Watching Zenith fall silent for a brief mont, Marita confusedly blinked her eyes while staring still at his masked face.
But, after a brief mont, Zenith gently clasped onto Marita’s warm pale hands that had started to turn a little colder, from the excess blood loss during surgery.
eting her gaze, he smiled brightly with tears glimring in those beautiful orbs, "My eyes resemble my Mom. It was the only thing that I could attain from her...unfortunately. I had always wanted if could have attain so more feature from her, but the heavens didn’t grant my prayer.
"I lost her way too long ago...but...you’re the first person who made aware of the gift I have attained from her when the whole world seed to have forgotten her existence by now. Thank you...It made happy as well..."
"I...am...glad... And...I am sure...your Mother...must be proud of giving birth to you..." Marita’s voice trembled when she murmured, gazing affectionately at his tearful eyes. The smile on her lips slowly tainted when she continued, "I...wasn’t fully conscious...but I had sensed it was you who brought to...this big hospital... otherwise, I would’ve been already dead there by now... T-Thank you, son, for...saving my life..."
"Please, I did nothing worth thanking ..." To make her feel comfortable and not overwheld with any indebted feelings, Zenith persuaded her in a gentle voice, "I am just a nobody, but...you’ve to recover fast for your son’s sake, Ma’am. He won’t be able to stay sane if he learns about your condition."
"Right...Kyle. I did give him nothing but trouble...I am sorry for being a miserable mother...to my pitiful boy..." When Marita was mumbling in a somber voice staring at the ceiling above, Zenith stared intently into her teary ocean eyes which looked exactly the sa as Kylian’s.
Even her oval face also had a very similar resemblance to Kylian which made him feel only if he could have obtained these similar features with Zorina, instead of looking like Dolemort.
Before Zenith could comfort her, Marita shuffled her sad gaze back on Zenith’s face as she quivered, "Do you...know my Kyle, son? You seem...younger just like him..."
Even though covering his face and deepening his voice, Zenith tried not to let her recognize his voice as they had talked before, but her sudden question startled him a little. Suddenly he felt the need not to lie before her more, and with a small nod, he responded with the half-truth "Yes, I know him. But we are not close."
"Could you...please keep my health condition a secret...from my boy? He...won’t be able to bear it...if he learns about his mother’s miserable attempt...and I will be forever sorry to him... I...know...I might be asking too much from you...but now that...he has achieved his dream of transitioning into a Dominant Alpha, I...don’t want to burden him furthermore..."
While Marita spoke those words in a soft sorrowful plea, Zenith could feel a knot of guilt forming deep inside his chest for lying to her before about Kylian’s transition. But now figuring out the complex situation, his transition as an oga must’ve made Marita overwheld with concern when her own life was on the brink of grave danger.
Zenith smiled tenderly at her plea, and with a nod, he promised, "I will not let him know anything about what happened here. As an Alpha, I am giving you my word, Ma’am."
"Thank...you...son... I...hope...to et you again..." With those words, Marita fell into another slumber, as if she was already exhausted from the chat she had with Zenith.
However, her sincere warmth and love for Kylian by endangering her own life had deeply moved him, as by now, Zenith had realized, that Kylian had obtained his pure heart of gold as well as his brave, strong resilient from his mother since it wouldn’t have not been possible for any other weak fragile ogas to attempt such a daring attempt like Marita did.
Feeling pleased to watch her finally sleep, when Zenith walked out of the cabin, he t Granny Elma’s keen eyes which were fixated on him. He reported to her, "We had a brief chat, and...I was really happy to talk to her. Sadly, she seed a little exhausted and has fallen asleep, but I can feel that she’s getting better."
"Thank goodness..." Grinning wide with a tearful face, she patted Zenith gently while expressing her gratitude, "I can never stop thanking you for everything, son...Thank you so much..."
"Please, rest assured, my n will take care of everything that’s left here. She will recover very soon." Pointing his thumb towards Barnes, Zenith sounded very assertive from his tone, and even Barnes tried to comfort her by handing over his handkerchief to her for wiping her tears.
After glancing at his wristwatch Zenith gave Barnes the get-to-go signal and bid goodbye to Granny Elma first, "I have got to leave now, it’s already very late. To rush here, I had to leave behind my fierce little kitten who must have bee quite vexed with . But I will co and et you very soon...that’s a promise..."
......
After freshening up with a warm shower, while wiping his wet hair with the white towel, Aiden sat on his bed with his bare muscular upper body and only covering his lower half with another towel.
On his corner desk, he had still kept the half-torn picture of Kylian and didn’t feel the urge to hand it back to Zenith. After spending so alone quality ti with Kylian in his secret comfort place, Aiden was smiling widely while humming a soft lody, seeming to be in a jovial mood.
But at that mont, his phone vibrated with a text notification, making Aiden wince a little. When he grabbed to check on it, the ssage displayed there imdiately faded the small smile he had on his face.
The text was from his mother, the one person he had always tried to avoid eting, no matter what it took.
> "I will pay a visit to your Academy soon. I have so important business with you, until then, don’t act recklessly."
That one text faded his happy mood, as his expression turned disdainful. Clenching the phone tight in his grip, he gaze fell on the mirror reflection of himself, especially on the giant tattoos prominent all over his neck and upper chest.
’Just how much does she still want to tornt ? All these years...weren’t they still enough?’
