetting to check the license plate number. "Thank you," she sweetly said to the man who opened the door.
After speaking, she directly got into the rear seat and sat properly.
Assistant Lin, who had opened the rear door, was full of questions, "?"
This...
Seeing Boss Bao walking over, Assistant Lin's mind went blank and he forgot to call the girl out of the car.
It wasn't until Bao Shaojin bent slightly and was about to reach the back seat did he notice the pair of questioning eyes. Bao Shaojin frowned, casting a piercing gaze at Assistant Lin.
"Boss Bao, I... I don't know what's happening either," Assistant Lin felt aggrieved!
An Yin sensed sothing unusual the mont she sat in the car.
The interior was too exquisite, the seats were imnsely comfortable, with various office tools, a tablet, a computer, and tea sets... It didn't resemble a taxi at all.
When her face was full of doubts, hearing the sound of the car door, she tilted her head to look at the person.
Their eyes t, and An Yin's bright eyes widened with disbelief.
She thought it was a hallucination brought on by her cold, and then she did sothing very childish, pinching her thigh, "Ouch..." It hurt.
So, the man in front of her was real.
Just a night apart, she t this man again.
Seeing her childish action, Bao Shaojin's expression changed slightly.
Two words floated in his mind: So dumb!
"I..." An Yin mumbled from the back seat, "Sorry, I didn't know it was your car, I thought... it was the one..." It was the one I booked, her words were cut off as the man spoke.
"Move in a bit," Bao Shaojin said coldly.
An Yin obediently complied, forgetting to get out of the car.
Standing beside Bao Shaojin, Assistant Lin thought he must have misheard, or was seeing things.
The typically aloof Boss Bao didn't get angry this ti, nor did he kick the girl out, instead allowing her to stay in the car. For a mont, Assistant Lin was bewildered.
"What are you spacing out for!"
A cold tone snapped Assistant Lin back, prompting him to collect his racing heart, close the car door, and head to the driver's seat.
Assistant Lin gripped the steering wheel tightly, his eyes involuntarily drifting to the rearview mirror, wanting to see what was going on.
Having worked beside Boss Bao for years, he knew all about the work-hard, no-nonsense attitude, won never caught his eye.
But the current mont... he was sitting with such a beautiful girl!
This...
Assistant Lin's growing curiosity was hard to suppress.
The serene car interior's silence was broken by a phone ringing, startling An Yin. After taking the call, the man's loud voice echoed in the vehicle.
"Hello, my car got rear-ended earlier, so I can't co to pick you up. Could you please cancel your order? I'm really sorry!" The driver's earnest tone filled the line.
Upon hearing this, An Yin's cheeks flushed red instantly, "Okay."
After hanging up, she quickly canceled the order in the rideshare app.
Once that was done, she faced her current situation.
Oh no...
How could she be so dumb? She ended up in soone else's car without any reason.
And the person was Bao Cheng's cousin.
Each ti she saw him, she'd rember the initial lie, which left An Yin anxious and uneasy, fearing she would be mistaken for a fraud.
While An Yin was lost in gloomy thoughts, Bao Shaojin on the other side was also in contemplation.
Got in the wrong car? Bao Shaojin slightly squinted his eyes, hinting at a trace of an unnoticed coldness.
"Where are you heading?" Bao Shaojin cast a sidelong glance at her with his penetrating eyes.
"School," she stamred.
An Yin sensed the gaze upon her, trembling nervously, her words coming out in stutters. Her little lamb deanor was t with Bao Shaojin's increasingly fierce expression.
Was he really that scary?
"To T University." Bao Shaojin addressed the front.
"Yes, Boss Bao," Assistant Lin responded promptly, sitting up straight.
In ten minutes, Boss Bao had an important eting, the significance of which Boss Bao knew very well. If they rushed over now, they'd be just on ti; but if they dropped the girl at T University first, they'd surely be late for the eting. After so hesitation, Assistant Lin swallowed back his words of dissuasion.
Boss Bao's decisions were final and unquestionable!
