Alrik laughed, until he saw the look on Griffin’s face, and realised that the man he called Grandfather for a long ti was not joking.

She stopped right in front of him and glared down at his seated form.

Alrik whispered sothing to Eliza that only two of them could hear, and they both chuckled. Vaida’s smile faltered. She felt like they were mocking her, but there was nothing she could do. She just glared at Eliza who was still seated on Alrik’s legs, and pushed Kalen away.
