At this mont, An Yin was fully focused on Bao Shaojin’s phone, completely oblivious to how close they were.
Bao Shaojin’s cold eyes glanced at her sharp, thin chin; her tender, bright red lips were slightly open, as if waiting for soone to kiss them. At a glance, they were very tempting, and Bao Shaojin could clearly feel a certain part of him becoming inexplicably sensitive, waves of unease completely out of his control.
As the young girl leaned closer, her fragrance drifted into Bao Shaojin’s nostrils.
He was always noble and aloof, but an unnatural expression appeared on his face.
After An Yin helped him confirm the paynt, she felt as if a weight had finally lifted from her heart. She turned her head and only then realized how close the man’s face was, "I—I’ve handled it for you."
Bao Shaojin looked at the young girl’s fair face, and because of their close proximity, he could see the faint fuzz on her cheeks.
However, the mont he glanced at her, the young girl jumped back in fright, retreating a few steps.
An Yin hung her head, feeling embarrassed by her abrupt actions. All her thoughts were on paying him back, and she hadn’t realized how close they were until she saw the man’s deep, pool-like eyes gazing intently at her.
The man’s eyes were too complex, causing An Yin to montarily lose her composure. She had never seen Bao Shaojin look at her like this, as if she were a wounded little lamb and he was the ruler of the forest, fiercely observing her with those sharp eyes.
An Yin felt her thoughts were too shaful!
Besides, she wasn’t a little lamb, and Bao Shaojin certainly wasn’t a wolf!
Bao Shaojin watched the young girl stand properly and at a distance. He glanced at his phone, still bearing the imprint of her fingertips. Everyone who knew Bao Shaojin was well aware that he never allowed anyone to touch personal items like his phone.
Even Bao Shaojin found it incredible!
His psychological defenses took a step back when facing the young girl, which, to him, was a dangerous thing! Bao Shaojin excelled at analyzing pros and cons in business, but when confronting the young girl, even soone as rational as him would always act contrary to his own ideas.
To break the quiet atmosphere between them and to show her genuine gratitude, An Yin muttered softly, "Shao..."
She almost blurted out "Shaojin-ge," but An Yin closed her mouth in ti.
Bao Shaojin’s eyes lifted slightly, the unexplained desire in his heart undiminished. He quietly watched her, a hint of somberness between his brows. He was very aware that, each ti he saw the young girl, unusual feelings would arise in his body.
He had long passed the age of youthful impulsiveness, and in certain areas, he never had strong desires. Yet because of the young girl’s proximity, there was an irresistible montum.
An Yin stood more than a ter away from Bao Shaojin, and when she raised her head to continue her sentence, she began, "You’ve helped many tis, I’d like to treat you to...."
"I have so matters to deal with, I’ll have Assistant Lin take you back to school."
Before An Yin could finish speaking, Bao Shaojin suddenly stood up and walked towards the inner room.
An Yin stood there, stunned. Her pale little face looked panic-stricken, completely unaware which of her words had angered him!
The man’s steps were swift and decisive; An Yin watched his tall back, her eyes gradually darkening!
Before An Yin could overthink things, Assistant Lin walked in from outside.
"Miss An, Mr. Bao asked to take you back to school!" Assistant Lin nodded.
"Oh," An Yin replied.
Then, as she followed Assistant Lin, her steps felt sowhat heavy.
When she reached the foyer, she deliberately glanced back towards the hall but did not see any sign of Bao Shaojin.
After getting into the car, a pleasant ringtone sounded, instantly catching An Yin’s attention. It was her new phone, and she hurriedly took it from her pocket to answer the call.
"An Yin, are you alright?" Shen Jingrou’s voice was urgent, her concern evident.
Hearing the familiar voice, An Yin suddenly realized who it was. She hadn’t had ti to save anyone’s number on her new phone. "Jingrou, I’m fine. Yesterday, I was going to look for you, but I saw a friend and went with her." An Yin didn’t ntion what happened afterward; she didn’t want anyone worrying about her.
"Ah, as long as you’re fine. I tried calling you last night and thought sothing might have happened." Shen Jingrou had no intent to bla her and cared deeply about An Yin’s safety.
At the ti, she was busy entertaining guests for her child’s seventh birthday party, and there were quite a few people. When an attendant ca to her side and reported, "Miss Shen, when I was bringing Miss An up, she seed to have t soone she knew and went with them."
After hearing the attendant’s words, Shen Jingrou didn’t think much of it, especially since she hadn’t told An Yin the purpose of having her there. She then sent the attendant away, and after completing her daughter’s birthday events, she called An Yin that evening, but there was no answer!
Still feeling uneasy, she called again the next day, and to her relief, the young woman finally picked up.
"Jingrou, I’m fine." An Yin could hear the concern in Shen Jingrou’s voice, and a warmth spread through her heart. Recalling how she missed the appointnt yesterday, she blinked a few tis, curious, "Jingrou, was there sothing you needed when you invited to that hotel yesterday?"
"Actually, there wasn’t anything specific. I just hadn’t seen you for a while and wanted to catch up." Shen Jingrou said leisurely.
Her daughter’s birthday had already passed, and Shen Jingrou understood that if she ntioned it now, An Yin would certainly prepare a small gift for her daughter. To prevent An Yin from spending money, Shen Jingrou decided not to bring up the birthday.
An Yin felt like Shen Jingrou wasn’t telling the truth, but she couldn’t call her out on it. "I have a part-ti job tonight. How about we et up when I have so ti off?"
"It’s a deal!"
After hanging up, she intended to set her phone to vibrate mode to avoid disruptions during class and disturbing others.
Also, she needed to save Jingrou’s number!
After saving it, she unintentionally glanced at her contact list and was startled to find another na besides Shen Jingrou’s.
Bao Shaojin!
His na had been saved in her phone, and she wasn’t even aware of it!
At that mont, An Yin’s heart suddenly beat much faster than usual, her eyes tremblingly landed on that na, and a deep, masculine voice echoed in her mind.
"Shao as in youth, and Jin as in Jinyun Mountain."
Back then, that was how he had introduced his na!
